Wow. How absolutely beautiful. So light and airy. I love it! Thank you for sharing.
Simply the most beautiful thing I have ever seen -- truly breath taking!
Love this!! I watched it several times before I tried it....love this technique! Thanks so much for doing this in real time and for sharing. Love your videos!!
I like the idea of using 2 or more palettes for warm and cool colors, and covering your work table with plastic!
This is beautiful, thanks so much for sharing. I can't wait to try it out myself.
Very nice Sumiyo, I like the effect produced by the alcohol droplets.
Beautiful work, Sumiyo!! Enjoyed your music, too!! You have a new fan in Australia!
one of the most beautiful pictures I have seen recently, very subtle :)
Beautiful painting - thanks for sharing
i just LOVE the way you work. I'm starting with watercolor but your style is the style I was looking for. I hate drawing and perfect things. I saw the other dandelion painting, the big one. Just fantastic. Thank you.

+Sumiyo Toribe :) great! I watched this one couple of times. At the end of video I often find my neck twisted hehe... because music is so complimentary to piece. Great! Great.

Nice !
Прекрасная работа♥♥♥
Hello Sumiyo, really nice.
If I may, can I suggest that you add which colors you use?
Congratulations!
Hi, I really love this. May I know, is there any other substitute for the alcohol paper?
Your paintings are beautiful, showing such spirit and spontaneity ... just one question as to what weight of paper do you use --- my guess 300 lb.
what did you use to take off the mask?
すごいー!!
すてきなコメントありがとう!よろこんでもらえてうれしいです。
Thank you from Germany
You are very welcome!!! Thank you for your nice comment : )
which masking Fluid do you use for your work? Will it damage your brush?
awww
I can"t get alcohol in my country please tell me substitute of alcohal that can l use
Amazing, when is the good time to drop the alcohol, right after pour the pigment, or wanting for some damp?
Erica Wang thank you for your comment! You don't need to wait to drop alcohol. Surface needs to be wet for alcohol to push the paint.
Sumiyo Toribe thank you
The alcohol droplet technique did not work for me. It left some rings but did not disperse the paint. I'm wondering what I did wrong?
Did you wet the paper before adding paint?
Nice! what is the masking?
Thank you for watching!! Masking fluid is like a liquid rubber. Masking Fluids prevent the paper from absorbing color. Use a mask fluid before you apply a watercolor wash to protect areas that you want to remain white. Peel away the mask when it is no longer needed. Masking fluid is sometimes called friskets.
What brand of masking fluid do you use?
I use pebeo drawing gum masking fluid: www.jerrysartarama.com/pebeo-drawing-gum?gclid=CjwKCAiA_P3jBRAqEiwAZyWWaO6jLdvGT6_4GehVmBugR7m7vNgR_WaNHglxiAql2rSTyeL8p1sUQhoCu8YQAvD_BwE
It is very good price and quality.
Can we use this technique on canvas..
Watercolors don't work on canvas unless you first cover it with a special medium. I would first try painting on some thin acrylic paint, then while the paint is still wet drop in some alcohol. I'm not sure if the acrylic paint will move and disperse the same as watercolor paint. Hope this helps!
My alcohol isn't working. It has 38%, is that too little?
You need a higher percentage of alcohol. I use 91% and it works great! Hope this helps.
