There is a small difference in tone, but it's more something you feel and hear in the room, for me at least. Question, i use elixir 9-46 but my strings feel cluncky and rusty after only 2 weeks. I clean my hands and take a cloth and remove gunk from the strings every time i finish playing and still they last 2 weeks tops
    Any advice? Thanks

Maybe try elixir polyweb if you're using one of the other coatings? The polyweb is thicker, maybe you'd eat through it slower

Pick up some GHS fast fret. Expensive but I find it helps extend string life.

Cut off your hands and never worry about it again.

Those stickers on your guitar can affect tone though.

Don't use nano or poly. Use opti.

@@jessefildesmusic They're the latest and greatest. They are coated but don't feel that way. They last longer than poly and feel like nano. They never rust and they almost never break. Give em a try and you won't be disappointed.
