Succession: Return (Season 2 Episode 7 Clip) | HBO - Zábava
roman saying "hi mommyy" in the tiniest voice gets me every time
God I can only imagine how insane their child hood was. She can’t even say how are you with the mom thinking she’s trying to take a shot at her haha
At the same time, she was right to reject the question. It wasn't a social visit. Shiv and Roman were there to buy her vote. She knew the negotiation was coming. Her answer to the question of "how are you" could have been used against her by her kids or Logan to squeeze her. Shiv wouldn't have answered the question honestly either, if she were asked first, given the circumstances.
i wonder if we’ll ever get a season or even an episode showing their childhood. like a prequel series.
my mom does the same thing sometimes
Shiv’s “I was eighteen!” Line is so heartbreaking. There’s a vivid memory in the way that Sarah said it. You just feel it. Brilliant writing and acting.
Came here to say the exact same thing! One of my favorite scenes because it shows truly how devastating their parents’ attitudes and mindsets towards family/love/care are and why the kids turned out how they did. Imagine growing up with so much material things but no real substance of familial love. This show is a tragedy.
a@@paytonrowe7832 Beautifully said. Couldn't agree more oh my goddddd.
Her mom’s “like a Nazi” to Siobhans “just following orders” has me SCREAMING 😂
It's a reference to the philosopher Hanna Arendt and her books about the Nuremberg trials
@callmecatalyst 😂😂
seeing roman speak so softly and being quiet is very interesting.. can't wait for the christmas dinner in s3 i wanna know more of this dynamic
Has Jesse Armstrong indicated we're going to see it in S3?
@@maggiec83 i dont think so but i think it'll be such a missed opportunity if we don't get it
@@maggiec83 I think we will or at the very least reference it. Season 3 is taking place some time during the fall judging buy Greg’s friend saying she’s only in her first semester of Law school.
We never saw the christmas dinner 😭😭
Roman is so reserved around his mother. Around everyone else he's confident and outrageous. Wonder where he got that from?
He knows his place in the pecking order 😄 one step above the door mat.
Mommy issues
That double-entendre insertion of “Shall I play mother?” is *genius* -
Traditionally it’s said before serving tea, though as you see here, no tea. Her asking that rhetorical alludes more to the absent and difficult role she’s played in their lives.
Ok, I'm American and even I got that.
@@Zzyxzaa I didn't though. No need to be nasty
I was expecting Kendal to randomly show up outside the house and scream "FAMILY THERAPY!!!"
“family therapy” pops up in my head randomly all the time
Best show currently on television.
seeing mothers like this makes me grateful for mine.
Mine was worse. Trust me it is painful
@@crazytongue9189 any crazy stories ??
@@hugonongbri8100 if i start there will be no other for decades
no wonder roman has mommy issues ...
He has the worst parents. I'm so blessed. Lol
They all have mommy issues
They all have glaring daddy issues and Roman has glaring mommy issues as well :’D
Huuuuge Mommy Issues, for example his relationship with Gerri 😳
The fact that she’s making their father choose between kids at Christmas or his summer palace is just her playing at being the better parent
Whichc did Logan pick?
@@jhramirezr please guess
such a good point, when she's a pretty bad parent too
You already know that Season 3 Christmas gathering is gonna be crazy
I hope they have a Christmas episode with their mom. Can’t be worse than Thanksgiving, right?
@@ManUntdForever man, i forgot about that. I can't even imagine the horror show that will be. cuts to suffocating english country side christmas from Logan all alone in NY.
@@Circa1628 Conner would be with him since she's not his mom.
@@leonardohopplescoth1783 hmm, Connor with Logan's undivided attention. That sounds even more painful to watch. Entertaining though.
And this is how Harriet Walter got her Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress...well deserved.
She’s such a good actriz. I mean, you see very little in the show but her presence feels so deep. Specially in Roman
Excellent scene. The dialogue was perfection and the situation ingenious.
Whew imagine if in some alternate universe this woman and Lucille Bluth were in the same room together
My poor Kendall deserves better 😭😭😔😔
I felt so bad when he nearly opened up to his mom about the accident and then she wasn’t there for him
obsessed with romans little "hi mommy :3"
It might not be a 48 oz bloody rare steak, but that lady shot those birds. She made lunch plans, got up early, took aim and shot those birds
Who would win in a psychological battle: Lady Collingwood from Succession, or Godmother from Fleabag?
Godmother. She manages to expertly needle people who don't like her, whereas Caroline really can only effectively jab at people who love her enough to let her close. Since they wouldn't like each other, Godmother would have the upper hand.
"Instead of you always being with your father. Why don't you ask him what he'd rather?" Caroline has got bars!
