It was so tense that it felt as if it was going on forever. Finally, the screen went black as if there was going to be a jump-scare but instead it was the sound of Nicolas Cage breathing heavily and doing these strange purring noises. Finally, Nicolas Cage can be seen entering the frame but the camera is only focused on his hair and shoulders. The trailer then ends.

But I rewatched him in Mandy (talk about a hellish acid trip) His funny “psychotic” rants…I believe will be turned up a notch & actually work incredibly well for a terrifying killer I haven’t anticipated a damn film like this, I don’t think-ever. Been excited for them. Maybe The Dark Knight when I saw art work on Ledger in the closest- But…I’m already wishing this has been out

That they never, not even in the credits, mentioned…(well in case you haven’t seen it)-they not ONCE mentioned an EXTREMELY relevant actor at the time-& HE’S the “guy” Helped turn up the “OMG WTF?!” factor quite a bit But not as much as the forever meme “WHAT’S IN THE BOX? WHAT’S IN THE F-ING BOX!” Not seeing Nick Cage? & that his methods are completely unorthodox apparently? Yeah, it’s DEF helping pull me into this film (If you haven’t seen Se7en-this is exactly like Se7en-“maybe” even darker I’m pretty sure you’ve seen it though, but you never know)
This movie actually uses the same trick seen in Eddy Murphy's incomparable 2000 masterpiece "The Nutty Professor 2: Meet The Klumps". Just like in the Nutty Professor, Nic Cage is actually playing every role in this movie. You see him a lot throughout the trailer, you just can't always recognize him.

I love Maika and the director too, but I really have to commend you guys for this marketing strat. Neon as a whole has been fully on my radar since you’ve started this. Well done!

Nick cage really did a 180 in his career. He fell off there for some years in the early 2000s. And was looked at as a decent b list actor. But hes back at it making great films. Ive really liked all his films as of late. Pig, Renfield, Joe and dream scenario are all fantastic Cage films imo. So im hyped for this film.

The marketing team of NEON has cracked the code and changed the game. I have never wanted to see a move so badly ever. This is the type of suspense and nerve wrecking anxiety that I want for a horror movie.
Caught a version of this half of the trailer in theaters in front of Civil War. Probably the most mystifying trailer I had ever seen in a long time. It's got me excited for this movie.
I don’t know if this makes sense but It’s like Nicholas Cage is a superpower that Nicholas Cage is trying to harness but just can’t seem to get there. It’s like that massive uncomfortable bubble of gas that you are trying to get out in one huge record breaking magical fart, but instead it just comes out in many tiny little squeakers that are making no difference to your discomfort. I love him and hope this one does it for him.

This is like the reverse of the Abigail trailers. People complained that they gave away the twist and even the whole movie, while this? It has Maika Monroe and Nicholas Cage and apparently some occult stuff. That doesn’t exactly see me on seeing it, at all. They may just as well have dropped a poster that was mostly shadows, and filmed that for two minutes.
The ultimate play would be to never drop a proper trailer for this film
