James is usually spot on, but saying he lost battles against DCL in merseyside derby? Virgil won 10/15 aerial duals and won 100% of his ground duals. He was class that game

Son is obviously clear of those strikers. Like The Athletic said, Son has outperformed his xg by 23 goals, more than ANYONE in the Prem since 2018. Of course most of that time as a winger, but as a striker this season he’s on fire!
It’s disgrace listing Son with that players.

Month 10: Got some ideas/games for future SDS episodes. I've been averaging 200-300 likes when I comment this so hopefully someone sees this. Love the pod boys!
1) Random Football Category Draft Challenge:
This is similar to the iconic and world cup draft challenges, but each round would be a random football category with a different pool of players. You will have a total of 11 random rounds. For example:
- players to never win the Ballon D'or (excluding goalies): Maldini, Raul, Henry, Xavi, Baresi, etc.
- Barca 08/09 starting XI
- English Midfielders
2) Start, Sub, Sell | Everyting but players edition:
Similar format to classic version, but here you would do celebrations, greatest moments, freekicks, iconic hairstyles, etc.
2.5) Start, Sub, Sell | Speical situation edition:
Same format, but you will start, sub, sell based on a specific situation. In example:
Game is tied 0-0 you have a freekick right outside the box. Who will you start, sub , or sell?
- Messi, Beckham, Ronalidno
Some questions I thought of that are both related and not related to football: Who would you want as captain in a final? Goalkeeper you would want in a pk shooutout? What player you would want to have in a pub fight?

Them not putting Micky Van de Ven in the top 5 CB debate for this season is crazy. Dude has been instrumental in Tottenham's squad, and is a decent reason why they are 1st.
And them not putting son which is the second top scorer for the first debate
@@Majin532 I know son is playing ST this season, but he's been a left wing/inside forward for a long time so its understandable that he'd get missed out in this grouping. Also he'd very clearly be the best one out of all of them, so there isn't much room for debate

Alvarez clears that list. Abz just started learning the process of football , i dont blame him.
Alvarez has been the solution and shown variety in his game on multiple occasions. Think back to this season against Newcastle and his goal, or his goal against Real Madrid in the UCL last season, he’s unlucky he has the best striker in the league in front of him cause he’s a killer himself.
Alvarez is objectively a better footballer than Haaland, just not as good a pure striker, still City would win the league and another treble with Alvarez as number 9

James was great throughout the video but that CB segment was poor from him, especially the things he said about VVD. He had DCL quiet throughout the game so I'm not sure as to what game he was watching!
I like James, but his point about Van Dijk being bullied in the air by Calvert-Lewin is nonsense, VVD won 10/15 aerial duels vs Everton while DCL only won 5/18 aerial duel and subbed off in 61’ minute

Abs struggling to explain why Alvarez is last is painful
Tbh his argument was just bad but the position isn’t crazy.
Alvarez is so flexible which makes him such an interesting footballer but all Abz needed to do is say a similar argument to James in that we haven’t seen Alvarez as the #9 in the PL yet.
He’ll always be a second striker or wide forward when in this Pep team because of Haaland and because of that he isn’t the focal point in the same way Toney, Watkins, and Isak is for their teams. (Jesus had moments but not at a consistent lvl.)
Alvarez is by far the best footballer but we haven’t seen a sample size of him as the main striker or goal threat yet to justify putting him above the other guys on this list.
Dias has yet to go a premier league season without winning it. 3 in a row changed city’s defence after kompany.

A crazy what if for Bayern/Chelsea is that Hazard was going to sign with Tottenham but Chelsea were back in the CL because of their win. Hazard chose to go to Chelsea because Spurs were no longer in the CL. Spurs could have had Hazard and Bale in the same team.

Criminally underrating Isak on here, he is easily top 3 out of these, and I'd argue number 1 especially considering his all round game.
I mean just look at the game against Dortmund in the CL, if Isak doesn't come off injured in the 15th minute, Newcastle win that game

as a pure defender i put Dias over those other guys simply because of not only how stable he is, but also how he can elevate the guys around him. just that alone puts him high and when you see performances like the one last year against bayern or 20/21 against PSG you're reminded why he's the best defender in the world.

Trailing 2-1 heading into the last 10 mins of the game, takes the ball off the volley and smashes past Martinez. One of the best World Cup finals and what that goal meant for that game

What has Isak done to be ahead of Nunez? Nunez had more G/A last season and they are tied this season. Isak is once again out injured, while Nunez remains fit. In 2-3 years Nunez has the potential to be ahead of every single player named here.
