Great car, a little bugged by the fact that the passenger seat is manually adjusted even on the top-end model... seriously VW? It's 2017, the Tiguan has all those cool high-tech assist features but not an electrically adjusted passenger seat...

Good looking but a part of me still prefers the previous model bc they were so well built. It’s the little things with this model, like the rear bench seats not FLUSH with the car. When iits in uoright position there’s a huge gap inbetween the car and the seat back.. like it’s an after thought or flimsy (on the two row model too). Like make a side wall material or something to fit inbetween the sides of interior and seats.

So, I've noticed that there is absolutely zero consistency in VW's Tiguan line. Specifically looking solely at the 2019 VW Tiguan SEL Premium, R-Line, w/ 4Motion:
1) Some Tiguan's have the round-type airbag/horn bumper in the center of the steering wheel with paddle shifters, where others have the t-type airbag/horn bumper in the center of the steering wheel.
2) Some Tiguan's have a slowly illuminating Blind Sport Monitor Indicator Light built into the side view mirrors (NOT the mirror itself, but the plastic casing) -- closest to the driver and passenger, and some do not.
3) Some Tiguan's have Puddle Lights built either into the bottom of the sideview mirrors or the bottom of the front doors, and some do not.
4) Some Tiguan's have a LED compass built into the auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and some do not.
5) Some Tiguan's have a pocket built into the center of the dash, where some have a speaker.
6) Some Tiguan's have buttons for temperature control, fan speed, and heated seat controls for the 2nd row that passengers in the second row can control -- right underneath the vents, and some do not.
7) Some Tiguan's 2nd row seats can recline, some cannot.
8) Some Tiguan's have a 2nd row pocket/drink holder to the bottom of the passenger seat (NOT the door pocket), and some do not.
9) Some Tiguan's have tinted privacy glass, and some do not.
10) Some Tiguan's have garage door buttons, and some do not.
May I ask what's the deal with all the inconsistencies? Is it a regional difference? Manufacturing plant difference? Do you have to specifically ask for these things and special order your Tiguan this way? Looking for some insight and answers please.

When you use remote start, does the vehicle turn off immediately upon opening the driver door? This happens on the Passat and it’s awful
not 100% positive but i dont think so / usually remote start stays on even after you open the car
how do you like the car so far? is the sluggish hp something you can put aside? overall do you enjoy the car? Considering getting one next year
Thanks. On the Passat it’s the total opposite, shuts off the whole car. From what I hear the 2018 Tiguan isn’t the best car for merging or the on ramp. It’s a shame-the old Tiguan had such a peppy engine.
Currently have a 2015 Tiggy R Line. Will stop by local VW dealer tomorrow to check out new model and new features. I see online that the brown/black leather combo interior has different rear seat headrests - is that the only trim that has the "low" headrests in the back? Are they manual or can be lowered from front console? I saw in another video there's also wireless charging (but that looked like a European commercial/release) - is that not avail on the SEL Premium? Lastly, will they release a R Line (i.e. should I wait a bit longer)?
