The 90s was a great decade to be a teenager...
I know... I was 18 in 1999, now 39 for a few months.......
It kinda was :-)
So was THE 1970s
@@juana1483 I was born in '75 🥰 best music, best dancing, best style...the 70s was an amazing time to be alive!
@Jason Karl Oh it is so unbelievable what is going on right now. I wish we could turn back the clock...these are terrifying times to be alive, but I pray we get through it and come together as a unified nation once and for all. Otherwise, I'm moving to Mars.
Building the tension for 3 minutes and 25 seconds before letting the song explode: pure class
Thank you uncle Joey for this amazing song
The way that the band changed the feel in each chorus was genius. It allowed the song to build unlike the recording which goes in on the first chorus.
She is such a credit to her craft. I'm 63 years old and have been a fan to a lot of rock and roll artist.she ranks in my top ten all time.🇺🇸🐊🌞☮️🌴😎
Hello from Orlando, Florida.
Definitely up there with Janis and Joni imo
Man how tf could you have been with this woman and let her go.. 😍 will FOREVER be an alanis fan!!!!
You could feel the crowd waiting for this song to bust wide open like it finally did at the end, but it never really reached its full intensity and power.
I was there and I literally remember feeling exactly that way lol. But at the same time, we were all so hot and dehydrated and tired during the day from all the super high energy bands at night (Korn, limp bizkit, rage, Metallica, megadeath, etc.. and the all night raves (fat boy slim, chemical Brothers, etc..) , that idt we had the energy to move even if she would of went hard 🤣
Mother gave me 2 tickets to Woodstock 99 for my birthday. I remember very little from it because of the copious amounts of alcohol and drugs I was on but goddamn do I remember Alanis like it was yesterday. She is incredible.
Love how the bassist lets loose in the 3rd verse. And Gary Novak on drums is a monster. So solid.
Interesting arrangement. I love how they brought the original bass groove back near the peak of the song.
The arrangement of this song has really captivated me and I keep coming back to this version because of it. The band did a great job with this performance.
Yeah, I think I almost like this version better than the original. Alanis is obviously getting tired at this point, but she's pumping it out and the arrangement is tight
TrixM I do like the original as you could feel her angst. She got in your face and the bass made you feel the punches
I finally put my finger on what just the bass line reminds me of...Lady Gaga Poker Face.
Her voice is magical.
This crowd has that special kind of pre 9/11 happiness that I really miss.
Well said. I know exactly what you're saying.
They rioted, raped and torched the place that weekend. Sooooo happy.
@@hutch1197 sounds fun
Yeah I really recommend you research Woodstock 99 and then come back and edit this comment 😂.
@@jaquen1977right?!!😂 They burnt the whole place down. Limp Bizkit kicked it off with Break stuff.😅😂☠
Her voice is outta this world . My god. Shes amazing
I love the snort at 1:39
This is my favorite song of hers so true and raw
Not long after this came out she performed it live on one of the awards, when she finished the host was like 'damn, she sings that like she means it!' Lol
the backstreet boys bass player is damn kicking ass
Alanis is pure rock n roll pure emotion i love her performance!
🥀This is what I love about her she says what she's feeling and just keeps it real & that's a true artist🥀🤘
Big shout-out From San Antonio Texas WE LOVE YOU!!!!!! 💙🩵💙🩵💙🩵💙🩵💙🩵💙🩵💙🩵🩵💙💙🩵💙🩵🤩😍💙🩵🩵💙
I was there and worked my way up close..if anyone else was there... Wasn't it HOT as Hell??
You would be hard-pressed to find somebody that could put a performance on like that today.
God gives everyone a gift and she is sure using hers and that stage isn't big enough for her voice🎉
Alanis Morissette Is an hell of singer O M G!!
The bass guitarist was absolutely brilliant ... Even when he's faced with the normal bass line from the traditional recorded song, he's still noodling around to make it a unique version.
The baddest looks like nick carter
CautelousOne the normal bass line is far from normal lmao what are you talking about?
Flew recorded the bass part.
Get new ears
@@cloud_monkey422 true talk, plus Taylor's aggressive drumming during live performance s is still preferable.
Ladies and gentlemen the queen 👑 the goddess of rock 🎸
Ann Wilson just called...
when you watch Alanis , you realise where lavigne & swift learnt their stuff , she is BOSS ....
Ay pobre ridícula!
Ewww. No way. They’re not even close.
❤❤❤❤❤I am still in love with her😂😂❤❤❤❤
Just the best...she is completely amazing...and that looked like it was incredible to be there...1999 was a great year.
killer bass lines
My favorite female artist!
Sometimes there's nothing more disappointing than paying to see your favorite artists live, but they won't play the songs you love.
Absolutely amazing voice......
NO smartphones !! we'd the best conecction, really enjoyed it.
I was there! I saw that performance! It was awesome!!!
Alanis😘..
On the one hand, I wish Taylor Hawkins played drums for Alanis for the rest of her career. On the other hand, I would not witness his prowess in Foo Fighters if he did not leave. But this song really sounds right with Taylor in the fold.
I love the guitar arrangement on this version of you outta know!
I wish they would release this performance as an album.
Merci pour ce moment très agréable
This is one of the mellowest performances of this song I’ve ever seen. I wonder why she was so subdued here.
Agreed. There's no anger that shuldf been the soul of the song.
It's because she was high as a kite.
She was fucking coked out
it’s a lot of conversation about the set list before they had the artists perform for those 3 days. i think she mellowed it out cause of the amount of intense music that was being presented to the crowd of about a quarter million of people, the lack of security and i’m sure producers warned her about the bottles being pelted and to kinda keep the crowd calm but enjoy themselves.
she's 4 years down the road from writing this song. at this time she's probably performed it 100 times. I am surprised she did it at all.
Great bassline
This looks like so much fun
On our setlist! Love this
She is the best!
Saw her I'm concert along with Toru Amos but both being different they were equally amazing that was the pre. covid19 days!
Yes..... around 1999 or 2000? I saw them together!!
Amazing
excelente versión
Queen.
Great
Will always be in love with her...
Even the bass is groovy as hell live from 3:25 on
Fuck I miss music real music like this.

