"For me, the period of 1983-1991 was a once in a lifetime experience. Everything I did back then was for the first time, and even though it was beyond exciting and adventurous, when it came to an end, it was more than just the end of a band, it was also the end of a very specific time in my life that I had lived and been part of. Over the next 20 years, I would revisit that time in my life in small parts, but never felt 100% comfortable with it. I simply could not force myself to recreate what I once was," says Tramp.
"Now, here I am again, the year is 2023 and I have recorded an album of the 'big' White Lion songs as close to the originals as possible, but exploring small new parts that today I feel should be that way. I am not 26 anymore, I don't sing like I am 26, and I wouldn't be doing justice to the songs or myself if I tried to sing like I am 26. Today, I sing the songs that I wrote with Vito Bratta over 40 years ago exactly the way I am today. This is the only way I can embrace them and feel at home and be honest to myself and the songs," he concludes.

White Lion...
...was not only known for good hard rock, but also for socially critical lyrics. In "El Salvador" Mike Tramp sang about the struggles in the Latin American country, in "Little Fighter" it was about the Greenpeace ship "Rainbow Warrior" blown up by France, and in "Cry for Freedom" about the urge for freedom and the fight against state oppression.
Now Mike Tramp has re-recorded some of these outstanding songs and musically brought them sensitively into our present. The lyrics are timeless.

Mike's vocals are outstanding..Its hard to top the original but I really like the new spin on the song and nice guitar work to.

Palos de ciego con La Guns, Whitesnake, Stryper, etc? Te hace falta una buena limpieza de oídos, o espera, debes ser de esos amargados que a todo trata de encontrarle algo negativo, por cierto Vito NO quiere tocar mas.

Some of you fans should find this interview with Eddie Trunk from this week. Mike says he is returning to tour America again beginning mid-Sept but will have a full band backing him up during that tour. Good for him! IMO, these are baby steps Mike is taking to prepare for their return of Vito in the future. Just my 2 cents!

Really like this! Nice to hear songs evolve as the artist grows. A lot of people complain about Mike Tramp's post-White Lion sound but I personally think it completely suits the way his voice has changed over the years and I really like the more 'classic rock' vibe that he now has as opposed to the hair-metal vibe of White Lion, which of course was great fun 30+ years ago and which in my opinion does suit younger artists more than the more 'mature' ones. I'm sure I'll get slaughtered for this opinion by the 'White Lion are gods' crowd (I liked them back in the day too, you know!), but I'm looking forward to hearing more of this.

Very cool that he’s redoing it but I will stick with the original ! vocals are a little more crisp and Vito on guitar is amazing. This is a little too slow paced for me but it’s still cool. Love the original classic.🎸 wish I could see the entire lineup never got to see them back in the day

Vito Bratta was the difference.
Mike has a likeable soothing voice , even more so in this lower register . It's sung a bit too lazy in this slightly slower tempo .... but still very nice .

At first listen, it felt like lackluster music from tired musicians. Simply because, the bar set on the original version is high. But it grew on me upon second listen. I could appreciate much thought and consideration put into this version. All the best to the whole band with your creative process.
