There are some benefits in India which will not be there if you are not citizen of India, for example you cannot own an Agricultural land in India if you are not a citizen. Since lot of farmers are there from India that can be a reason.

South African here, I love watching your videos.. almost every week. However, its a pity sometimes I don't understand what you are saying. anyways great stuff.. hopefully someday I'll be on the same journey.
For passport you have to take another picture. As your citizenship process can be prolong upto a year. And for passport application the photos should be taken in 3 months only.
Note: for passport even you don't have to smile or wear glasses.
Another benefit is you after becoming Citi,en you don't have to renew your immigration documents (pr) but you need to have active/valid pr holder until you take the citizenship oath.

Whenever you vlog in car please try to keep the lens little far away because it seems too close and just seems sort of imbalanced (object surrounding ratio)
Just applied for mine a month back. It was honestly easier than applying for a PR, however, with the authorities prioritizing refugees, the processing might be a bit delayed, so apply in time.

I have filed in 2019 and got in 2021
Good part is you can get OCI status which also allows you to live and work in India ( incase you plan to in future) so win win situation nevertheless:) Good luck on your journey.

1.Letter I stands for Indian which means any Indian can become NRI
2. NRI status is just for income tax purposes
In India NRI doesn't need to pay taxes on income earned outside India just to avoid double taxation in source country as well as India. So status of NRI is calculated
3. NRI status caln depends upon number of days stayed outside India
4. This brings to the conclusion any citizen can become NRI
Eg: even david warner can become NRI and if he becomes income earned in India will be taxed in india
Even PMO India can become NRI if he stays outside India for specified number of days

NRI doesn't take way your citizenship
Citizenship depends upon citizenship Act
NRI depends upon Income tax Act
Then comes OCI - Overseas citizen of India which is a matter of Foreign exchange management Act
OCI makes you retain some benefits as Indian even if you give away Indian citizenship but you cant vote. So only some benefits can be retained
Eg. You can come back to India for any number of years even if you are Canadian citizen
No dual citizenship given in our country
Pakistan does give it though.

Absolutely right about citizenship. Myself and daughter is Canadian citizen,but my husband is not. He prefers to work in Gulf. So after spending 2 years here,he opts to go in Gulf and work there for 3 years. This we are doing from 2006. It's hard to move here n there. But now he got job in SNC lavlin in Ottawa. Hoping he don't make his decision to go back again..😐😐😄😄

To answer your question why 20% ppl would like to live on pr for rest of the life by choice is because they will lose their benefits in their home country.
There are various reasons. My mother lived in Canada for 30 years on PR because she did not want to lose Government pension in India.

You need to stay 2 years (not 3 years as you said) within 5 years to maintain PR

@@darkdemongamer2043 first you have to become pR stay on PR for 2 years then 6 months or 1 year can be taken from work permit depending on duration can be added to the three year requirement for being eligible for citizenship you cannot jump to citizenship from work permit have to become a pr spend two years in it to become eligible for citizenship

People who choose to not apply either own properties, especially agricultural lands in India and India doesn't allow dual citizenship. Also, some don't want to lose their status as an Indian citizen.
