When applying decals, use a drop of dishwasher liquid in a small bowl w 1/4 cup of water. Wet surface if body were you will apply decal the dip deaclnin water as well, set decal in place. If you screw it up, you can lift and try again, when happy with placement, gently squeegee water out from under decal with a paper towel and let dry.

I recommend the GPM shocks (and most other GPM upgrades). I had the shapeways 3d printed A arms, and destroyed them first run. Now using the GPM aluminum ones plus a bunch of there other CW-01 parts. I run the shapeways rear suspension thingy though, and an aluminum cross brace on the front end. For a motor I have a Tamiya BZ Superstock hooked to a Hobbywing 1060 using lipo batteries. It's fast and super fun to drive.

Great build video as usual. Funny coincidence: I have a lunchbox that's fitted with every single upgrade that you mentioned during your build, with the exception of the servo mount upgrade. Additionally, it has a diff locking block and an extended lower rear shock brace from Shapeways as well. Very fun build.

TBLE-02S can take 10,5R brushless motor with a fan with no problems and it works great with 23T brushed. HW 1060 is a gamble with quality control. TBLE-02S is ok with Lipos if you use Low Voltage Alarm, so no problem there either.

Can you still get the working head lights for this kit? Great fun just as its getting dark. I built one of these in an hour and a half when I was 13. I painted mine purple. I sprayed the body first and had the battery on charge as I built the rest of the kit. I had built a few RC cars before this that were much more complicated so this was a walk in the park. The large handled black screw drivers from Tamiya are great as they give more leverage which came in handy as I was a small 13 year old. The black side cutters Tamiya make are good too. I always used Vaseline as grease. I don't know if that's good but none of my cars have ever sounded dry or had anything wear out. During construction I installed metal bearings instead of the nylon ones. I did upgrade to oil filled shocks . To stiffen the springs you can add ball point pen Springs on the shaft. I recall having 20 plus minutes of run time with the stock motor.

Hi, I have a vintage midnight pumpkin, and wanted to update the electronics, it currently has a 280 type motor and some really old style receiver/ESC/speed controller all in one. Could someone steer me in the right direction to upgrade all of this and also the steering servo too please? Help would be much appreciated. Battery wise, it runs on 8 AA batteries that are housed in a latch underneath the car.

This kit is worth buying just for the body. The rest of it just barely lands in the world of hobby grade. That plastic chassis really looks like a Chinese toy. Phillips head screws are never a good sign, ha. Still love many of these old rigs though.
