These are the videos that are more fun to watch. This is what it's actually like doing projects at home with the family lol, dropping screws, using step stools the way they shouldn't be used, getting annoyed but hey I'm happy to see kids out helping rather than being stuck inside playing video games.
Stuck inside implies they're forced to be inside. I think it's more lazy parents that don't urge them to go outside. Or using irrational fears to keep the kids indoors. Parents suck these days. But overall, yes, it was real life fun
You and your son gained something much more valuable than a shed.
Also, you need a better ladder. 😁
Thanks for the video
I have been in construction for 35 years. I have never seen a square house. Everything settles, bends, warps, etc. You always have to cut custom lengths on just about everything.
not to mention, when sheds are built, most of the process is done "on the fly" or in a huge rush, so, measurements are never calculated to perfection, and the end result is always a building with messed up dimensions.....but it still works!
Any job you can do that includes your son is well worth it. Having him put in a screw where he missed...perfect!
Great job Robbie. Best way to learn. Watching and helping Dad. Only 1 screw missed! I think that's a bloody good effort.
He did very well.
Nice project. Robbie, you did a great job. Only one screw missed. Considering you had to eyeball the ones your Dad put in and still hit the joist, was a task I would not want. You were a great helper today.
He did a great job!
That was quite the pin-up shot! Do I see a calendar in your future? 😁
Kathy, that's actually a great idea, with their sense of humour can't you just imagine how hilarious it would be ;-)
@@edelcj It would be fantastic!!
Those would be great Christmas presents!
Tall man not used to short man problems.. Nothing better and a good woman to bring you back down to earth🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for this video. Replicated it to a tee in my new shed. Perfect.
Get yourself an impact drill. Game changer
Haha. We have two actually but sometimes its just about what you grab first! Lol
Could have popped a chalk line for the boy and made it make more sense for him. Also, I would recommend putting a ridge vent on that roof.
What i have learned. When measuring wood, measure only 1 would at a time for an exact fit. Don't measure more than 1 wood at once. Because like you said, they are not going to have the same measurements. Basically measure 1, screw it in place. Then go measure the next one.
Thanks for keeping up with the daily videos
You bet
When you put the loft up after the shed is built on 16” centers it’s a pain after the roof deck is on. You have to cut the joist short and split the difference.
It still turned out well. 💯👍🏻👍🏻
You did a good job on the barn Robbie. Way to go ! Next time you take on another project, consider getting mom to help you. 😊😉😆👍
He did a great job!
@@LifeOnBeagleRoad YES, great job Robby 👍
I love you son wants to learn and be a young man we need more of those
Y’all did an awesome job! No doubt it was really hot up there!
Robbie, good job helping!
Congratulations 🎉 Kenny on a great job!!!
Love the video. Helpful, humorous and real. Planning on doing this in 2 months. Thanks for posting.
Glad it was helpful!
That’s a good job done and off the list. My husband has had this on his to do list for nine years.. 😂🤣😂 Chris-Raleigh NC
I had the "Dad and Shine the flashlight in the right place" flashback with this video... lmao I am sure someone can relate... lol Great video and thanks for sharing!
Oh gosh right?! You can't hurt me, I held the flash light for my dad.
That made me sweat and I'm watching from the recliner!!!😅😅😅😆 Job well done!!!!!
Stay safe, cool and hydrated guys!!!!!!!
Thanks! You too!
Awesome...wow even with it being full of stuff..see you can finish a project😁😁👍👍
Mr Turkey came to supervise 😆
Seeing as I'm watching at 12:45am>
Have a great day 🌻🌻🌻
Kenny conquered the loft! Way to go. With help from Robbster, and Courtney comments on 😄
It wouldn't be so hot if you had vents in the gables and a ridge vent 😂😂😂
“August’s Lofty Plans” - I can see the monthly calendar now!
Dopleganger - Aaron Kaufman
First time I've seen one of y'all's videos. Loved it! I'll be back! 😂🤣😊😁
Great thumbnail! You “nailed” it. 😉 Good job Robbie...I would have missed more than one. 👍🏼
Glad you enjoyed it
That turned out real well there Kenny.Dont you just Loft it?
lol!
It's a little extra work but I always drill pilot holes - never drop a screw that way
Depends on the day… but I hear you!
"Stand up and hold it numb nuts". 👍
Mighty fine loft! ☺☺
Great job you guys
Now the nay sayers can not say you dont finish projects. Okay, if they do, you can reference this video!
Exactly!
Nice job kenny !
Ah the joys of “plumb.” It’s not square - but it’s plumb. Aka, 7 million adjustments later annnndddd *sigh* fits like a glove 🤣
I miss having my kids helping me on projects.
Even when we get frustrated, it ends up being the memories they bring up later.
@@LifeOnBeagleRoad My youngest, a daughter, was the most positive and attentive.
She now does plumbing and appliance repairs in their home.
let the boy do it
how do you like that expandable work table???? the one that is advertised on tv......
I wonder how much weight the loft would safely hold ?
Those are 2x6x12. If the span is less than 11' across they should be able to hold around 450lbs. I would go a little less than that so that they do not sag. For a span of 12 feet you need at least a 2x8x12.
Well I guess that rules out hiding an air mattress up there to hide from the kids 😆
When it gets cooler!
Nice shed!! Where did you get those doors? Trying to get some for my shed that am building.
With the thumbnail comment I'm thinking HoA needs a sexy homesteaders of youtube calendar. lol
Hopefully you'll see this, but curious on what size sidewalls you have on that shed? Trying to decide between 7 or 8 foot... I just keep thinking 7 foot would be fine even with a loft on one end..
Ours are 8 ft but I think 7 would be fine! The loft would be easier to reach at that height.
@@LifeOnBeagleRoad Thank, just trying not to make a mistake with going with 7... I didnt look was the shed DIY also, or prebuilt / installed..
What thickness of OSB did you use three-quarter inch half-inch, …..?
Yep!
@@LifeOnBeagleRoad 3/4”” or 1/2” thickness? Thanks
Whoops didn’t read the whole way. 3/4”. Could get away with 1/2” but we had 3/4” left on ver from another project.
@@LifeOnBeagleRoad Thank you very much. I appreciate the video and the way y’all made it.👍🏻
Thanks! No problem!!
Can I see a for sale sign in the background of these outside shots?
Nope, just our farm sign.
Check off another project for Kenny ☆☆
Dude. Dropping screws whilst screwing up on a ladder is the most frustrating thing.
The worst!
🤣🥲🤭
😆🤪
👍
You so made my day for turning that board for all the wrong reasons. so much easier putting 2 full sheets up and push them to the outside leaving the gap between for easier access in back. I laugh at u hahahahaha
OPEN A WINDOW DUFUS
