This is my favorite dress. The style is chic and can be sewn in 15 minutes

To sew yourself a dress, first of all you need a good pattern. I get these patterns from Burda magazine. A successful pattern can be used not only for the original model, but also to sew something else using it.
For example, using a turtleneck pattern you can sew yourself a dress. Many styles can be used even if the number is ten years old.
Burda has a table of sizes, which shows the centimeters of the chest, waist, hips, length... Using these parameters, you choose your size. I have size 52, but in Burda I always use 42.
In the magazine for 9/2010 I found a good turtleneck model, lengthened it a little and sewed myself a dress for the New Year.
1) For work I took thick knitwear. To make the dress fit, you need to measure the circumference of your hips and add 7-8 cm for a loose fit.
2) You won’t have to work long on this model. The dress is sewn as simply as it looks. Basically, you need to stitch the shoulder and side seams and you're almost done.
But some details add zest.
3) I folded the front shelf lengthwise in the middle and sewed a tuck line along the entire length, retreating 2 mm from the fold.
4) Then I connected both shelves and sewed the shoulder seams, which smoothly go into the neckline.
5) I basted the side seams; at this stage, fitting is done. Everything fit me perfectly the first time. You can scribble.
When working with knitted fabrics, you need to change the needle to a special one for knitwear. As a result, the line lays smoothly and efficiently, without any difficulties.
6) The neck is very easy to process. I overcast the edge and folded it along the line that I transferred from the pattern. I grabbed the collar by hand to the shoulder seam.
7) I stitched the sleeves and sewed them into the flap.
8) I hemmed the length of the sleeves and the length of the dress using a double hem.
9) Another decoration of the dress is lace pockets.
10) This loose shift dress is comfortable to wear.
The model does not restrict movement and looks cool.

Если слегка растягивать , то нормально. Я много чего делаю прямой строчкой, растягивая под машиной. Потом готовое изделие замачиваю и высушиваю, трикотаж "возвращается" в свою форму. Но не всегда, конечно, это можно : смотрю - какой трикотаж. У автора в начале была пометка - плотный трикотаж, он стабильный, наверно.
