Man em's technical ability is crazy. He carried a 5 syllable rhyme scheme through the whole first verse.
also that "u" sound and flow, goddamnnnnnn
From "shoe fits i'll wear it" i was fuckin floored. He carried that for so long! How the fuck?
What is syllable rhyme scheme, plz explain it

Facts.
Eminem Fun Fact: Till I Collapse Has Sold Over 7.3 Million Units In The US, And It Remains The Biggest Selling And Most Streamed Non-Single/Workout Song Of All Time.
Fun Fact: As of January 2019, Kamikaze has sold over 500,000 copies in pure sales, making it the only solo album of 2018 to do so.
What makes this song so good is how Jay Z and Em come from two different backgrounds but were able to intertwine them in their verses
Jay Z dealing with a rough upbringing in life and his music is a product of it. While Em is dealing with the publicâs perception of his music since he was the center of all the controversy in Hip Hop. But it all ties together where they both stay true to what they are no matter what others say.
In this particular song, what you said applies, but it is no secret that Em had a rough upbringing as well. His mother abusing him, his dad not being there, and vicious bullying that at one point resulted in him being in a week long coma.
@@No-jb2py Yes but Em mostly just talks about his public image in this is what I was just saying
@@darnell7871 And I agree. That is why I said "in this particular song, what you said applies".
@@No-jb2py Okay
@@No-jb2py Glad you added this reply so I didn't have to 8 months later
Jay's second verse is just crazy.đ„đ
Fun Fact: Eminem produced this beat. This was on Jay Z album âThe Blueprintâ from 2001
Another fun fact: Thereâs an original version of this song with Eminem and Royce Da 59 (dope rapper too). Jay heard of this and wanted to be on it and Em told Royce about it. Royce was taken off new version but he didnât care cause he thought it wouldâve made a song a bigger hit
Fun fact: Music To Be Murdered By Was The Highest Selling Hip Hop Album Of 2020 Worldwide, Selling Over 1,010,000 Pure Copies.
Fun fact: this song is on two albums: Eminemâs âCurtain Callâ
I also think that Royce didn't have time to record the verse because he was touring. I am not 100% on that because it's been a while since I've seen the video but I think that's what happened. Might have been in the Crook interview/podcast with Royce. He also thought that yeah it was going to be a bigger hit with that so Royce gave the "permission" to give it to Hove, I also think there were other people that were in the list to rap it. That I'm definitely not sure on but I think so.
For me, this song was like 2 Hall of fame boxers in the same ring. Not fighting each other, yet contributing in the same title fight.
Jay Z had the haymakers. Slow, powerful, deep rhymes. Poetic Hooks..
Eminem threw swift jabs, one after the next, combinations...
2 different styles combined for an instant classic.
Stop these so called âfun factsâ already đ Thatâs common knowledge for anyone born before 2000 and even if someone didnât know: Whatâs so âfunâny about it????
Eminem produced this. A lot of Eminemâs biggest hits were made by him. Nearly the whole Eminem Show (2002) was his production. Even Kanye had said Em is one of the best producers hes ever seen
There's a version with Royce đ„đ„đ„
The original version
well we all know who taught him
@@krishnanand_ps yeah mgk taught him
I never liked Eminemâs production. Heâs my favorite second MC of all time, but I hate his beats hahaha.
Jay word play always underrated
I love Eminem but people really sleep on jays crazy ass word play during his verses
@@toxicjaguar7989 Jayâs 2nd verse to me was the best verse in the entire song. âI had to hustle my back to wall ashy knuckles, pockets filled wit alotta lent, not a cent, gotta vent, lotta innocent lives lost on the project bench.â That shits hard.
@@i_am_gohan9232 agreed
One of the greatest collabs in rap history!!!
Ah youâre reacting to one of my favorite songs by my favorite rappers, this is going to be good. Hip hop masterpiece right here
Hov and Em both dropped some of the best verses in rap history on this track.
Yea although I still give it to Em if I were forced to choose, Iâve noticed that years later after revisiting this song, Jay Zâs verse is criminally underrated.
@@jwdathefax377 I thought ems was better b4 but I defo prefer jays now
@@jwdathefax377 I like jay's verse
I can't say the better verse. They talk about different things related to their respective lives. Jay address his critics saying how do you judge music about his life which they have no knowledge of? And Em talk about parents putting blames on him for their mentally unstable kids, not understanding his music was also an outlet for some people to vent their anger out so they don't do actual harm. I definitely like Em's flow more.
EM is the GOAT! No other rappers come close!!
Yeah, this track is one of those slept on classics. This song is what Rap is all about imo.
Jay killed it many ppl sleep b/c Em shit outshined him but Jay def brought it
Agreed....took me years (Iâve just noticed it about 3 years ago) but his verses are definitely underrated.
Yea people say Em washed him but Jay went hard but Em really is the modern day shakespeare.
Exactly. Jay killed this shit but Em did come out on top.
@@Twilight.Princess i think jay came on top coz i can relate more to jay's verse and I like his word play a lot better.
Jay- Z openly admitted Em had the better verses. Me personally, I just see them giving different perspectives of different ghettos. Both of which I can relate to. I appreciate how you caught the bar about judging music that's intended to uplift the "less fortunate". Both artists killed it. But em is Just different.
RENGAAAADE!!!
What people don't understand it's not just his bars... It has a lot to do with Ems delivery of said bars. So many times I found/find myself saying " oh shit ! Did you hear HOW he said that line?"
bs he didnt admit that
@@mikem4481 em murdered
@@mikem4481 nas says otherwise
Crazy they never collabed as much as they shouldâve
Thatâs why Jay Z and Eminem are looking for others they have each otherâs back to the ups and downs unknown a bigger threat that the iconic duo GG in them and if they are like Kobe Bryant and Shaquille OâNeal howâs the rap game.
im sorry but weezy will always be the kobe of Rap
@@cube5884 Nah, content is usually lacking. Heâs the king of punchlines, and metaphors. Which is fine as long as heâs hitting you with line after line that catches your attention, you donât even notice that the song isnât really about anything. đ
Best reaction to this song that I have seen. Great job!
thank you đđ»ââïžđđ»ââïž
The probably only live performance of this on Letterman is DOPE!

