Leroy really be RIPPING like I always dreamed of. We will go 6’s by Christmas I’m confident 🇺🇸
Leroy’s pass was cool and all but I can’t get over the ag hole in 1
and the mini bogger!
Thanks you mr McFarland
With the cooler air I don't see why not
Hey Cleet in the beginning of the video the right front tire seems to have a buldge in the sidewall may be worth looking into
Cleetus and team, Look at what your rims are doing on the rear of Leroy at 12:14 and replay this as a frame by frame and you'll see that Leroy's rear rims are distorting at the "Dish" and going "Toe-in" and pulling his rear end, around, all over the place on bad track. Maybe a set of sturdier Rims to hold his power should be on the cards. It'll make a difference!
Same issue big power DSMs had back in the day. They caused some horrible toe issues on launch.
Might be onto something here
good eyes
Just commenting to bump this up. Hopefully Garrett sees it.
.
Thats a good call
5 years ago you took Leroy to taco bell and got 10 baha blasts with zero cup holders. 6th gear burnouts. And trying to even drift it around a track. Now it’s straight Racecar and you have your own track! Crazy how much you’ve grown. You inspire me with every video. And I’ve seen every one of them lol. Keep up the crazy good work McFarland fab!!!
And his own racing team, and a gem of a wife, and a lil kid, and he owns part of motion raceworks and TBM brakes, and has his own web store and so on 😂😂

We need to make a compilation of every Leroy PB run from beginning of the project up until now!
I would watch the hell out of that.
I'm extremely tempted to do that, but bc of an upcoming hockey tournament and the fact that doing this would take 12 hours+, it'll have to wait until Monday/Tuesday
no that comes after the 6 second pass
@@williamyurick4700 no it should be the video that shows the 6 second pass show every pb then the end one being the 6
And then make a compilation of Ruby's runs from the beginning and Mullett's
Wise dad cleetus “we’re only gonna run the 1/8th, be easy on it”
Young cleet “drain the block I’m sending it”
"We're going to burn it down but we're going 7's tonight" 🤣🤣🤣
older wiser cleet, it needed refreshed after two passes anyway......send it!
nascar style spare motor and transmission bolted together in hauler and quick disconnects for test and tunes!
When he ran that pass with no water the engine builder told him the block needed work anyway and to send it
There's never been nor will there ever be a TV show or anything else that will compare to the quality, entertainment, and personalities on this channel.

@@mcf3778 that was the biggest lesson i learned when i was a young fella.
This requires a no fault leadership. Garret runs a solid ship here and these guys are obviously happy to go to him and say hey boss we screwed this up and here's how we fix it. Being results focused means so much to the kind of people that want to solve problems. Blame is just an anchor.
@@mcf3778 thats so not true, some parts say no lubrication required upon installation, so its not exactly Tye's fault. Everyone makes mistakes, its life, we learn and move on
I don't know what it is about Leroy but I get super excited everytime you get on a track with him..
Wise words from James "start off where we left off"
Just an engineering thought on that sliding piece in the wishbone, Aluminium is quite "sticky" it may be worth going for a hard anodised finish, just allow for the hard anodise as it will make it a larger diameter, or go for a steel one either way maybe DU type bushes. You as a team have produced an absolute rocket of a car.
Idk why they don’t use duralumin bushings inserts in the wishbone. Also I might be wrong but I’m thinking the purpose of the floating two piece design is to allow the suspension to articulate, not so much to extend as the suspension drops out.
What material is the outside pipe? I would probably suggest pressing in some Oilite bronze bushings and replacing the rod with a chrome rod for hydraulic cylinders. That should both prevent sticking and make the rod very hard to wear out.
They did cut down the tolerance for better lube but I'm with you on an anodized finish.
That could be the Trump Card!
What about some DLC coating?

Something about Leroy makes me happy. I've been watching Leroy since he was just a baby and grew up with him on this channel. Mullet is a beautiful fast car, and I love Elco's, but Leroy is by far my favorite car. Maybe because it is what brought me to this channel, maybe its just so effin cool. The more content of this car the better imo!

It's great watching Leroy trying for records again. I remember when u wanted a 7 so bad u ran it dry with a bad head gasket. It was a blast to watch.

So glad to see Leroy faster then ruby again pissed me off back in the day seeing ruby become faster!
Right-On Brother
it was like ruby surpassed leroy with almost no effort from the team. good to see leroy back in action
@@Wulthrin ruby is an automatic. Its still converting torque while shifting. A manual losses all forward momenum while shifting. Leroy has come so far! I was there the day he broke into the the 8s and here we are on the brink of 6s. Leroy is launching incredible. Congrats to the crew man… they got Leroy dialed
James: let's start going for where we left off
Leroy: hold my ball bearings
If you are running a launch control device like a bangshift billy or MAPerformance or Magnus, when back in the pits, the clutch can be held disengaged for quicker cooling around the clutch area with the pit fans. Also these launch control devices can be setup with a 2 step and line lock operated by a switch on your steering wheel, just like a trans brake auto....
Cleet has probably the best team sitting behind him. this guy is taking records, and these guys are learning from mistakes right way which is awesome, everyone makes mistakes. These guys are legendary .

My shop is 40x60ft and I'm standing here thinking about being slung from one side to the other in one second flat... 😮🤯😂
Cleeter the issue you have on the wishbone corroding inside is called "Contact Corrosion" it is a chemical reaction and happens everytime you put steel and aluminium together without a isolator in between them...
An isolator can be grease but you have to stay on top of it and don't get lazy with maintaining/regreasing it otherwise you will encounter always the same issue but then when you DON'T need it the most hahahahaha.
I would recomend you to use black "Graphite grease" since its a good isolator and it lasts longer then regular grease 💪🏻😁
With best regards

honestly I'm shocked the suspension manufacturer didn't teach them?
@@Nebbia_affaraccimiei maybe they don't know themself.
That's why it is very important to give manufacturers good feedback so they can improve !
@@thaninjaaaa8970 I hope a manufacturer would know about electrolysis and issues with dissimilar metals. It's a very well known phenomena that happens in any trade or construction.

If a manufacturer didn't know about that phenomena then they probably shouldn't be designing and selling things that are geared toward performance, the harshest and most dangerous conditions in the automotive field. They could lead to...I don't know, maybe binding suspension at 200mph? Sounds dangerous to test your products on the customer knowing they are going to push the limits.
Proctor Silex will literally bend a plug wire a hundred thousand times to test is durability. I've been to the factory and have seen it myself. They could do more testing or they could market it and find the failure points with their customers health.

Probably 2 dozen launches with near 1,000 hp at the line. The clutch can definitely be considered a consumable item.
Imagine how fast Leroy would go with body panels. I think we need another wind tunnel test!
I've been saying that. I just don't think Leroy destined for a body. Would be cool to see a partial body.. They could do some wind tunnel cardboard fiber action and then make some composite panels. Would be so much better on the back half.
They have looked at it and Garrett says that it’s less than 5% faster with body panels and he’s said that he would rather make that difference with power than losing the spirit of Leroy with a body
@@masonkelly8341 i vaguely remember that now. Would be a cool video idea for them to do a couple before runs, windtunnel/cardboard fiber then some after runs with the same tune
Why does everyone think Leroy should be neutered by putting a body on him? I always thought the point of having a cart style car was it being a cart style.
