    Eric, I truly appreciate your research and information. I found your page doing some research of my own and you manage to change my point of view. I’m in SC and I own a dump truck (wanted to be DBE). I’m considering Federal Programs, thank you again! Rosendo

    The simple fact that these programs exist keeps racism alive! A level playing field would be nice. Just my opinion. Great video!

      Racism has been alive since the “founding” of America. Unfortunately, It will be around until the end of time. There has N E V E R been a leveled playing field... Literally NEVER

    Thanks for this information... However do you have to be in business for a certain amount of time before applying for the 8a or can a first time business without any business history apply for the 8a?

    • @EricCoffie
      @EricCoffie  Před 7 lety +2

      No. New companies can apply to be 8a certified. Also, 8a is only a certification. You can still do federal contracts without having 8a. For example I work as a subcontractor and teaming partner with 8a certified firms. Great way to build experience without needing a certificate!

  • @mannychristina
    @mannychristina Před 3 lety +1

    Great details - currently awaiting approval for DBE and MBE however did not consider the 8A as of yet as I had heard I needed to have some experience. Worth doing the certification right now as well?
    Also, Do you have something on invoicing and how you ensure collections is much healthier?
    Thx

    Hey Eric. Do you still think in 2020 these pros/cons apply for the most part? Has your perspective changed? Also, can you direct me to what programs through federal government will assist with the 8a certifications and business development please

    • @EricCoffie
      @EricCoffie  Před 4 lety

      No still the same. In fact I am even more concerned now by the state contracts than ever given that they are facing bankruptcy issues behind COVID related expenses. Amber watch my 8a business videos please before considering.