Excellent
Very intelligent!
😍😍😍😍😍😍😘😘😘alanis
да классные песни на том фестивале были и да классный год был и после него тоже норма я как раз выпуск из школы был
I still have a hard to believe that this song was written about Dave Coulier. Uncle Joey was a freak!
Woodstock with Art Contre Culture !
Where's the rage needed for this important song Alanis? Luv u and your work but this tune was blown.
Iknow Nuttin listen to the acoustic version from 2005. not angry, more melancholic but still beautiful
@@AlexeBriand2002 Fair enough Alexe. Alanis' acoustic work is amaaazing! But this particular song was born out of a real rage and hence without that type of intensity the lyrics simply lack that gut-punch. Also I think this concert started to show her exhaustion and burnout that prompted Glen Ballard to state that "it (the tour) almost killed her".
2022💕🤞🏽
Forte la musica educazione sociale, terapia, giusto
The 90s were our 60s and 70s. From this on music died.
2019...
Wicked strong, darling. Just.. that

Read the weather report and go prepared before you set out
I can imagine. You can see them hosing down the audience to help cool them off.
@@wigancyclist8913 This is a ridiculous comment if you know the conditions at Woodstock '99.
Look, im a people person like everybody, but youve got issues. Vote. 💜

Anybody here because of the latest episode of the SBL-Podcast with Chris Chaney? 🙋🏼♂️😂
I lost 5 pounds watching her walk around so much in this video. Cool!
She's coked up hard
Seek N. Destroy That would make sense, yeah.
Seek N. Destroy nope to this day she emotes this much. Watch her pregnant performances. And coke doesn’t last that long 😂
😘👍still a Beauty Al Mo
Alanis in her own world jaja
Nick Carter fucking slaying the pocket on bass.
Songs about Uncle Joey on full house 😳
When the fuck did nick carter play bass for Alanis ?
One does not simply
Ditch Alanis... :o
The instrument sound nauseous as if to indicate that she's not quite so well as she indicates in the lyrics. It's an interesting version I prefer the angry version though. But it is just a matter of preference.
The guitar is completely different. There's no guitar rhythm at all in this live performance. Not sure why they changed it.
Joan A.C. Gilmore
It IS angry still, the anger just builds up through the entire song......if only you were patient to listen to it wholly you'd have seen how geniusly Alanis upscaled her own song and it's emotion!
...of course she's not fine Joan, the song's sarcastic.
@@Hellwyck I read this comment in my mother's deadpan voice. Lol
shouldn't we be all dead? that is god singing afterall.
YESSSSSSSSS
Wheres Bartalbe and Loki