Just so you know , I wanna say from the other side of the spectrum, this makes someone's day , makes them laugh, think, smile:) keep it up!
If you werenât around for emâs prime we canât really describe it to you. We all knew we were watching something legendary take shape , and his music made us better fans of all hip hop because of the insight he gave us. It was an amazing time to be a fanâŠâŠ.unlike nowadays
Yo Iâm diggin my mans shirt đ„đ„
The creator actually understood the bars and broke them down precisely. đŻđŻđŻ
this has been very enjoyable to watch...Beards and Brains all the way
The way em pronounces (expresses) every word!!yes I agree
Loved the head noodling đđ
Just bought a new pair of headphones and i just want to say that your channel has hands down the best audio quality out there. Some are close but yours is perfect.
get a life...sad...
They both were also dirt poor but Em didnât want to talk about himself being poor, considering Jay Z is already talking about that struggle life and Em knew itâd be smart and ideal to rap about him being labeled as this ârole modelâ thatâs supposed to do everything perfect because, like you said, at the time he was the person that the media would blame for everything. So, it compliments Jayâs verse so well. Itâs like, âI came from shit, and had to deal the cards I was dealt (Jay), and here yâall are trying to cancel me for me being me and holding me to a standard to be your perfect role model. (Em)â. Both verses are just so clean and compliments each other so well.
That's a dope shirt my guy. love it.
Thanks for reacting to the greatest song of all time. Loved it
He is amazing at the annuciation and is able to hit certain syllables with the beat, with the superb annucaiation he is able to from his own percussion over the beat but it's also on time with the beat in the instrumental. When he raps fast like in Rap God, World Wide Choppers Pt. 2, Godzilla, Lucky You, etc. you can understand and hear every single word. No one can beat him in that. If you look at The Ringer when he goes on a 13 bar spit fest without taking a breath and that is a good example of the percussion aspect because he's hitting in just the right place and you don't even notice the beat in the back. Another example is Not Alike, when he starts with "Sold Dre my soul ...* and ends with "And I double-edge sworded 'cause one place
I poke and I stick and I turn and I rotating motion". The beat slightly fades away and we see Em being essentially the metronome and the percussion just with his syllable punches!
One of my fav rap songs ever đ„
Love your breakdowns. Two kings with great verses. Em was on another level with this one. I love to love this dude but I know people that do hate to love him
This was during the time that jayz was coming into his own and was believing the hype and Eminem was on the come up
Yeah right around 2001, JAY-Z at that point was basically the face of the rap game he had passed up DMX, in popularity & not to mention that the Blueprint came out on the same day as 9/11!
Sure bro
Eminem was not on his come up, cause in 2001 he was huge even bigger than Jay
No
@@bigjohnboatright3811 no? hip hop is not just NY, hate to break it to you but no one cared about Jay outside of the US until he got with Beyonce
I love the both of you. Both of you are intelligent and observant but in different ways, and when you come together, it is a beautiful, harmonious, respectful vibe wherein really smart views from very different points of views come together to give the audience quite a holistic analysis of the subject matter and style being discussed. I hope I get to have coffee with yall one day.

Nas - Sly Fox, Undying Love, Nas is Like, Rewind, If I Ruled the World
Big - Notorious Thugs, I Got a Story to Tell, Unbelievable, The What
KRS-One - Step Into a World, Sound of the Police, The Bridge is Over (BDP)
Mobb Deep - Quiet Storm (not remix), Shook Ones Part II, Drop a Gem on Em
Itâs honestly a shame how overlooked Jay Zâs verses are on this track he has some amazing lines. I havenât been much of a fan of his recent releases but for my money his first 4 or 5 albums are amazing and one of the best runs in all of hip hop.
yes delivery is one of the most important skills in rap and thats one of the reasons biggie is considered one of the goats even if his lyrics are not impactful as 2pac
Hov just makes it feel effortless
I like you both, good reaction skills and how your girl feels you in the same lines, priceless, keep it up. I feel that its just the begining of a big channel. My best and sincere wishes! I hope you respond me now cuzâ after some months u wont even see my comment.

Jay gets shit for Em "killing him on his own track" but Jay's verses are amazing. They really are phenomenal verses that only a handful of artists could even compete with. Em just wound up dropping the verse of his career, if you don't consider it Ems greatest verse, it's at least in the discussion.