Now we know where Kendall gets it from
If you’re reading this have a great upcoming week simply because you deserve it :)
ok bro
Thanks man
I wish I would have seen this comment last week
The Roy kids needed to hear this from their parents growing up!
I hope we see the Roy kids spending Christmas with their mother! The casts are just amazing!
Someone needs to make a Caroline Collingwood compilation scene, she’s hilarious without even trying
harriet walter is brilliant here in an already brilliant show.
Now I can see why Logan divorced her. She's only your mother for when things interests her. Further scenes made me convinced about that.
its so sad, she's just so averse to real emotional conversation (like in the scene with Kendall) I feel like it'd get frustrating just being around her at some point. These kids really needed their mother since their father was already terrible, and she can't even see or care to see when her son is about to break down
@Awagel when I watched this episode i was thinking...Imagine that Logan was the more attentive parent..Fuck!! imagine that :/ . that scene with Kendall was really sad to watch
There's many parts of this scene which feel improvised, which makes it so much better. Lots of random smiles and laughing from the actors that adds to the realism.
I idon't know what's worse... The fact that she cooked pigeon with shot and feather in the meat or that she has to broker a deal for her children to visit her on Christmas.
Great episode!
Next scene with kendall.... heartbreaking
"you have to have good lines for communication after divorce. Its absolutely key." -- This really cracked me.
3:24 middle finger
It's a simple state of art.
That’s cold
i miss succession
“Shot and Feather” sounds like the name of a design store frequented by just this sort of person.
Crazy how the Roy’s have a parent that’s worse than Logan
the actresss who plays the mother is so terribly good i hate her character with all of my being. like when she shows up in other movies or shows i immediately hate her. she’s that good in this role.
Depth of a character
Harriet Walter 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
LOL at least 85% of the population would’ve dropped that plate on the floor shattering it in hundreds of pieces. Good catch Ro Ro!
1:15 it's against etiquette to put pots on the table....
They are "playing" at eating simply. Rich people eat in formal dining situations all the time. So for them, to play at eating casually, is a novelty and attempt to seem authenticate and humble. Only poor and middle class people care about etiquette. The super rich and the aristocracy are unharmed by it. Social climbers and the middle class are the only people who need to try desperately to get it right.
@@marshhen what are you talking about?
In what culture? My family has no qualms about it at all. I've never heard of this before.
I am just watching Dame Harriet on UK version of Law and Order she's a very Talented actress she kept her accent why did Matthew not keep his?
matthew plays Tom. and tom comes from minessota
This is sad.
Every time I go home my mother receives me with delicious food, my favorite meals, etc. She prepares everything so me and my brothers have the best time.
Here, they haven't been with her in years, and she barely has any food and pours wine only for herself.
Is the small things that show you the kind of mother she is.
I like her.
Yum shot and feather lol
Negotiating for the rights to having Christmas with some middle aged people being called kids. The fact any of the kids think they'll ever end up in charge is hilarious and tragic at the same time. There is no succession when Mommy and Daddy are still playing house.
Roman and Shiv aren't middle-aged...
@@Nobody6175 Roman made a comment once that luckily he and Shiv aren't Siamese twins. Kendall recently invited Josh to his 40th birthday party. Kieren Culkin is 39 in real life. The opening credits show the kids close in age. Shiv and Roman seem to be portrayed in their late 30s.
They're certainly closing in on middle aged if not already. In 2019 the average life expectancy in the US was 79 years old.
@@ryansproviero Could be wrong but I thought Shiv was supposed to be younger than Roman. She spent 10 years working in politics, so assuming she started working at 22, that would make her 32
Harriet Walter is perfect as Caroline.
Shiv asks her mother how she’s doing:
Mom: “are we really getting into all that?”
Talk about uptight
Their mother is interesting 😂
she looks like elon's mom
The way I see it, Logan played hard and won the custody battle. Big back story here.
3:25
She is sooo toxic and passive aggressive 😮😅 really fun to watch in a show, but in real life to see a person like that.... 😳😳😳😬
Didn't she go to her own daughter's wedding?
Esse vídeo Succession, só presta qdo aparece o belíssimo MATTHEW MACFADYEN 🇧🇷.
ELE sim , é um actor Beautiful 🇧🇷👋🏻
I hope they lean into the mom as a ghislaine maxwell figure
DASHA
There all so hateful.
So these children, with an English mother, and a Scottish father, all sound as if they’re from NY.
They were largely raised in the US.
Scottish Canadian if you will-that’s where Roman and Ewan were born but raised in Quebec, then the kids left with Logan to America
As someone with immigrant parents who was born and raised in America and has an American accent, this is not uncommon.
@@jonathan3264 what?
@@luc-rikardofils6673 Me too
Im not surprised that they’re all kind of people pleasers. They say that Daddy issues make you a people pleaser and that mommy issues make you….basically insane 😂
