I'm happy king's field finally got a chance to shine. It's a slow game, but it's one of the most immersive games I've ever played. One of the most memorable game I've played on ps2

i played through the first 2 on ps1 like ten times each lol
but i couldn't get into it on ps2

Wow, this video is FILLED with some of my childhood favorite PS2 games. These games still bring back really fond memories, and I can't help wishing for remakes or ports to modern consoles/PC.
I remember when Radiata Stories came out, there was a comparison to the Suikoden series with its recruiting of different characters. I’m a big fan of the Suikoden series, so I might give Radiata Stories a go. Thanks for the suggestion. Great content as always.

Better play the multiplat games on PC or Xbox. The PS2 version usually has slow down and inferior graphics hence higher input lag. Just my 2cents.

Radiata Stories and Rogue Galaxy really bring back many memories. Spent hundreds of time playing those game. Especially Rogue Galaxy with it's bug catching mini game. Love it.
Another great list of games here! While I haven’t played all of these, I’m definitely interested to check out King’s Field - The Ancient City! Also, I really need to try the Ys games. They look like great fun. Odinsphere is another I never got around to playing, but heard a lot of praise for, and looks really cool. Great video again man!
You should absolutely try it's remake OdinSphere Leifthrasir! There's a solid bit of game mechanics that were fine tuned and updated along with making it HD and remastering the beautiful music. I loved it so much I bought the PS4 and Vita versions as there's cross save compatibility.

The games listed here that I wanted to play back then were Rogue Galaxy (I kept forgetting its title), Dark Cloud 2, and perhaps Tales of the Abyss (because Vesperia was so much fun).
I just picked up Radiata Stories for $25 at a pawn shop a couple months ago. Its one of my favorite battle systems, for sure. Would reccomend to anyone.

Games like Odin Sphere are the proof ultra realistic ray traced graphics aren't needed to make something great and memorable.

There are even Atari 2600/NES/SMS/MD/SNES games that are more creative, talented, and memorable than tons of modern stuff. I'd still add that the last decade was great for gaming in general, lots of great games coming from talented studios.

The only ones from the list I have played are Odin Sphere, Ys: The Ark of Napishtim, Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon, and Star Ocean: Till the End of Time, but I love all of those games and I look forward to checking out the others. Thank you for the recommendations. Also, even though it isn't quite as great as its sequel, Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army is a good game and is definitely worth playing.

Radiata Stories and Rogue Galaxy are two of my favorites. Especially Radiata Stories, it doesn't get enough attention and definitely needs a new port. I have the physical copy but it's collecting too much dust.

It's so goddamn good. That game's charm, the personalities present in the game, the world, are so damn strong.
Star Ocean its one of my all Time favourite RPG, but I dunno if it fits on the action RPG genre but I love Valkyrie Profile Silmeria and FFXII
I always go back to the question, which system did I overall like better PS1 or PS2 and man...lists like this make me realize its almost impossible to choose lol. They both have amazing games. Wonderful list of fantastic games.

@@raymartecoto8389 7th gen is my favorite generation with games like Borderlands, Dragon Age Origins, Bioshock, Wolfenstein TNO, Gears of War, God of War 3 and others. The jrpg was lacking but other genres got dominant. Last gen we saw jrpg resurrection with Tales of Berseria/ Arise, Ys 8/9, Atelier Ryza, Rune Factory 4 Special, FF 7 Remake, KH 3, and many others upcoming games. I'm so excited! I still have many ps2 games I want to play, I wish I had a time chamber lol

Back in the Time I spend sooo much Time in Summoner 2... I think that Game is very underrated.
I would heavily suggest Drakan the ancient gates. For some reason no one mentions it when it hands down was the absolute best action rpg of the PS2 era. They purchased the game to make it an exclusive after the first one dropped on PC.
Your videos serious couldn't have came at a better time! A fantastic free Playstation 2 emulator for android came out a few months ago making all of these games playable on phones now!

