All Enemies of Wolfenstein (1992-2019)

- In this video I show you my most ambitious project so far: A comparison of the more than 270 opponents you can encounter in the Wolfenstein games! The games I used are "Wolfenstein 3D" including "Spear of Destiny" and Mission Pack (1992-1994), "Return to Castle Wolfenstein" (2001), "Wolfenstein" (2009), "Wolfenstein: The New Order" (2014), "Wolfenstein: The Old Blood" (2015), "Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus" including the "Freedom Chronicles" (2017-2018), "Wolfenstein: Youngblood" (2019) and "Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot" (2019). I leave out the ancient Wolfenstein from 1981 and the mobile versions, because the old versions are not in 3D and the mobile versions are turn-based RPGs. Comparability would not be given in my opinion.
In addition to the typical soldiers of the World War II, there are also robot and monster variants in most Wolfenstein games. Wolfenstein 2 and Return to Castle Wolfenstein offer the most enemy types, the latter remaining my favorite: the atmosphere, the variety of missions, enemies and weapons, the music and the graphics performance of RTCW for its time are still great. Wolfenstein Youngblood has the peculiarity that the opponents have levels and "tiers" that are supposed to make the game more challenging, which ultimately does not help.

The tiered enemies system in Youngblood makes the enemies bullet sponges and really gave it an arcade-ish feel
I wish Youngblood gets more appreciation it’s really fun

@@Casual2020Enjoyer it doesnt deserve appreciation really, poor writting, lazy gameplay loop, bullet sponge enemies, you need to keep leveling up and collecting coins just to get upgrades, the sisters dont shut up for a second and love to spam the word "fuck" everytime because they're edgy teenagers, its just bad design all around.

Return to castle of Wolfenstein from 2001 aged very well, its still looks good.
Yes, and controlls is still pretty modern, these PC games from 2001 - 2004 are better done than games from 2006 - 2010 which are sometimes unplayable today because it aged very bad. I am still playing RTCW, FarCry 1 and such games. Good think about old id tech games is that you can easily set modern resolution (even 4K) or change fov just with simple editing of .cfg files. In modern games it's sometimes more complicated change fov, I hate that.

I like the Wolfenstein series because I can take out my pent-up anger and frustration on enemies that I don’t feel guilty about killing. Except the dogs.

I love how a lot of the enemies in Return to Castle Wolfenstein put on their best theatrical death, which is hilarious to say the least
i love how Wolfenstein 2009 is linked to New Order and the rest...there are still some morons out there who say it isn't...but i'm like "hello, duh...Caroline Becker...hello...anyone in there?" (picture me imitating Biff from back to the future).

In terms of design, i think the best Soldaten design goes to Machinegames, i loved those dieselpunk styled armor and it's a nice reference to the Helghast Assault Infantry from Killzone, as well as the Wolf Brigade from Jin-Roh.
I liked the more realistic aproach from rtcw the most.

I think Wolfenstein (2009) is very underrated. I loved that game.
They should have left the village hub concept away. That made it a drag

Won't lie, it's inferior to RtCW and TNO+TOB, but gods, do I want it to return to Steam/GOG at the expense of kriffing Youngblood. Raven Software games are admittedly charming no matter what.

Love how they kept loyal to that 1st mission in New Order and all the enemy types seen in that mission are identical to the ones seen in the Old Blood
Well, The old blood takes place before the events in The new order because its a prequel and it shows(SPOILER ALERT) how they got the location to deathshead compound.

@@goldenjebboni1331 enemies in the old blood are actually different tho to the ones in new order 1946. Supersoldat is a proto design, common soldier is slightly different, new enemy types ect

I agree %100..... the story after the new order become a utter crap. Now, the game is more a excuse justo to bark some heavy bad words together with an unnecesary kind of movie's story (btw you can spend more time looking the cinematics than playing). They should do a proper remake of RTWC with actual graphics and less flying crap or futuristic bullshit.
I always remember the scene at the airfield when suddenly the ss paratroops coming in.. I was so scared when I was a boy and played this, it's my fav wolfenstein moment. Rtcw is the best 😎

Anyone remember how hard RtCW was? That part with the two Ubersoldaten screwed me up even on the easiest difficulty. Only with the tesla gun I stood a chance.
the ubersoldaten with teslas were damn cheaters, when you use a tesla it's pretty much ineffective past twenty yards, while they could snipe you with a tesla from across the goddamn map

You did miss one specimen, though - the "radioactive vapor" monster from the second SoD mission pack (it replaces the ghosts) :P
If there are two flaws of it, it's that we sure got a lack of notable Nazi human bosses as the games went on, all while seeing the downgrading of enemy types and perhaps intelligence from The New Colossus onwards.
Can't blame 'em, those things are quite forgettable.
