We just bought a 59K and love it. It has plenty of storage under the beds for tools, grill, chairs fit over the front cab food and clothes. We don’t ever have to store anything in the halls.

Great Video just forgot a few of the Special K features 😃
You didn’t use any of the pizza oven space, the wine cellar or under the passenger bed. You missed that the beds also have a tilt up system on them for watching TV or reading. The newer twin beds are tiny!! So if you’re a bigger person you’ll definitely want to be making that bed up to the bigger size.

I thought this would be the van for me but when I looked at one (in late 2019) the showstopper for me was that at 6 ft 2 inches I could not get comfortable in the driver's seat. If I can't drive it I can't buy it! Also had a couple of issues with the sofa beds. I settled on a Coachmen Beyond 22c with Lithium batteries and an induction cooker, and love it.

This was THE one I came sooo close to buying with the awning windows. Over time, I've been convinced the GL floor plan is what I would buy, had I not bought the Embassy. Then, Winnebago ruined it with that dumb 2022 redesign of the shower floor and dimensions along with other dumb changes. Only a few CZcamsrs go in depth in the smart way you have. Your life on the road full time sure helps others who just may not have such insight. Nice work!🍻

Hey Scott, thanks for another well thought out and very helpful video. Your hard work and prep are clearly evident in each one. Between the K & G floorplan, I would prefer the G and w/ as much lithium as possible. Insulation would be another important criteria for me. How easily can I get and keep the desired temp. I will say if I had a K floor plan, one of the first things I'd do is move the lagun table mount further down to alleviate the conflict of getting into the freezer. Thankfully, it's an easy fix. I am liking the safety and convenience upgrades in the new Ram chasis. It looks they would add quit a bit to the driver experience. Have a lovely day, Scott.

Hi Scott. Love your videos. We looked over both the GL and the KL and wound up buying the KL last week. It just so much more open, with far more of a panoramic view. The beds are comfortable and very relaxing as you take in the view from the many windows. The GL is very cramped, cut up, and two people can’t really enjoy that tight bed in the back. We keep our chairs and grill under the bed. And we have a Golden Retriever who comes with us. Much more room. We don’t fit in the GL at all. I’d like a bigger refrigerator, but once you do that, you block the fantastic views and cut up the van. Besides, not everybody needs a case of beer in the fridge! 😉 There is also good storage in the back. More than enough for our needs.
So yeah, some people need a mobile office, but we like the Travato to relax. So the KL is our choice. But I guess that’s why Winnebago had the sense to make two floor plan choices!

So interesting. I have never liked that floor plan, but that’s just my personal taste.
My dream van is the Panoramic RV because it has the lounge, like yours and a fixed bed in the rear.
Pros on the 59K for me, is the decor and interior storage, tank sizes and true black tank.!!That’s it.
Negatives were placement of kitchen, bathroom with wardrobe and icky sink and no garage. Where would one store things like reflectix, chairs, outdoor mat, bbq, electric cable, water and sewer hoses. I couldn’t use it.

I love your videos. This one is no different. You were very generous in your scoring and I understand since the K Travato is the best selling class B. I would like to have seen what's involved to set up the single large bed system. It looks like you need to add a separate score for ergonomics/well thought out design. You pointed out several issues, but they seemed to largely get a pass in your existing scoring scheme. IE: feet don't touch the floor when sitting on either bed, table and tv are poorly located, no garage storage area, bathroom is not enclosed, one must bend over or kneel to use the frig or microwave, poor bathroom sink design, and insufficient headroom when sitting on beds. Any one of these issues would make the K a non-starter for us.

Exactly what I was going to say, we keep our tool box, 2 Helinox chairs, 1 helinox side table, a Coleman bbq in storage bag, and misc stuff from the trip. It will also hold our table leg and 15x30 table we are in the process of making. Also you missed the tablet/book/glasses net on the wall side at the top of each bed. And all the light gained by the shower being at the back. Lastly, this layout allows for a deeper kitchen which means we have a real oven/micro and the fridge is excellent with the increased depth. I do appreciate that you pointed out the challenge of the Lagun mount in opening the fridge door. We keep our beds made but the bedcover is nice aesthetically and we almost never watch tv but if we want to, we use the swivel chairs as they are so comfortable.

I really like this video. I think your criteria makes a lot of sense. I think this a very practical guide for anyone wanting to buy a van. I have a 19 KL. I can see some of the changes are really great, and some are not so great. The one thing I can tell you is that you cannot see inside the van from the back window. Trust me. I tried to take a picture of my partner in the potty. (Not sure what that says about me.😮)
Also, I know you have a G and you travel alone. I think that makes a lot of sense. I would do a G if I was traveling solo. However, with a partner the K is a good fit. And you just have a to adjust to living in your space together. Good work! Keep up the good work.

I like your approach but I think you are being too generous with your points. I just started watching but the first two things that were scored were the clearance, and even though the clearance was just at the minimum you specified on your sheet (7 inches), you still gave 2 points. Should be 1 point, otherwise what is the minimum even for? Anything below 7 should be 0, and 2 and 3 points should be reserved for "good" clearance (certainly more than 7 inches) and "great" clearance (12+ inches) respectively.
Next, the dining experience was terrible but you still gave 2 points! Why not give just 1? If there was no dining possible it should score 0; and 1 should be for the bare minimum functionality, which is what they have provided with this coach.
I haven't finished the video but at this rate of inflated points, it doesn't surprise me that it scored 90!
3 points for the 12 pack even though it couldn't fit standing up. Why? I think just about any fridge in existence will let you shove a 12 pack in if that's all you're storing. What's the point of a scale of 0 - 3 points if it's really 0 (can't do it) or 3 (can do it)?
Not trying to be overly critical here, just trying to provide some feedback. You've come up with a great system for rating RVs, I just think that you need to be more scientific in how you award points so that the scores can be meaningful.
I re-scored without giving full points just for meeting bare minimums, and I got a total score of 72, which I think is much closer to realistic for this coach.
