  • 2022 I20 Asta vs I20 N-line detailed walkaround | Diffrence in Asta vs N-line | Car Quest
Hyundai has launched the new i20 in India with a wide range of engines and gearboxes. There are three engines on offer - two petrols and a diesel - and apart from a 5- and 6-speed manual, there's also a clutchless manual or iMT, a twin-clutch automatic, and an IVT or CVT automatic as well.
The new Hyundai i20 2022 is being offered across three engine options. First up is the 1.2-litre petrol that's been a mainstay for the i20 since it was launched in 2008. Matched to a five-speed manual this engine has been tuned to produce 82bhp/114Nm while if you get it with the CVT, the engine produces 88bhp/114Nm. Moving up the chain you can also have it with Hyundai's 1.0-litre TGDi engine that produces 118bhp/172Nm and can be had with either a six-speed iMT or a seven-speed DCT. Lastly, you also get the 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel producing 99bhp and 240Nm. This engine is offered only with a six-speed manual.
The third-generation Hyundai i20 facelift is being offered in 19 petrol variants and five diesel engine variants.

The all-new i20 features edgy and sharp character lines that exhibit a confident and futuristic appeal. The vehicle features a parametric jewel pattern grille, LED projector headlamps, and LED DRLs that creates a premium and flamboyant interest. The strong character lines on the hood give the vehicle a definitive presence. The vehicle is equipped with projector fog lamps with air curtains to offer enhanced safety and aerodynamics.
The side profile offers a distinctive charm with R16 diamond cut alloy wheels and flyback chrome beltline design that adds to the hatchback's unique charm. The side sill garnish features the i20 logo, while the shark fin antennae on the roof give it a sleek look. Hyundai has added the i20 Logo in the headlamps and the tail lamps, adding to the distinguished identity of the all-new i20. At the rear, the new i20 features Z-shaped LED tail lamps with connecting chrome garnish to complete the sporty design element.
In terms of dimensions, the new Hyundai car has a length of 3,995mm, width of 1,775mm, and height of 1,505mm. The premium hatchback has a wheelbase of 2,580mm.
    Hyundai i20 interior
The Hyundai i20 has replaced not just the 'Elite i20' model but the moniker as well. The new i20 is loaded to the gills with equipment such as all-LED lighting, 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, sunroof, 10.25-inch touchscreen (8-inch for lower variants), a Bose sound system, auto climate control, cruise control, cooled glovebox, tyre pressure monitoring system, front and rear armrest, push-button start/stop, semi-digital instrument cluster, and air purifier. The BlueLink connected tech is complimentary for 3-years. It features remote engine start/stop, cabin pre-cool and geo-fencing among others.
The new i20 is built on the light-weight K platform that is derived through a combination of 66 per cent advanced high strength steel.
The standard safety feature list includes - dual airbags front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and driver and passenger seatbelt reminder with pre-tensioner and load limiter. Additionally, depending on the variant the i20 offers six-airbags, hill assist control, vehicle stability management, electronic stability control, TPMS, emergency stop signal, IRVM, and driver rearview monitor. The new i20 offers 311 litres of boot space.
The new i20 2020 is available in four variants: Magna, Sportz, Asta and Asta (O)
Hyundai's N Line models are offered only in select markets across the world. Hence, the introduction of the i20 N Line in our market is significant. More so, as it's the first time ever that such a vehicle will make it to the Indian roads. All N Line cars come as 'performance-oriented' versions of regular cars and are not full-blown performance versions like the N cars. That said, these pack in all the goodies from the standard road-going version along with features to stand out. This indeed is a great idea to tap into the potential new-age millennial and Gen Z buyers. They add to a sizable chunk of sales and would prefer a distinct model to stand out. The i20 N Line then, we believe, is a good proposition to do that and give a taste of Hyundai's 'N' brand before it hopefully gets proper go-faster N cars.
The i20 is available with Hyundai's wonder warranty program which allows buyers to pick from 3year/1 lakh km, 4years/50,000km and 3year/40,000km duration.
This Hyundai i20 sports takes on the likes of the baleno , altroz & Jazz and all other premium B-segment hatchbacks.
