      Its a beautiful boat should not run so wet. A simple flair on the bows should work wonders in keeping the boat and passengers dry. This will not only be nice for people on board it will mean a whole lot less salt on the cushions an decks.

    That's one beautiful cat and has a great range. Personally with the galley I'd have it down in a hull. I know a lot of people like it up in the salon but they forget that a down galley is more stable being at or even below the water line, very important in rough seas.

    Love the layout. Love it!
    Regarding staying up on the fly, I probably wouldn't. At least not without a full face weather mask with shield for warmth and to protect my glasses. I don't even care for RIB rides because of all the bumping and thumping. I'm much happier chugging along in a slow wooden tender. Always looking for a comfortable and sheltered place to enjoy a cigar even while under way.
    Given that I'm coming from the Toronto area, I would start by doing the loop. The southern leg anyway. After that it's an open field. Alaska, North Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Vietnam Singapore, Australia, Fiji, Greece, Croatia, etc., etc., etc. As you can imagine, range would be a major factor as would a crew of three. Is there a version that has power and sail?
    Wondering when boat builders are going to start publishing hull drag coefficients. They can be quite significant in both wind and sail applications. Also looking for boat builders to look at Sharrow propellers to improve efficiencies.

    John, thanks for another great video review. I'm a huge fan of explorer-type catamarans mainly for their impressive interior volume. The outward-facing berths and beamy hulls are a nice feature. I would cruise this in the Bahamas or coastal in the Northeast (US/Canada) during warmer months. I would prefer a main deck galley. It offers a more social experience for all onboard. I'm looking forward to seeing more from Moon yachts in the future. Good luck to them and congratulations on a fine first launch!

    Greetings from Northern California, which is currently in another “atmospheric river” as the meteorologists are calling our unusual rainy weather pattern. No I would not have stayed on the fly bridge in that wind, had enough of that in the US Navy. Loved the galley in the port hull, then the cook can rise triumphantly into the salon with the food. Those Cummins engines are used in a lot of long haul trucks in the states. Another interesting presentation, you are quite good at this you know.

    I really appreciate the inclusion of deck plans and alternative arrangements. I often get confused about where I am on a boat and how many state rooms there are when watching boat videos. Yacht Buoy's use of plans greatly assists in orientation and understanding.
    We need a longer time to read the diagrams so I recommend avoiding zooming and panning on plans, at least until after we have had time to view them. This is a good opportunity to explain the benefits of the design, easy access, flow, communal areas, helm location, machinery and work areas, etc.
    I don't understand why yacht builders don't aim at a 5000nm range to facilitate ocean crossing with reserves.
    If I go to sea, I go to sea to see the sea. Reviewers stand and walk around the yachts but rarely sit down. So many boats do not have windows one can see out of when seated.
    At night, in port, one may want to watch a video. Often the screen is not located where seated people can relax and watch the screen. One has to crane the neck. There is no way a lot of people can relax and watch the big race or match of the day. Instead we get to see the anchor locker, walk the side decks, and view day head.
    Even multi million dollar yachts have such faults by few reviewers will draw our attention to them. I like the phrase, "I would like to see..."
    I believe all ocean going vessels should have 1.2m or 4' safety rails with panels, rails, wires or netting to prevent fools falling overboard. A rail at waist height allows the upper body half one's weight, to bend over the rail and the motion of the sea may tip one over, especially if one has a tum' full o' rum.
    I would suggest you invest in a wide angle zoom lens, maybe 16 to 55mm for tight spaces. Do you use a portable vide light on your camera to illuminate dark spaces?
    I like the boat, like your lady, and the video is really great. Not criticisms, just suggestions. 👍👍👍

    Hi John, or should that be Bond, James Bond 🔫 A great effort by Moon yachts. Easy access all areas/stairs. Personally I think the galley is better down, I hate cooking aromas 😮 BRG hull looks sophisticated but the interior marble needs to be lighter, less black veins and same with sinks etc. However it's all academic as the lottery numbers haven't yet come up 😒 Finally what would it's passage making be if it was hybrid battery/motors or even full electric. That huge storage bin is ideal for a battery bank and converters as I personally would be at sail for extended times. I guess I have those traits from my RN late dad. His ashes were scattered in the Bridlington bay as his request by us bobbing up and down in a cobble boat. I need to catch up when you post the Spanish trip as that ship looks the real deal too, certainly no marina queen with that one 😎 Cheers DougT

    Nice cat. I looked over the layouts and I am not crazy about the layouts though. The jamb a lot of rooms in there instead of offering a few really spacious rooms. For that kind of money I would want an enclosed fly bridge though. The main advantage of this one is the fuel capacity. As far as layout I would rather have an Aquila with a full beam master.

  • @marcgatto9675
    @marcgatto9675 Před rokem

    Interior design is modern but dark. Materials choices look high end. Monohulls have an advantage with full beam cabins but this boat has made the most of the narrow cat hulls. Machinery spaces and storage/stowage are super. Would prefer galley aft in main saloon. Assume the 'exploring' is the warm water variety (exploring the Carib?) as she doesnt look to be configured for cold weather and big seas. Very impressive range.

  • @johngauntlett4915

    Beautiful Cat. A few things I would change. 1st I would have built in drop down canvas concealed in the fly bridge top for protection from the elements. 2nd I would have the galley down but extend it to include the crew area. This would give you more space for a breakfast nook and a better place for washer and dryer. I think this would make a good owner / operator set up. A big wish item would be heated seats at the FB helm for those cool mornings cruising the Northeast US coast. Would love to see more underway. Keep up the good work.

What is the polish yards experience previously? What are the building standards? For a newcomer, atleast I heavent heard of them, they could provide a bit more substantial information. And to your questions: definitely galley up because everyone wants to hang around in the kitchen. And yes I would have been on the flybridge, atleast five minutes.

    • @BrianBoniMakes
      @BrianBoniMakes Před 10 měsíci

      From the view in the engine room I'd say composite but from the squareness and number of flat panels in the ships design I would have guessed steel. I bet the yard mostly does industrial models as it lacks a certain flair the more designer boats made entirely from compound curves now have.
