This is the song I couldn't do without. I love it so much.
I've been reading about Kristin all morning. I am so impressed with who she is, it's like she's evolved 1000 years past past humans but had to come back here to help, I bet she feels similar to No Name in the movie idiocracy. Just when I think 100% of people would happily trade their souls in exchange for strangers' applause, I find her. I wish I'd been more familiar with her as a person when I was a teenager enjoying her music, talking myself up each morning before school that I was not going to let the bullies see me cry and failing at that day after day for years, my mother was a real diagnosed narcissist who never went back to therapy once diagnosed and lived to torture me, step dad made comments about my "tight" body when i was 14 and she wasn't horrified with him, she got angry at me and made it her goal to remind me I was worthless constantly. I ran away, tried to find a man to love me but only found those who wanted to use me, became a prostitute addicted to xanax, came out of all of that absolute shit of hating every fiber of my own being to discover that I'm actually really beautiful because I would never ever hurt another person who meant me no harm and through every cruel experience I managed to keep my heart intact! They didn't win, none of them did, I did. Now that I'm pushing 40 and my looks have faded, I make it a point to, when I meet a young woman, to say "you're so beautiful, and I'll bet you're really smart too".

Years ago, when CZcams had a friends list and an inbox, I sent her a message and she answered me! I had asked her how she felt about people listening on Spotify rather than physical albums and whether artists made any money from streaming services. (Spotify hadn't yet become the norm.) She was very gracious, said she was happy to have people hear her music anyway it could reach them, but that, sadly, the artists made very little. I think she said it was like a tenth of a penny per listen or something ridiculous. Anyway, it was just so cool that she actually wrote me back.
Alas, when, for some reason, they got rid of any sort of social network/friends element to CZcams, I lost it to the void. 😢
