The DCBL Stadium formally known as Naughton Park is the home of Widnes Vikings RLFC,Widnes FC and Everton Ladles Youth Team..this ground has seen many great players and musicians play here like Martin Offiah,Jonathan Davies,Kurt Sorensen,Big Jim Mills on the home team,other great players have played on here like Alex Murphy,Ellery Hanley,Peter Sterling,Brett Kenny,Mal Maninga to name a few..concerts that include Bryan Adams and Elton John have played here also..some of the most memorable games like in 1979 when Widnes beat the mighty Australian touring team 11.10 and the title decider in 1989 against Wigan in front of nearly 20,000 fans..Widnes were a very successful team in the 70s,80s and early 90s winning lots of trophies earning them the nickname The Cup Kings..During this period Widnes played in the Challange Cup Final at Wembley 7 times in 9 years winning 4 of those finals..they became World Club Champions in 1989 beating the mighty Cambera Raiders...success dried up in the mid 90s and Widnes are now a struggling Championship side..Widnes FC however are growing fast and are looking good for the future..Music Composed by Colin Wright..thanks for watching.
