Not at all, I thought this was absolutely riveting. As someone who has fallen away from DC comics this was a good way to get caught up and it actually does indicate just how powerful Dr. Manhattan is in the DCU.

if you remember, towards the end of "New Guardians" New 52, Kyle Rayner and the Templar Guardians split the White Lantern ring in seven, five of which sought out bearers on who would protect life in all its forms.
they all defeated a mirror version of Kyle called Oblivion, then the five White Lanterns separated and carried on their own missions across the universe. since then, nothing has been heard of them

Not only that. I mean they did do that with Ultimate Peter Parker but the story of the dead of Peter Parker and the rise of Miles Morales were well written so it was fine.
Most of the others deads/replacements felt so forced and lazy ways to introduce diversity with new characters. It's like they knew they couldn't make interesting characters so they had to kill their old characters so you actually care about the new ones.
Just once I want to see a Green Lantern who looks like a normal guy with a beer gut and average looks. As there has been some confusion I'm not talking a gigantic gut here people but one that you see on the average guy. You know like the dude Al from Tool Time.

On the question of Dr. Manhattan (DM) being more powerful than a White Lantern.......what if it's not about being "more powerful", but being "more capable" with the powers available to him? As in, it's not about "how much power you have", but instead, "how you use it"? DM's powers originally weren't about reality manipulation specifically, but about understanding, perceiving, and being able to manipulate what makes reality what it is, matter and energy (past that, it gets into quantum physics, and that will get confusing). DM had some limitations (ahem, "SOME"), but he wasn't able to alter time back then. So, what if his ability to strip a White Lantern of their powers isn't about being more powerful than that, but simply understanding the White Lantern energies and the matter that makes the ring, how it all works, and just flipping the off switch??? If I were to put this in an example, imagine you've got a big death machine, something large, industrial sized, able to grind people up, kill them, and it's all metal. You put a tribal-type human near this thing, and they think it's a monster, or a god, or something, and they fear it. Maybe they even poke it with a spear or something, and this does nothing. Then you take a modern human, especially one with the right knowledge and experience (a military technician with combat training and experience), and that person faces the same machine thing. Instead of freaking out, they know it's a machine, it has to have a weakness, an off switch, or a power source, that it can be shut down. So, even though this machine thing is much more powerful than they are, this person knows it has a weakness, a vulnerability, an "off switch", and that this would be an integral part of the machine's design. Dr. Manhattan can do this, but with practically any and all energy and matter in the universe. This would include all Lantern Corp power sources in the emotional spectrum, as since these are part of what makes the DC universe a thing, then they would somehow have to fit into what is/isn't possible in Quantum Physics, as far as how that would work and be applied in the DCU.

It all boils down to being a higher dimensional being. Human are 4d being, hence we can only perceive and interact 3d and below world. Higher dimensional being, like MrXyz - a 4th dimensional imp, can have almost omnipotence within the 4th dimension, since they can bend and alter 3d laws at will. And since dr xyz himself is afraid of Manhattan, we can safely say that Dr Manhattan could be a being of even higher dimension.
The Green Lantern world and story is one of the best. I love the Green Lantern.

Last time we saw Saint Walker before this story was near the end of the Sinestro series where Sinestro somehow convinced him to bolster The Yellow Rings the same way he bolstered the Green Rings in the past. That story ended with Saint Walker and Arkillo being named the protectors of Earth. It was a cool story at the time. But i noticed that alot of story threads from the Sinestro series have been ignored or left to the side burner since Rebirth. Not really complaining because Hal Jordan & The GLC is DEFINITELY the best thing coming out of DC Rebirth
The question is why would Dr. Manhattan disrupt the resurrection of the blue corps and eliminate the White lantern is it because of the balance of life and death issue or so no one can rival his power or because Kyle has become so powerful the writers had to remove the white light? does anybody know for sure?
Why indeed. Why does Manhattan interfere at all with anything? For most of the story in Watchmen, he surrendered to destiny and to a concept that he cant change anything because to him, it had already happened. But I think he is starting to realize that these futures he is seeing is only going to be true if nothing happens to change it...which in the this case he doesn't change anything cause he believed he couldn't so he saw nothing but the outcome to that line of thinking. It's like taking hope away because "what's the point" kind of mentality. He figured out he was wrong about this for the most part, realized that miracles exist, and that he can make a difference based on the possibility of creating miracles....turning oxygen into gold.

It's entirely speculation, but most people agree that the cause was Manhatten.
Kyle's power was obstructed by "a presence, an intruder," and his white lantern ring was destroyed and split into the 7 rings it originally was. As Rob explains, someome did this, and the most obvious candidate was Manhattan. Of course, no official confirmation by DC through the stories yet, we'll have to keep waiting to see. But most fans agree that it was Manhattan.

