I've not heard this in 10 years. Brendan can sing and has got great taste in covering this Tim Buckley song. I hope he covers some Scott Walker in the future. Thanks for putting this up.
This video is gorgeous and goes very well with this beautiful song... I Love Mr.Perry... absolutely adore him... his voice that is. Anyone knows RICHENEL'S version of this? It 's on Perry's old label 4AD and is part of the whole THIS MORTAL COIL project, which, of course, Perry/Gerrard were also involved with... Richenel's version is also really quite marvelous... Unfortunately RICHENEL went on to do inferior Fairlight-fueled euro-pop...
I've just listened to this version, Tim Buckley's original and This Mortal Coil's take on it and for me this is the best. The others are paced too quickly, the original has too much of an upbeat feel for me and the TMC one is lacking depth in the vocal. Brendan Perry has the right feel to his voice, the guitars are varied and rich and most importantly the pacing is spot on for a song about lost love. Just my own thoughts, I know plenty will disagree but that's the beauty of the world. :)

nonononono maybe this is liked because its a newer version but buckleys' version (the original) is more felt and i wont take this for a change.
