This movie is one of the greatest ever, so I wish more people watched this, and felt how they’ve lived. This Jim’s song would remind us how they live in their time.
Terrific! I love hearing this sung by female vocalists.
I saw this film when I was very young and I still love it.
Song is just as popular now as it was in the 60's.. Glad I was able to see Jimmy in Miami 68...

These women are excellent! Definitely one of my favorite versions!!! This song is my all-time favorite & this band"s cover is in my top 5. Look up version by Barbara Keith (70's) which was my intro to this song. And checkout instrumental version by Luna Lee.

I'm glad someone else knows about this. Ever since the first time I heard it, it has been my favorite version. No offense to Jimi Hendrix fans. I just cannot seem to get it on Apple music or anywhere else.
I prefer it to jimi too.
Also Bandits was one of my fave movies in my early teens

@@nataliezitzmann6047 Dir ist aber schon klar, dass die Nummer von Hendrix diese Performance ganz massiv beeinflusst hat, oder? Oder um es mal anders zu sagen: Alle großen Musiker, die dieses Stück gemacht haben, waren von Hendrix inspiriert. Und ich gehe mal davon aus, dass selbst Dylan es gewesen ist. Interessant ist eine Version von Santana, die er gemeinsam mit Dylan 1984 live in Offenbach abgeliefert hat. Und ich habe davon sogar eine Platte... *grins*
@@melchiorvonsternberg844 ganz blöd bin ich auch nicht. Ich hab nur gesagt das mir die version besser gefällt. Genauso wie ich The Corrs version von Little Wing lieber mag. Hendrix war genial, aber gesanglich nicht ganz so stark. Ich denke das ich deshalb die anderen lieber hab.

@@nataliezitzmann6047 Zuerst... Kein Mensch hat behauptet, du wärst blöd! Und Hendrix war mehr so der Mann für den Sprechgesang. Man würde ja auch keinen Rapper mit einem Opersänger vergleichen wollen. Da zieht er natürlich klar den Kürzeren. Und von Dylan selbst, wollen wir gar nicht erst sprechen. Aber durch seine Art zu singen, hat Hendrix mehr für den späteren Rap getan, als es denen selbst bewusst ist. Und über Geschmack, lässt sich gleich gar nicht streiten. Aber aus Sicht eines Musikers, bleibt mein Statement, natürlich so bestehen. Und gerade bei der Musik, kommt es bedeutend mehr auf die Idee an, als auf die Ausführung, findest du nicht?
Jasmin Tabatabai the only member of the on-film band to play in the soundtrack recordings, IIRC...though probably not the lead guitar here. The musicians of the cast apparently did tour together. Pity this film is so-little seen in the States...title confusion with the historical crime-drama probably doesn't help.

One of my all time favorites,I play it a lot.These guys do a pretty good job,love female singers.
I'm 72 and here's my old man opinion, Dylan wrote and recorded the song on his John Wesley Harding album in '68. It is still the masterpiece that others try to improve on. Again, just my opinion, the best cover of this comes from Neil Young.

One detail I love in this cover is that as non-native speakers, they either don't recognize or can't bring themselves to reproduce the nonstandard English of "I can't get no relief," so they leave out the double negative. They're Bob Dylan lyrics! He wants you to think he's a farm boy from Appalachia instead of a middle-class schoolboy from the Upper Midwest! Embrace the colloquialism, fictional ladies! But it's still a stunning performance.
no relief means any relief here, so it's not really non-standard English. It might not be the Queen's English though!
@@fig7047 In older British English, it goes 'I can not get any relief; none.' Sort of a negative with two different emphases by modern standards.
But this was written, as you say, by Bob Dylan; he had his own ideas about words and their meanings. This song is a prime example; love it, in the several versions and re-arrangements I've found.
