    Tube Pilot is highly underrated. Too many companies are overdoing it with the one tube preamp thing instead of making something you want to keep around.

    ahhh the problems. Thanks man!

    If you open up the Tube Pilot and take the board out turn it over there is a bias pot for the tube voltage. And of course you can change the tube to a lesser gain or more gain type.

    I own the Cinders and I love it, great running clean and also as you found out maxed out for a great distortion tone in my Marshall Origins 50c. Btw - I think it's more like a Blues Driver in tone shape than a tube screamer

      We’ve made this player for you to A/B between the Cinders, BD-2, 808 & TS-9.
      The bluesdriver is a bit fizzier than the others in the higher gain ranges. See what you think Steve and let us know :) www.tonepedia.com/player#/electric/effect/218,253/509,281,749,668/70,242,388,389/filter_active=false

      @@tonepedia WOW, that was awesome. I have to say the Cinders sounds very good against the other well known pedals, which can be toned done by the amp treble or the tone knob on the pedal itself. The TS9 and is an all time favorite for sure. Have you done this side by side comparison with other pedals, live Fuzz pedals ? It's very helpful actually, thx !

    Hi, I have a TC El. Cinders that I really like and you as a great guitarist have confirmed it to me... After this video I think I will combine it with another pedal to have more choice... Congratulations. PS) but what is the difference between El Mocambo and El Cambo ???

      I wondered the same..Shane from in the blues said they're the same exact pedal... copyright issues w mocambo so was shortened to Cambo

    The Tube Pilot, if you were to run that into a solid state amp, would it approximate similarly to a Joyo Bantamp hybrid 20W or the Orange Micro & Micro Dark 20W hybrid ? I realize you're going into a Hughes & Kettner tube amp, so it's going to be exceptional tube sounding anyway.

    • @tonepedia
      @tonepedia  Před 4 lety +7

      Hey! Actually the amp is 100% solid state. If it sounded really tube like to you, than that's awesome to hear since it would mean that these pedals do their job pretty well! Cheers mate :)

    • @jimcamp2423
      @jimcamp2423 Před 4 lety

      @@tonepedia The Hughes & Kettner, does it have amp or cab sims ? Each layer in the chain, the pedal with the tube, is going to retain some tube sound characteristics ? I mean, I have a Behringer VAMP 3 and into & in front of a solid state amp, it sounds better than the baseline Pyle 100% solid state amp.

    • @jimcamp2423
      @jimcamp2423 Před 4 lety +1

      Meh, H&K does sim their own tube amps in their own little black box & shroud of secrecy called Spirit Tone Generator. I'd bet it's basically some of their best selling tube amps simulated in a profile for that amp. Like what Fender does with Mustang I V2 that have profiles of Fender's most iconic amps. The results are close renditions, almost indiscernible profiles.
      The Spirit Tone Generator technology faithfully recreates the natural yet wildly complex interactions of traditional tube amp circuits on a digitally controlled but strictly analog working platform.

    What's the point of evaluating an FX with two others already active instead of simply isolating it and hearing what the FX alone does versus a completely dry signal????

    • @tonepedia
      @tonepedia  Před 4 lety +3

      Valid point. In this video the point is to show how each delivers in real life situation as a part of a rig.
      That said, A/B/C them in on/bypass modes and so on is indeed mega important and that is actually what you can do in the most in-depth way possible on this link: www.tonepedia.com/player#/electric/effect/218,253/508,507,509/70,242/

    Quite frankly found the delay setting off putting in this demo... will put this down to personal taste. Especially when you stopped shredding and actually played something. Would have been happier with a bit of reverb in the background
    Think I will have to find a different review to find the sort of tone comparison I am after.
