- Webb Wilder and his band, The Beatnecks perform at the Jammin at Hippie Jack's Americana Music Festival in Overton County, TN. Self described as "Rock for Roots fans and Roots for Rock fans." In essence: Rock and Roll.
There are roots rockers, and then there's Webb Wilder. Hardly a purist, he has described the music he and his band, The Beatnecks, make as "Rock for Roots fans and Roots for Rock fans." His raucous live shows featuring his booming baritone, blazing guitar licks and punchy rhythm section - overlaid with a healthy dose of his quirky humor - have created a devoted worldwide following of enthusiastic fans. His last 2 CD's went to #1 on the Roots Rock Chart. Using all manner of media (music, movies, TV, print and radio), Webb Wilder has been impacting Popular culture, and it him, for way over 20 years. Webb was recently inducted into the Mississippi Musicians Hall of Fame for 2010! He is now listed alongside Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Jimmy Buffett, BB King, Muddy Waters, Sam Cooke, Bo Diddley, and Jimmy Rogers. - Hudba
Webb Wilder is possibly one of the truest representatives of pure American music in our world today. If you've ever seen him live, you'll agree.
Got to open for Webb twice in my life..once when he was touring the 'It came from Nashville' album and years later with a different band..nice fella..love his music!!
Work hard, rock hard, eat hard, sleep hard, grow big, wear glasses if you need 'em. - The Webb Wilder Credo A true renaissance man. Go forth and ROCK!
"It Came from Nashville" was a groundbreaking album.
I miss R.S. Field's songwriting from somewhere beneath Ruby Falls.
Holy Cow. What have I just accidentally stumbled upon. These guys are super incredible . All of them. Wow!
surprise... Webb has been rockin for years., used to go see him at the old 9:30 Club at 930 F St in DC way back in the 80's.. they fuckin rocked the place out!! It Came From Nashville (Devil's Right Hand by Steve Earle) was my intro to the last of the full grown men..
lol... I laugh every time I read this comment! I've been onto webb since the 80's when he recorded the Devil's Right Hand & Jerry Douglas played on some of his cuts on Hybrid Vigor(I believe it was).. my God I love these guys!
This is TOO cool! Absolutely awesome-- great fidelity and thankfully enough of an actual show to see what a slammin performer Webb is.
Thank you!
Webb does a GREAT show, writes great tunes, and this video captures his work nicely. Thanks to hippiejacks.
The Last of the Full Grown Men....I've been a fan since seeing him support the Georgia Satellites in London way back in 198?....
Nells Jazz & Blues London - Wed 11 Oct 2017 - be there
1989 Town and Country Club. Great gig. Was there too. Been rocking and Webbducating ever since!
@@philgardiner7093 Used to love the Town & Country back in those days , saw so many great gigs there
@@KeefsCattys Was a big event for us carrot-crunchers to go up to the Smoke back in the day. Also saw Dan Baird up in Glasgow about 10 years ago. He hadnt changed a bit.
@@philgardiner7093 Haha Yeah, We used to travel up from deepest Kent as often as we could . The Satellites were fantastic live too
Everytime I see Webb Wilder it leaves me wanting more - Great performers!!!
Great! I saw Webb opening for the Georgia Satellites here in the UK 22 years ago and have been a fan ever since!
Nells Jazz & Blues London - Wed 11 Oct 2017 - be there
I was at the Glasgow show; I still love WW to this day. Tour de Force live show
Have seen Webb a few times and always looking for a way to catch a show. The albums are great but can't catch the energy if his live shows. He is a true American treasure, great performer, writer and showman.... "Work hard, rock hard, eat hard, sleep hard, grow big, wear glasses if you need 'em!"
Excellent! Even a Flamin' Groovies tune.
not the same gunslinger you had in old days ... I guess we all done got old ... still love it and thanks for the hay ride -
Holy crap! They's all Ionizin' the crap out of them guitars! Great sound and vid!!
Rockem Webb!
been seein this guy since he was in a band called the" drapes", he had it then and he still has it, he rocks it live!!
Great live show!!saw him back in 88 with Cletus and the twangler. If you can watch the short film "Webb Wilder Private Eye" that's how I discovered him.
Ditto, saw him in Seattle twice in the 90's. His backup guys were a lot nicer and down to earth than Webb was.
It takes a hippy to post something like this. If you don't know Webb, you don't know Jack.
Smokin stuff!! I love this band!! Nice playin' man. Nice playin'
33:40 Slow Death....what a great track. WW rocks!
Webb is the man! Bob Williams can flat out play guitar. Looks like Jimmy is missing on the drums. Tom is holding the bass beat. Nice. Thanks for the post!
This is mean RNR!!!!
I remember seeing Webb and the boys at the Big Apple Cafe in Puryear TN in 1986 IIRC. Glad to see he is still tearing it up!

I think this is Mr. Asher, my history teacher from 3rd period.
