Zero likes Stanley because he is isn't like the other boys bullying and teasing Zero. Stanley likes Zero in a way because he is the only child and he sees Zero as a little brother (I guess or maybe?) Yeah he is overprotective because like I said Stanley isn't a mean boy like Zig-zag, Armpit, Squid and Magnet. Zero also sees Stanley as a older brother. They both protected each other.
