For two reasons.
1......eating shepherds pie is not a "formal' occasion. No need to dress up......hells bells man, you can eat it standing naked in your kitchen if you want to!!!
2....you dont have to put up with annoying relatives from out of state that will be staying at your house for ten days to two weeks.
