5 years later and this game still has some of the best looking visuals, i somehow prefer this one graphically over the Third
It's amazing what Crytek are doing with real time graphics. To make this sort of stuff run at acceptable framerates is really incredible.
Finally, Crysis 2 living up to the family tradition :D Stoked to try these out

@Exglade No, because all the textures got downscaled for the Consoles. Same textures from Crysis 1 are findable in Crysis 2 (not all of them) and you can see that one is at a lower resolution then the other.

The composer is Borislav Slavov. This track didn't appear of the Crysis 2 album so there's no track name to put to the music :(.

@TerranWTF Meh, it's not really about the nature or anything for me, but the environment in Crysis 1 is more open so it allows for more tactical options (Though not explicitly mentioned like in Crysis 2), and it's really fun to screw around!

Yeah you can switch to 3rd person but only in the sandbox 3 editor by pressing F1.

@Unprotected1232 You're wrong about that. Tessellation is a dirextx 11 feature. You can't get that on any dirextx 10 graphics card.
@TortillaGaming Yes, the game called Morrowind used interactive water. Though not as advanced as today's games it was interactive nevertheless. Look at video call here in youtube call, "Morrowind water effect".

@BlackPoisonxX I don't see tesselation anywhere in BF3. It's still all flat. Only good thing in BF3 is the particle fx.

So do the graphics settings need to be set to ultra for these features to be used while enabling dx11? Because with dx11 enabled and graphics preset at high, there's no parallax occlusion mapping....

@legendary0o Cryengine 3 with dx 11 looks amazing but since the Frostbite 2 engine they have shown us still are in pre-alpha stage we can hope for some real improvements.

@tenegon The game is call Morrowind from Bethesda. The creators of the Elder Scrolls series. The interactive water is not as advanced as today's games but still you could see the ripples during rainy days and water movement when you are moving in the water. Look for the official Morrowind trailer too see the water ripples in action.
@IntoYoFace nope its was built for consoles as well (ported). But a console version will never look this good or support DX11 since its is Vista and Win 7 only. This DX11 Patch is directly from the Dev for the PC players

Hmm, i wonder if my o/c GTX 460 will be able to handle this at 1920x1080. The rest of my rig consists of a phenom II x4 @2.6ghz and 8gigs of dd3 @1600 ram.

if you have a non-dx11 card, is there no possible way to install the patch and take advantage of any of its features? or is it impossible entirely?
@Whiting1289 Like I said, really fun to screw around. But seriously, remember relic? There were loads of KPA to kill, and you could either steal a sniper and take them out from far or bash them up close. Jumping off a cliff into the river, launching vehicles at startled KPA caught in the headlights, chuck them off the cliff, Jump off the cliff with them, tear them up along the river banks with a boat. You're entitled to your own opinion if that's how you perceive it but for us, it's more fun...

@Rachamacha Thats because its modded, and for what i know, crysis 2 and crysis 1 both runs on the cryengine 3. Wich would mean they both support the same kind of graphics.

@DjSilver118 It's a update for the PC to DX11 . Consoles can't even get dx10 and they're stuck on dx9 so every game you play on consoles is dx9

@tenegon Also, look at another CZcams video of Morrowind water. Is called, "Morrowind water effect". That one is short but a good one since it is pure vanilla and not a mod.

@deathmagnetica The water in just cause 2 look great with gpu rendering but it isnt nearly as dynamic and interactive as this water.

@DeathForSk8 That's very correct. But this marketing presentation can be read in two ways which is sometimes the goal of some marketing presentations. For those who are uninformed about graphics will assume that Cryteck is inventing these techniques. Already, I have a friend who, after seeing this vid, thinks Cryteck invented interactive water. This is very smart marketing. In any case, I'm glad there are companies like Cryteck that are pushing the envelope in visual quality.

@guwwetryw yeah man , what i like the most in Frostbite 2 is the destruction 3.0 , its awesome + we will have jets in BF3 so imagine how cool it would be to have a CAS and having a building next to you destroyed , cant wait to do it myself :D

@severedlegs it wasn't the lack of DX11, i think it was that it was stuck on shitty DX9, and was obviously ported from consoles, and not finished in time for release.

Plays on my laptop great
I was glad I could run crysis 2 in my pc with hardcore graphics with 50-70fps when it first came out. It used to look amazing comparing to consoles. Now that Crytek did that update with dx11 and ultra textures, the game has insane and mind-boggling graphics and now im getting 19-39fps lol!

A surprisingly few amounts of complaints about C2 were about it's simplified gameplay. The only thing that I didn't like that they took out was the weapon customization in game in multiplayer. That was fucked up. Other than that, I can't say it's anything above or below the first crysis (which didn't impress me too much either gameplay wise).