So my question in this whole arc with Manhattan is: "Why?"
What would cause Dr Manhattan to go through and do all of this stuff, killing or disabling so many powerful beings.
He has never really shown a tendency to be power-hungry or vindictive. The only time he killed in the original graphic novels was when he was first discovering his powers (when he was being used as a weapon), and to kill Rorschach when he threatened to tell people what happened.
There must be a reason why he is going through all the trouble of doing all this - and for hiding it.
I don't think he is ultimately going to be the big villain. I think DC is leading up to a big reveal, showing that Manhattan was trying to prevent some sort of greater calamity by doing lesser evils.

Dr. Manhattan can travel through time, create and destroy universes, travel between parallel universes, manipulate reality in multiple, if not all, universes, read minds, and is virtually omnipotent and omniscient. He's even able to play out alternate timelines to any universe he is in, and choose the outcome he wants in those universes. He is only limited by two constraints - He can't know what is happening in regions of spacetime with high tachyon concentrations with actually visiting them physically, and he is still part of a predetermined universe, and thus governed by fate/destiny. That is it. So yeah, Dr. Manhattan is the strongest character in the DC universe right now, with the only potential contender being the Presence.

Isn't doctor Manhattan omnipotent? Like can see and interact with everything and every time at once? I'm not sure if white lanterns can basically manifest themselves in multiple places at the same time, but I remember seeing Manhattan doing it in the movie which leads me to think he is a notch above.

He probably is slightly weaker than Lucifer Morningstar. He is practically omniscient but his powers aren't as powerful as Lucifer. However, Dr Manhattan is known for getting experientially stronger the longer he's alive. His power to manipulate time and laws of the universe gets way stronger.

Just so you know Rob, The fans of marvel comics aren't upset about the diversity in marvel comics right now. They are upset because these new diverse characters don't really have much character to them and most of them are just either Mary Sues or Gary Sue's that have no flaws, are perfect at everything, never get called out on any crap that they do, and they are written where the character or story has to remind everyone how they are better than everyone because of their race. You may think I'm racist but I'm not. One new diverse character that I've been enjoying Is Kenan Kong from the New Super-man comic. Of the 13 issues I've read of him he doesn't go on about he's better because of his race, he isn't a Gary sue since he's trying to learn to use his powers, and he's just a cool character who happens to be chinese. Cyclops & Jean Grey (White), Storm & Bishop (African American), Wolverine (Canadian), Jubilee (Chinese American), Gambit (Cajun), Rouge (Southern), Nightcrawler (German), Professor X (British), Magneto (Jewish), Colossus, Magik, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch (Russian), amongst dozens of other diverse characters. So tell me, how am I racist when X-Men is my of favorite comics?

So, I feel like ION Kyle Raynor was basically not any different in the terms of power and ability than Dr. Manhattan. He was capable of existing at multiple points at the same time, I'm sure that time travel would have been academic as well. His ability to understand and control energy and matter seemed limitless.
Seeing as Kyle Raynor as the White Lantern should be an upgrade, unless Kyle is no longer the Host to the White Entity (I'm a bit behind on events). As Host of the White Entity Kyle should not be able to be overpowered by Dr. Manhattan, if he's just a Lantern (even a white one) than being overpowered is at least semi-plausible.
So that was just an explanation of the lanterns and then a "maybe it was him?" at the end. Great

I had to thumb down this video. The title is about Dr. Manhattan destroying the White Lanterns not a 15 minute ramble about everything that has to do with space, all of the different colored Lanterns, and everything else. I couldn't make it past the 14 minute mark.

DC is buying up other comics to the point they are screwing up their own cannon characters. The Watch Men don't even belong in the same universe as the main cannon DC characters. Doc. Manhattan has been made MORE OVER POWERED then any DC character around. Dr. Manhattan is so powerful.. if he farts he could end all life.. They should have never brought Watchmen into the DCU.. But that is just my Opinion..

ummm.... No. He is not more powerful than the living tribunal, I believe the living tribunal exists beyond space-time. Spectre can only be killed by powerful magic e.g. Spear of destiny but he is the embodiment of *the presence'*vengeance. The spectral dagger can protect the spectre from atomic manipulation. The living tribunal doesn't have a particular plane of weakness so time manipulation won't work. These two are more powerful than Doctor Manhattan clearly

mahtada bashir comicsexplained is leaning more to the left on comic diversity and threw shade at another comic channel "Diversity & Comics" saying that people who don't support diversity in comics they are racist. I'm disappointed at Rob at the moment as I seen him develop this problem as of late and now it's beginning to bite him.
Diversity & Comics is a channel which has been growing a lot lately. D & C is one of the few who are finally calling Marvel out on what they've been doing wrong.
Overshipping Marvel comics to comicstores to prevent bad salenumbers, changing classic Marvel characters into females or minorities ( instead of making new ones succeed ), their inability to write normal people of colour as heroes ect..
Rob is one of those comic readers that refuse to accept certain facts about Marvel. He's probably afraid he'll be disliked by the Marvel comic team if he doesn't speak against D & C.
