This was the only video I could find showing a jig to use on a router table to make a bowl. I didn't like the other methods using an oversized router baseplate so I used this method today to build a jig and make two 16" round platters with a ½" lip, super easy to make and safe to use. Instead of "clamps" like you used, I just put screws through the jig into waste areas of my wooden blank. Thanks for the video!
Nice job I’ve gotta try that method 👍
Wow that did turn dark in color.
Did it ever lighten up after it dried.
I learned something, good video.
Right! I knew it was already an unusually dark piece for poplar but it really surprised me. I’m 3 coats of poly in at this point and plan to do at least one more tonight but it has stayed dark.
Glad you learned something! Thanks
where did you get the original heart patterns?
I made the patterns. Printed out some different sized coloring page hearts to find the one I liked best. Did the thing where you use spray adhesive to attach the paper to a board. Then cut it out on the bandsaw. They look fancy but it was just a scrap pics of MDF with a cherry veneer.
I actually included it in an earlier video, it’s the one where I made some wood chocolate boxes.
In the past I’ve bought those thin project boards for kids to do crafts with and used them as patterns too.
