  • This Unimog camper was manufactured by Bocklet, a family owned company in Koblenz which makes off road vehicles to order. Here we can see a camping unit on the back of a Mercedes Unimog.
    This was filmed at Abenteuer & Allrad, the off road camping show held in Bad Kissingen in June!
    I live in a motorhome full time and travel around Europe in it. I spend most of my time in Poland, Germany and Italy. Vanlife is my life.
    In my CZcams channel, I present reviews of recreational vehicles. Here you will find campervans and motorhomes from the cheapest camper vans to the most expensive luxury liners, from various companies including Hobby, Hymer, Carthago, Westfalia, Wingamm, La Strada, Frankia, Wavecamper, Maurer, Clever Vans, Pössl, Bürstner, Niesmann Bischoff, Action Mobil, Reisemobil Manufaktur, Robeta, Trigano, Challenger, EuraMobil, Laika, Forster, Mobilvetta Design, Affinity, Globe Traveller, Benimar, Roller Team, Adria, Tourne, Megamobil, VW, Mercedes, CS, Renault, Ford, Fiat, Carado, Sunlight, Baileys, Chausson, Balcamp, Knaus, Weinsberg, Mitsubishi, Woelcke, Reisemobile Bürow and others.
    I do this by regularly attending trade events such as CMT Stuttgart, Abenteuer und Allrad, Caravan Salon Dusseldorf, Warsaw Caravan and Camping Show and sometimes others.
    I cover equipment, including 12v electrical equipment and talk a lot about lithium batteries.
    I also show some of the places I have visited in Europe in my own motorhome, as well as the places you can stay at! I try to give as much coverage as I can to official campsites and free places which I use for overnighting. Therefore you can find here the aire or stellplatz that you are possibly looking for.

    A beautiful practical build. Nice and tidy. Yes expensive but most of that is for the vehicle like you said Alan.👌

    That is a beautiful interior. I wish the big mainstream companies would do their interiors like that. The interior is simple and stylish with no naff crap. I would like to see the one based on the Mercedes Sprinter. I think that would be more interesting to me as that Unimog thing is way over the top for me.

    Good stuff Alan👍
    Keep up the good work,you have a genuine interest same as a lot of us that don't get to see the trucks and vans of our dreams.
    You might get one yourself one day,with out a microwave😂😂😂
    Don't listen to any knob ends that give ya negative comments!
    The fact that they are watching your work shows you are doin something that interests them.
    If I win the lotto,I'd have a better idea of what I'd buy for ma dream truck to travel the world seeing your work.
    I reckon 'Bocklet' 'Blissmobil' 'Action Mobil' would be my visit,there's so many,orangework,krug,Unicat etc they all have unique qualitys.
    I always buy the lotto and if it comes up one of them are getting a visit😂😂😂👍🐾

      Thanks David - the ones that make negative comments only do so because of jealousy. However I would not buy a big van - 750cm is the absolute limit for me with the sort of places I go to - and I doubt if I would go off road!
      I had three lottery wins last year - not bad from six tickets but the highest win was around EUR20. However so far, I have made money from it!

    I used to be fascinated by these type of vehicles, but recently I've begun to question their value VS something like a Mercedes Sprinter 4x4 camper van. The vans can fit a 2 person bed, shower, toilet, galley, storage and seating for 3 or 4, as well as offering decent offroad ability. Whereas the bigger vehicles like this don't seem to be as clever with their space usage, and I imagine running them would be a whole lot more expensive. Nevertheless, this is very impressive, and if money was no object I'm sure it would be tempting.

      El Rey,I love the engineering/technical and capabilities of the mogs but I'd agree with you👍
      A good well built 4x4 sprinter or Iveco will do the stans and South America and probably get you to places down the dirt tracks that these big trucks can be limited to.
      Check out Tucks Truck on u tube and his blog South America you might enjoy.
      What an amazing journey in his Wee Iveco from 'Bocklet'
      I'm still fascinated by the mogs and if money was no option I'd be tempted to build one by 'Bliss mobil'or 'Bocklet' but I'm poor so I always keep the dream👍👍👍🌍🐾😂

      czcams.com/video/Fdf2Ahl4WtM/video.html this guy answers all of those questions. It's a case of what are you doing. A mog will go places a sprinter 4x4 will not even think about, and will go where a sprinter 4x4 will go at 100% capacity with ease. Yet, it really depends on what you're after.

      @VanlifewithAlan  Před 5 lety +2

      I can't remember which one I put it on now but I will do it again. Spoiler warning, here it is : a person I was talking to had metal water containers on his vehicle in Namibia. He said it was wrong but the people he got the vehicle from insisited. There was a problem, out in the desert, no water and it was three days before another safari or RV went past! Moral is that water containers need to be made out of plastic, rubber or similar - metal won't do!

    • @VanlifewithAlan

      Maybe a lot of work that went into building it?

    • @BenzinioB
      @BenzinioB Před 5 lety

      Don't think so! If I'm not wrong the vehicle is 180 - 200 000 euro itself - this buys you the legendary off-road ability and reliability of Unimog, (but also buys you pin in the ass to drive it in towns and narrow tracks and ship it around the world)...
      But then the space converted is not significantly more then the one in van or the detachable cabins for the pick up trucks and I really cant see anything to justify additional 200 000 euro as It is also not that much luxury inside as well.
      Great machine but not at that ridiculous price (personal opinion)...

    • @VanlifewithAlan
      @VanlifewithAlan  Před 5 lety

      Price is determined by supply and demand. The long waiting list for this vehicle I think is a good indicator that the price is justified.

    • @BenzinioB
      @BenzinioB Před 5 lety +1

      It isn't how long you are waiting, it is how many people are waiting for :) Still would prefer something like Earthroamer XV-LT, at least 100 thousand euro less, very good off-road ability, ability to drive in town as well and most importantly pure luxury inside for 4 people. Again personal opinion and i should mention I'm not a big fan of Earthroamer as it is quite a bit on the ugly side, but as a overlanding package it checks way more boxes....

    • @marvinhidalgo2659
      @marvinhidalgo2659 Před 5 lety

      Omg a “Ford” earthroamer vs a mighty Unimog, for me that ford is like a expensive limousine no off road capacities I see videos of 30 and 20 years old Unimogs running expeditions in South Africa, Mongolia, Morocco etc. here is a video of the earthroamer in a muddy flat terrain been pull out by 3 other trucks

    400.000 EUR, es gibt keine Waschmaschine, wenig Wasserkapazität, anscheinend keine Außenküche, die Solarkapazität ist sehr begrenzt, wenig Dieselautonomie. Man zahlt teuer und sie geizen mit der Ausrüstung!! Alarme einstellen, UHF-, VHF-Radios, 4G-, 5G-INTERNET, Satellitenfernsehen, Navigator mit großem Bildschirm, Sicherheitskameras mit FLIR usw. Der Verbraucher ist derjenige, der viel zahlt, und ich weiß nicht, warum er nicht das einzahlt, was er einzahlen muss!!
