- Sega Ninja (also known as The Ninja) is a 1985 arcade game released by Sega. The game features Princess Kurumi (くるみ姫 Kurumi-Hime), the titular female ninja, battling enemies using throwing knives and throwing stars.[4] The game was originally released as Ninja Princess (忍者プリンセス), before the revised edition titled Ninja Princess 1 Mega Ban - Ninja (忍者プリンセス1メガ版 忍者), which became Sega Ninja/The Ninja in the English version.

Who is here because of the book ready player 2
Guilty!
Yeah, just had to see the game for my self
I had to see it. Guilty.
Same... I had to see it for myself.
yes hello there... ;-)
Had this at my local bowling alley in Melbourne back in 1985. Absolutely one of the best arcade games of all time !!
Beat the highscore and get a free pizza!
Ninja Princess aka Sega Ninja was my number 1 favorite Arcade Game of all-time that I played a lot at Galloping Ghost Arcade
Never knew the Ninja had an arcade version. Loved it on the Master System, and now finding out this was on the Sega 1000 system as well.
This was my favorite game on the Master System, and this is the first time I'd ever seen the arcade version, either.
This game is so good, and people hardly even mention it!
Classic Arcade game!
a beautiful looking game and aesethic for '85
This game was remade for the SEGA Master System, but the character was made Male.
I like ninja princess
I wonder if kid Nikki for the nes is a part 2 to this
Ernest Cline was here
This must have been absolutely obscure in the U.S. I've been to a hundred different arcades. i was practically raised in them through the second half of the 80's and most of the 90's, and never once did I see a Sega Ninja or Ninja game in any of them.
I have one
there's absolutely no reason for this to have been in any American arcade in the 80s. we weren't exactly super loving and welcoming to the Japanese or Japanese culture at the time, remember what was going on with automobiles ... people were buying cheaper Japanese and Korean cars instead of US made. This general sentiment caused most arcade owners to eschew overly Japanese-styled ANYTHING.
And yes I know that hibachi-style restaurants started to become popular at the same time.
Cute ‘em up
I must admit......Ninja Princess is not the only female heroine who can hold her own.
Well, in 85 she pretty much was (you had to wait until 86 before Athena came along in her namesake title).
I have this game in a Robotron cab.
Nice! Been a while since I've owned any coin-ops myself, but it was great when I did. (^_~)
Lo giocherò oggi
anyone know if available to play on PC/Mac today ??
Still only through emulators such as MAME as far as I know. (^_^)

If u re here is because you are reading ready player teo
how many are here becasue of ready player two.
I played it on SEGA Master System back in 1987. It was one of my favourite games. I also loved Phantasy Star on the same system. Ready Player One and Ready Player Two are really nerdy considering all the background info.... Some aspects of the SMS remake are even better than the arcade version: The music is funkier and the scrolled map in between levels is more beautiful
The SMS port also featured a quest like puzzle! You had to find the five green scrolls to enter the castle. Two of the scrolls were hidden.
