I hope that not only you get your citizenship ceremony soon, but that you will get your citizenship certificate flawlessly. I had to wait around 9 months after my exam for the ceremony
While the ceremony itself went well, waiting for the certificate….was another story. So they did say it takes around 2 weeks to get the certificate, but there was some problems
In summary: there was confusion with my old location, new location, and the immigration lawyer location. So my original certificate was everywhere except my new location.
5 months and no luck, so the lawyer had a serious chat with immigration, and I got my new certificate a week after that 😅
Funnily enough, my original certificate was discovered 😂
I really have no idea what happened, what went wrong. But I was very nervous cause even though in the system I am definitely a citizen, I couldn’t apply for a Canadian passport without this certificate. And i had no passport at all, and my country of origin they made getting a new passport almost impossible. So I was beyond relieved once it was finally all over 😅
It was a wild journey. But finally I have Canada as my home 🇨🇦❤️

I barely read the book and I still passed. Questions are very easy. I was sure about 14 of them and I basically just gambled the rest and I got 17/20.

Just follow the instructions that they provide before the test and give the website permission to access your camera

My mom got 20/20, Those online simulator tests are great and different sites have different questionnaires.

I think the very first time the Canada Maple leaf National flag was flown officially in 1967 for the centennial celebrations .

Yes it does take some time. We applied in november 2022 and got our notice to appear for test now, in Feb. We still can't check the status of our file online.

Interesting fact. When Newfoundlanders voted to Join Canada in 1948 it was a close call. 52.3% voted in favor of joining while the rest wanted to remain independant. Part of the deal was supposed to include free ferry service from the island to the rest of Canada as it would be considered a part of the Trans Canada Highway. This promise of course was a lie and we have to pay to get on the ferry and it is quite expensive.

Well you could have joined Canada or the USA. Being independent as Newfoundland by yourselves makes ZERO economic sense. As an American in Canada I assure you it was better to join Canada. Someday both nations may be joined though, if the USA can get their act together on Health Care.

Seeing this video gave me a ptsd flashback when I had to prepare for my Canadian citizenship exam. And this was for several reasons 😅
1. I’m terrible at exams and memorizing. It was a huge struggle at school, so having to do it again was emotionally horrifying for me 😅
2. Despite I applied during Covid and the website said post exam interviews were cancels, I was still worried about that part. I’m shy and very introverted.
3. The website said if you fail twice? You have to speak to someone and do the test once more (and above the fear of speaking for me applies here too). But additionally if you fail the 3rd time? They refuse your application and have to start all over again. And that was a scary thought
I found a video that had both the discover Canada booklet and the audio combined together. So I used that over and over.
I did the exam, was shaking, first try….I passed 17 out of 20 😁

What were your mock test resources? I'm seeing a lot of options but they're not standard always
Any mock test you find online is good enough to test your knowledge and understanding of the official booklet for preparation. I just googled them and took whichever mock test I saw
@@MakeThatChange thanks perhaps you were lucky😀 I found so many but almost every test series has a different complexity level. I've found some series that are extremely tough, some are very easy and some are medium.
I'm unsure which of these are based on actual tests' complexity.

Some people can be called for an interview or asked to provide fingerprints after the test. Otherwise you only have 3 steps: application, test, ceremony

Не придирутся они, что два экрана рядом? Еще я также прочитала комментарий к одному из видео - какой-то человек ответил правильно на все 20 вопросов, но ему не засчитали, потому что не видели его глаза, а он был абсолютно уверен, что камера была включена так как он делал фото ID, но во время теста он себя на экране почему-то не видел. Некоторые люди тоже говорили, что не видели себя на экране почему-то, хотя камера была включена. Что-то я теперь переживаю...
Здравствуйте! Да, тест я сдавала с ноутбука. Вторым экраном в этот момент не пользовалась и на него не смотрела.
Пожалуйста, внимательно прочитайте письмо с инструкциями к тесту, которое придет к вам на имейл, там будет все пошагово описано: с каких устройств можно проходить тест, какие предпринять шаги перед прохождением, что надо дать разрешение камере на запись, и т.д.
Вы себя видеть не будете, вы будете видеть только тест во время прохождения.

@@MakeThatChange Спасибо! А ещё можно вопрос - вы в качестве ID использовали карту вида на жительство? Просто в письме написано, что нужен личный документ с фотографией и подписью и это может быть Permanent Residency "A photo identification (ID) with your signature on it, such as
o your permanent resident (PR) card (even if it’s expired)". Но ведь подпись не ставится в этой карте (ну по крайней мере у меня такая, на которой нет подписи, только фото мое). Что-то я не поняла этот момент.

You only need a guarantor for passport application. They have to be a citizen.
What’s the next step after passing the test? How long you need to wait approximately?

I passed my citizenship test in November 8th the update is that I passed it on the website but till then still no updates been waiting

Seems pretty easy + straightforward! As you said, if you live in Canada for a couple of years, you'll already know a good part of what they'll ask you.
For the most part yes - but it’s still important to make sure yo us over political system and some historical dates. You don’t always come across those in your everyday life 😊
I am preparing for the test and I dont thing the guide is available as a video format. It can be either read or listened to.
You can find video format on CZcams, it'll be like an audiobook reading through real pages of the guide with pictures on the screen

Hi George, all instructions are written in the email you get. It tells you date and time and what to expect once you click the link and what documets to have ready and what devices to use and whether you can have blurred background or not.

You will be given a link to join. You will have to install an app Zoom for the ceremony. As for blurring background, I don’t remember having specific instructions about this. It’s good to ask that during your call.
Congratulations, when were you invited to the ceremony? Were the questions difficult in the exam? Or can they be grouped as very easy, easy, difficult and very difficult?
