Thanks Doug, appreciate your comment, its taking shape
I like the new tail mate looks really good on the bike. Looking forward to seeing it in color
Cheers mate, looks much better than the original one
Wow that looks really good can't wait to see the finished product.
Thanks Banditnev, glad you like it, its definitely taking shape now, really pleased with it
Very nice mate, looks like it was meant to be there!
Cheers Jonboy, a lot better than the original tail unit
Looking very nice always wanted to do that to my busa when I had one would look very mean in satin black
Thanks Shaun, its getting there, still lots to do
Looking good 👍
Thanks Ivan
Who did your custom plates? Need a set
Indeed much better 👍👍👍.
I was curious if the headlamps will melt the plastic mask?
Thanks Christopher, there is a gap between the mask and the headlight, will primarily be used in the summer, if i encounter a problem i will use lower watt bulbs 35w instead of 55w
I have a gsr750 the front light and clocks fit inside each other prehaps the frame work from the gsr750 could be adapted to to the bussa it brings the whole front closer to the bike
Thanks MadMark, will have a look, thanks for your comment
Hey looks good, who made the plates for you
Cheers Kevin, a guy called Stewie Hayabusa on the Hayabusa uk site on Facebook made them
hey i'm having a hard time finding the kit you used and a subframe i could use on my 06 busa, please give me a link or proper part name for the items to find these parts for mine. I greatly enjoy the video and appreciate the help
Thanks David, i wouldn't call it a kit, as it was all bought from different places. the tail unit plastics are GSXR1000 K7 that was from Ebay, the rear part of the subframe is also GSXR1000 K7 and was also from Ebay secondhand, the rear indicators and tail light again from Ebay, all from different sellers, the rails to join the Busa frame to the GSXR subframe i had them custom made as Greggs customs in the USA is like $800, hope that helps
The Amateur Bike Builder Hi.
I just saw your build, yesterday, very impressive.
I’ve wanted to do this rear end conversion to my 2000 busa, for a while but have been put off by the high cost of the adapters needed.
Is that 3/4 billet ally? Do you have a template or dimensions of the plates, that were made up, by any chance?
I can source the cosmetics, no problem
Thanks. Dave.
@@916hayabusa Thanks for your message, glad you like my build, yes i was kinda put me off to start, Greggs customs in the USA want $700, i actually had them made for me,i was speaking to some guys on the UK Only Suzuki Hayabusa owners group on Facebook and they pointed me to one of there members that made them for about £100 +shipping, i think they are 10 or 11mm ally,
The Amateur Bike Builder Hi.
Thanks for the reply.
It looks more like 2cm, I’d say it has to be very strong, for rider, pillion and twin exhaust support (if keeping the twin system).
Do you have his name or a link to his profile, on the hayabusa site? I’m on hayabusa.org (American) which has been very useful, so I’d have to sign up for the uk one.
I’ve found a seller of thick billet ally plates on eBay and could get the 2 pieces for around £50-£70, I could guesstimate the dimensions from your video but would be best to contact your guy first.
Thanks again. Dave.
P.s I’m in Staines, near Heathrow, uk.
@@TheAmateurBikeBuilder Hey man ! Great build i love it all the way . i have 2 question. Could you link me his name the memeber that made them for 100euro i would really apprecicate it, Then next question you went with the orginial swing right?
what year is that tail
Hi Edecio, its a K7/K8 tail unit
Didn’t Greg’s include a custom seat? Their $895 kit says the custom seat is included.
Thanks Busa Valley, this is not from Greggs, i would not pay their prices
@@TheAmateurBikeBuilder gotcha,.you made mention of Gregg's in a comment so I assumed it was their kit. Do you have any links to parts you used?
@@busavalley8695 no, was just pointing out that Greggs kit was the only one i could find and it was expensive, all the parts except the rails to join the busa frame to the GSXR subframe came from various sellers on Ebay, the frame rails i had them custom made for me, for a fraction of the Greggs price
@@TheAmateurBikeBuilder I can find all the parts except the rails and subframe. I dont want to pay $895 either, seems rather expensive.
@@busavalley8695 For the subframe i actually bought a complete GSXR1000 K7 subfame off Ebay , used the rear part and re-sold the front part, where abouts are you ? USA ? UK ?
Thanks for the nice video 🙏
Where can I buy this R1000 tail kit I wonder 🥹
Thanks, available on Ebay, the joining plates, i had them custom made