Just added King's Field and Radiata Stories to my wishlist! As for the rest I already have them. :)
Playing Kingdom hearts 2 FM on critical difficulty is so fun especially data battles it has a great battles system that can be customized which makes combo's deep at it while Forms add different style to sora and makes the game enjoyable even if you struggle to beat a boss you will had fun

Dark cloud 2 is one of my favorite games of all time. Top 10 for sure. They released it for ps4 so i really need to work on the platinum
Just HDD moded my PS2 and started to looks on your videos what cool games can I add.
(Yes! Piracy is no good, but most of the games don't had a re release, are hard to find or are very expensive to get)

It would be nice if you could say or little written info on the bottom of the video about the games title how much the game costs and when it was released and if it is available on PSN or steam.
I haven't played much of Rogue Galaxy due to being busy (and kinda obsessed with Xenoblade), but I really liked what I played.
I've beaten Dark Cloud 2 only once ages ago. It was not easy but it even has Mark Hamill as a voice actor in it!
That final boss made me miserable.
@@upshitdownshit4200 As someone who has played the game many times over, the final boss is honestly not that bad if you know what you're doing. The last couple of times I fought the Dark Genie at the end of Zelmite Mines I was able to beat him no problem by guarding his laser beam and taking shots whenever I got the chance to, this strategy easily enabled me to solo him with Monica with a maxed out Island King and Love

Surprised to see devil summoner 2 on here. I absolutely love that game and I see it as the most underrated ps2 game.
I like your picks and I know its just your Opinion. But FFXII, DQ8 Persona 3&4 Drakengard 1&2 should get an honourable mention. love the vids man
Odin Sphere is a great pick, but get the updated version that hit PS3/PS4/Vita some years back. It has additional content, more spells, recipe's etc. I would recommend against the PS2 version for that reason and also it has tremendous slowdown during boss battles. Which helps with the difficulty, since this IS a difficult game. But yeah... avoid and get the Leifthrasir edition which obviously doesn't have frame rate issues.
You forgot that Dark Cloud 2, like DC1, also has the town building stuff.
Tales of the Abyss is one of my faves as well! It's my second favorite Tales game, right under Eternia, though it's probably my favorite PS2 one. I also liked Ys 6 though I still need to finish it. Wish I could say I liked Star Ocean 3 more but I don't lol! It was my first but combat felt stiff to me. I still want to try the Devil Summoner games though. King's Field I tried and died lol! Which is weird because I like Dark Souls. KH2 I also loved. I remember being so hyped for it back in the day. I used to check websites for info like all the time lol! Rogue Galaxy I like as well. Took a long time to get myself a copy after lowkey getting scammed with a copy that wasn't in great condition, but it all worked out in the end. It's not a JRPG, but another one I would recommend is Champions of Norrath. It's a Diablo-esque style of game but it's fun with a lot of charm.
Tales of the Abyss still has one of my favorite stories in a game, and the character development across the entire cast (especially Luke) is nearly unmatched.

@@Tasuke Yeah, it actually took me by surprise at the time since I'd gotten used to the standard ebbs and flows of JRPG stories. Seeing one really going for the gold was a shock, but a welcome one for sure. Much like how Radiata Stories' dedication to have over a hundred characters with full schedules really served to make the city special in a way most games haven't to this day.

Rogue Galaxy was one I'd never even heard of until I found it in a bargain bin. Easily one of the best rpgs on ps2.

These are the games old school jrpg player can play to slowly bridge the massive gameplay gap between ffx and ff11.

It just disappointment that Radiata Stories doesn't have a remaster or a sequel to clear out the ending that quite messed up
As far as Odin Sphere goes, it got a PS4 re-release with updated graphics, better frame rate, and controls, plus I think there’s a new playable character. If you’ve got a choice between PS4 or PS2 versions just go with the PS4.
Is odin sphere ps2 have easy mode?
@@im22sonofadracula32 they both have an easy mode, per sé, however, the newer Odin's Sphere is more fleshed out. I had more fun with that than the original and I beat the original game twice.

Rogue galaxy ending was such a cliffhanger. I am still waiting for its sequel till this day.

OH YES SIR!!! ROGUE GALAXY!!!...i want to continue my save,,,im still at the 2nd chapter "THE HUGE CITY" kind of busy because of work though i was stunned by the superb graphics in the chapter 1 inside the forest near the falls you can the side area in a vast wide open...super beautiful graphics...Lilika is my waifu hehehe... the game is GREAT!!!...i also have YS Ark of NApishtim, Star Ocean 3 and Tales of Abyss on my external and played them via USB and OPL...i did try Kings Field but im having a hard time with too slow sword slashes.....maybe im just used to playing fast paced games like YS and Samurai Warriors.... I LOVE YOUR VIDEO SIR and GREAT LIST!!!!... AWESOME!!!...
