If you want to use this in open world, i suggest using illusionary defense and -10% damage reduction food to make the build much more resilient (-25% damage taken from illusionary defense + -10% from food)

I want to use this build for open world and casual pvp. Is it pretty viable? I will take illusionary defense but like you said this build has no regen. Is that a big issue for open world and pvp.

@@haorob for open world, take jade protocols. They give you 30 seconds of Regen whenever you enter combat and stacks up to several minutes. That usually fixes all the regeneration problems.
For WvW, you may be a bit squishy without further adjustments. It can make sense to go for -10% damage taken food and karka toughness utility items.
If that's not enough, try to change the gear so you reach the crit cap with pieces of celestial and rabid for example. Since crit chance doesn't change from viper to cele, its probably easiest to exhange all viper to cele 1 to 1.

I’m holding off making any gear changes until the next xpac. The old build is fine, but for those without Lego armor, it’s expensive & a grind for multiple toons to get an extra 5 to 10% - and it could all change again in 2 months when Anet drop more spec updates

Signet of Illusion instead of Rain of Swords?

A) the extra expertise is good to have.
B) you can out a paralyzing sigil on if you want
C) in actual content you can use either signet, torch 5 is never worth it outside of cc. Using Mantra here to proc method of madness
D) signet of illusions isn't really worth it for dps, you can use it if you want, I prefer the additional large aoe cleave damage via rain of swords

@@karakaaa3371 Everything is the same as shown in the Video for me. I mostly can imagine that im just to slow. But when i execute the rotation on the golem there is just no way of casting a spell faster than the game allows :D

What would be your relic of choice for this build?
I know that Akeem is extremely OP right now and can be easily fit on this build, but since I expect it get nerfed in the upcoming balance update - what would you suggest beside it? Im currently using Aristocracy, wasting some stats here and there.

The Special Forces Training Area allows you to add all boons to your self and all conditions to the golem.
It is DPS build it does not boon itself beside few boons and self stability, why this is a good build imo.

Power Virtuoso uses it, you can look into that if you want. You can also use it here btw, since the offhand is basically just there for one skill

hmm my damage is so much lower than yours. I dont have ascended gear. but our stats are kind of similar. Only thing i dont have equipped are the buffs. Im also newer so I guess i have alot to learn

Are you also testing on the golem with the same buffs turned on? Because those make a huge difference in DPS when it comes to golem benchmarking like this.

@@thephobos1810 I just realized that. I have absolutely none of those buffs on xD are those buffs coming from like.. food buffs and guild buffs? Cause I think that's something I need to start working on. I've been trying to cram all this info in my head

@@Miniowns When you set up the DPS golem in the training area, you need to make sure that the golem has full stacks of vulnerability and that you have full stacks of might along with fury, quickness, and alacrity. That boonset is expected in competent groups and basically doubles your outgoing damage. And yes, you also need best-in-slot food and utility buffs up.

For most builds, you can just select "add all boons" and "add all conditions", unless you have traits or skills that do more dmg per condi/boon

Past Mechanist = Auto Attack only, no additional buttons need to be pressed for moderate damage.

Oh yes, it is. I posted an updated rotation recently that you can take a look at instead of the one present here.
They have made smaller tweaks on virtuoso and mesmer, but the playstyle is exactly the same
