- Cute Highland Cow! TIPS for how to paint all this HAiR! Take your time and puzzle it out. Use the photo for the 'traceable'. Simple atmospheric perspective: Darker blue sky at the top, Lighter bluer grass near the sky line, gets warmer and darker as you come down. 1:23 use a 1" brush for the sky. 6:25 a look at the background and comments. 8:10 reference photo is the traceable. Comments on chalk pastel on the back, my encouragement to use the photo. Chat about how long it has taken to paint. 13:33 talk about painting show shapes first. Usually paint the Horns, Nose first cuz hair goes over them. Chat about light. 2 hrs. in at this point. 20:45 another 2 hours work. Coats of paint help. Order I painted in. 26:35 Artistic license with hair. 29:43 final comments. Changing the color of some strokes / hairs. Tracing a photo and help improve your drawing.
COLORS: Raw Sienna, Titanium White, Cad. Yellow Med. Hue, Phthalo Blue Grn. Shade, Quinacridone Magenta, Mars Black.
