- The team at @GrainfatherAllGrainBrewing have been busy working on new product development and to kick off 2023 we see a BIG upgrade to the G70.
The G70²
www.themaltmil...
G70² features big changes to mashing, taking lessons learnt form the G40. There is also some subtle tweaks to the original design. It retains all the features we know and love from the original like the powerful pump, wifi controller and the massive counterflow chiller!
All backed up by Grainfather's awesome 3 year warranty. Which we support and facilitate through our own customer service team.
You can see in this video just how capable this new system in in brewing great tasting home brew beer at home.

i only wish it had the facility to distill, like the g30, with an Alembic dome to suit, i would defo buy if it did
So the take away from this video is don't try to use it for standard size batches, use a G40 instead?
It can be used for 30l batches, no need for the smaller pipework either to achieve this. If you are mainly brewing smaller batches the G40 would be better for you but some wish to have the scope to brew larger batches. Great that GF cater for some many different scales
You’re going to need to start offering 10, 20, 30, 40 etc litre options for the recipe kits 😉
I believe that the new malt pipe is almost impossible to clean inside the barrier that covers the side holes...
It can be cleaned either by using a wire handled brush, like those you would use for hoses and pipe work or by having in place while you run a cleaning cycle on the G70 itself 👍🏻
How do you avoid bottom
Plate lift? I always get malt residue to the boil.
There is a slight design change on the filter, sortwd
@@themaltmiller8438 but my g40 does it. Am I doing anything wrong?
Will we be able to buy only the new malt pipe, for the old G70, and will it fit?
Yes & Yes 👍🏻
@@themaltmiller8438 can't wait to geht one. Do you know when it's on the market/available in ur shop?
@@knetit right now buddy!
@@themaltmiller8438 that's the answer I wanted to hear! Thanks mate 😊
So the only real change is the grain basket and bottom plate. Looks a miles better solution
There’s also a change to the sight glass and recirculation, now it’s the same as the G40.
I have the original G70. So assuming I bought the updated grain basket I could use it in the same way though? Would be nice to get rid of the malt pipe
@@themaltmiller8438 is the updated grain basket available on it’s own yet?
I second that!
When do you think it’ll go on sale?
It’s available now, follow the links in our description 👍🏻
Can the recirculation pipe be used for transfer of wort to the fermenter?
It could do but generally it would go through the big counter flow chiller to the FV.
