    One of my great passions is to discover new ways to loosen up my painting style and to share my findings with other painters, so I hope you’ll enjoy this unconventional approach to traditional watercolor painting.
    Using the steps from the last video I am going to show you how those techniques works out when working outside painting some plein air landscape paintings. I’ll show you what to expect if you want to try this approach in your own paintings.

    Hello Painters 🎨
    Using the steps from the last video about adding a little diluted alcohol when painting watercolors - I am going to show you how those techniques work out when doing some plein air landscape paintings. I’ll show you what to expect if you want to try this approach in your own paintings. Grab a cup of warm tea or coffee and come plein air painting with me 🎨🌻☀

    Hey Marie Louise, I haven't been tuning in as much as I want to. Been really busy with the new art studio and gallery. This is splendid! You're painting with watercolors again, your artistic roots. How wonderful. I guess I have some catching up to do. I love how gently you moved the little bug. 😂 That's so typical of you that's what makes you so special ❤

    Hi ! This tea is well deserved! Thank you for sharing your experiment. I will try it this afternoon on a cloudscape which I began this morning and lacks a bit of character…….and a very loud shout out for your channel which always brings a welcome sense of calm in me when I watch 😀

    We are feeling the chill of approaching Fall here as well, so a cuppa is a perfect hospitable suggestion! I am loving this loose approach with the magic of alcohol, as I am desperatley trying to loosen up, having always been much tighter and confined in my approaches (think Gongbi painting). And I enjoyed your little visitor in today's video that you help so gently on to further fields.

    Another inspirational video, thank you for the 100th, they're the best. Your style and teaching are so helpful, I'll be trying this later on. You certainly needed the tea, it looked so cold. It's been warm and sunny here till today but autumn has suddenly arrived now. Thank you and happy painting.

    Thank you Marie Louise, although I paint in acrylic, I think the alcohol will work also, I'm going to give it a try. Love the way you let the paint drift and dawdle, I still tend to want to reproduce what I'm seeing...G

      yes it works with acrylics too if the layers of paint are thin, it's actually much fun. And it's easier to make successive layers using acrylics so I think you'll like it. Happy painting to you 🎨

    What kind of paper and brush are you using?

  • @yogadana9536

    Your painting and videos are wonderful and so inspiring! I've learned a lot and am exploring doing loose landscapes myself. I have a question about your masking tape.. what do you use? The kind I use tends to tear the watercolor paper when I pull it away. Any tips? Thank you so much (from the south of France)

    • @TheDanishPainter
      @TheDanishPainter  Před 10 měsíci +2

      I use different brands from the commercial paint store - ask for the type to use on wallpaper, it is easier to remove and made for paper. But that said I always put the tape down on my desk a few times before putting it on my watercolor paper. It makes it less sticky and helps prevent the paper from ripping. And I also reuse my tape a lot.
