Trust me - you DEFINITELY don't want to live there. I grew up in places like that for a few years when my parents lost their jobs. My parents were so disgusted by people's attitudes and excuses, that they both ended up taking on 2 jobs each, until they were able to create their own cleaning services company, and moved out. Too many times, a lot of the residents don't have their priorities straight, and would rather live to complain, than work to find solutions. It's not easy, but all that energy that goes into complaining, could go towards working whatever jobs to help get you out of current situations. Just try your hardest to stay focused and understand that it takes time.

I wonder what all of these programs are that lower people's rent to nothing or let them get 4 months behind then pay it. The only assistance I've ever seen was during COVID and it came with a ridiculous intake. We had to provide a years worth of bank statements, explain every expenditure, get a lecture about every cent spent then only got help with one month's rent. I am grateful for that help, no one owes us anything, so don't get me wrong. It just boggles my mind when I see so many people getting their rent paid fully or living somewhere with months and months of arrears.
