Is it coming to the US..?
With a D5 engine I would consider it. This poses as a family car. If you have small kids, the last thing you want to do on a roadtrip is charge the car. You just one to get to the destination in one piece, while sitting in a nice cold or warm car in the shortes time window.
It's got a stated range of 738 km (458 mi) and should charge from 0 to 80% in less than 30'. If that's not enough for you, I doubt you dislike EVs for any objective reason.

I like Volvo for safety. But I see recent videos saying engines blow up after 100,000 miles. The new generations are better than the old ones but not durable? Maybe the materials are not good enough? The old generations just simply have natural aspiration like Toyota, or just add one of the turbochargers, superchargers, hybrids on each car, no need to combine so many things on one car, it will break easily and increase the cost. or reduce the cost of spare parts if it breaks early. I hope my contribution is recognized. I still love Volvo hope it is still trusted by people.

Oh It's looks really good. For me Volvo has always looked clean for me. Still the Vovlo 162 is still going to be my favorite. Anyway the thing that matters is saftey.

If Volvo can build this they need to build a new C70 or a 2 door S60. Not just for me but for Volvo fans everywhere. Build a 2 door.
As an innovation manager I think it is a very brave move from Volvo and Geely to put everything on one card. This is a typical „technology push“ situation. They really forcing on EV‘s. I also missing the innovative ideas what Volvo had in the past like the 3point seatbelt. From the technology point of view this car (also other volvo models) has nothing revolutionary. Clearly Volvo became the cashcow of the Chinese owners and they want to get rich quickly. I am hoping that somewhere in a secret lab they working on different type of drive train like hydrogen or ammonia powered engines.
As a Volvo owner in the past I have to express my disappointment on the design. The current Volvo look really reminds me of a futuristic, plastic car. Seems like the designer ignored the meaning of the badge (steel=iron).
Volvo is very innovative and good, they know what they are doing, they are also very safe.

This is not Volvo. It’s just a car with the Volvo logo on the Zeeker 009. Where‘s the safety, the Scandinavian luxury that Volvo has been stressing? Where’s the stationary headrest, the understated interior that‘s not flashy in other Volvo cars? Volvo EM90 is just a Chinese car. Geely bought Volvo’s philosophy, not Volvo‘s. If Volvo leaves the safety philosophy behind and only thinks about its immediate benefits, Volvo will not be sustainable. Please make 'Volvo.'
Something is off for me in aesthetics. It looks like a church bus rather then logical next step in Volvo's product design lineup.

Just build a restomod V70 - EV70!! But I bet people in the US and in rural China (where space is a plenty on the streets) will consider this MPV. Europe? Not so much. But who cares about Europe in Sweden.

An MPV at a time when most of the world has switched to SUV’s. Not sure about this one. Maybe it will sell in China.
There are multiple options of SUV's from Volvo, this is an extension of their lineup. There are a lot of people that want a car like this, and for those who dont, then they buy something else.
Not just China. But Asia. This is the new executive car. Comfortable and big.
Bring this to the American Market, you cowards!
This is a brave move by Geely... maybe the Chinese market will love it? From a European perspective it is hard to see it selling here in huge numbers. Corporate minibus? High class taxi? Otherwise, it's just not as visually appealing as a posh luxury saloon or a seven seat SUV and if you've got money and want an electric family MPV; the VW ID -Buzz?
Volvo EX30 however -I think it will sell in huge numbers in Europe. Much better looking, compact, original eco material interior and relatively cheap..
The biggest problem is that it still looks like a minivan. 🙄🤭

Hahaha, “cutting edge technology” be prepared to not get any decent software support after a year as they did with my car. It’s truly sad to see the lack of competence in a company like Volvo, which once made at least half decent cars. My advice don’t buy a Volvo and go with a BMW where they even provide customer support for 10 year old cars something Volvo can’t do for cars produced only a year ago.

EVs arent climate friendly as you claim. The carbon footprint that you create while making them is quite large. Then comes the question of how clean is the power that charges the batteries. Lastly, the kind of premium needed to buy and maintain an EV causes further more carbon emissions.
Hopefully Volvo will change their approach and not eliminate ICE engines...
You are correct, but at this moment in 2023, the ways that energy is being produced is the only way. This is a step in the right direction and people will hopefully start to realize to use more efficient power plants, for example nuclear fusion. That is a clean, extremely efficient, and safe method at creating energy.
And the alternative is to go straight to petroleum.as if that was cleaner ? From drilling to refining to delivery and Eve. Pumping into a ice car the waste is incredible. All using energy to create. Even before the gas car drives a mile ig has created a carbon footprint far higher than any ev
No they are not perfect, but they are still more climate friendly than an ICE car. (I’m not elaborating, Google it for yourself)
