We had these offshore at several locations. They’ve been there for years and years (probably around 15 or so now) with no cover over them, sitting in salt air running 24/7/365 and the only thing that we’ve ever had to do to them is change belts and oil. They are well built and very reliable.

Nice - got the same compressor! I think the issue with PVC is that when it gets brittle - perhaps from sunlight, it can shatter - if it happens when people are around - sharp shrapnel. That's why it's not generally recommended for air, but if it's in your shed, probably not a big deal.

PVC does get brittle from UV exposure, and explodes throwing shrapnel out. There are OSHA documents out there outlining the issue and banning the use of PVC for shop air. Obviously your home garage is not regulated by OSHA, but this is one area it is prudent to follow the guidelines.

You might try mounting your regulator to the wall and putting a heavy rubber hose from it to the compressor, it might improve the life span of your regulator.

Yes. I have the blast cabinet from Harbor Freight and it handles it with no issues.

Glad to hear it worked good for spraying cars and running air tools. I just ordered one because I plan on painting my s10 with it but was looking also at the 80 gallon as on one video I saw they didn't recommend a 60 for painting.

I’m not sure where you live or how cold it gets their in the winter but how does that SAE 40 oil do in cold weather with start up and running vs during the summer heat. I’m just curious since I’ve seen many here use SAE 30 oil but since I’m looking to purchase this same compressor the kit they recommended it the EWK-2 that has SAE 40 oil now like you use.
