  • "Why do we care about scaling?": Dr. Winthrop of the Brookings Institution starts this panel by underlining that there is a one hundred year gap between children in the developed world and the developing world in terms of completion of schooling and learning outcomes. The world has succeeded in scaling primary school schooling for millions: getting children to attend school at a young age often by making it compulsory and free. Now we take a look at how to make quality education - a challenging learning experience that makes children become future global citizens, and how we could scale this globally to impact millions of lives.
What are some of the strategies and interventions that have achieved learning gains at scale, and what can be learned from their successes and failures?
In this discussion moderated by Mr. Philipp Schmidt of the MIT Media Lab, panelists come together to discuss policy, research and practical suggestions.
    Speakers:
Dr. Rebecca Winthrop The Brookings Institution
Ms Wendy Kopp Teach for All
Dr. Urvashi Sahni Study Hall Educational Foundation
Dr. Claudia Costin The World Bank Group
