"Ignis!"
bigmiss!
Tollo!
*eldritch blast noises*
"INCANTE!"
"Dolor"
Fighting an army of rats never felt more cinematic.
Lol use spirit guardians when fighting them it’s really satisfying
Fireball and a few firebolts to the barrels
Vermintide begs to differ
It really has. I NEED to know Balthazar's ost.
They won game of the year and walked on stage to this song fucking epic
The soundtrack that’ll become a DnD background staple for every campaign I DM from now on
Saaammmmmeeee😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
Same.
Fuck yeah
Huzzah! A man of culture!!
*Updated my journal*
The way they made how this theme "reacts" to situation in combat is one of the best moments in game. Like when it keeps calm part of this song on repeat during fight, but when you kill one of the enemies it transforms into epic part and gives you shivers. Awesome idea, they are not first to implement such thing, but these are always such high moments in game
it was even better in divinity: original sin 2 where you could pick instruments for each of your characters, and when you got a kill with that character it turned the theme into a version of the battle theme using that instrument. like every character had a theme song. so cool, I wish they kept that in bg3.
@@rebeccabaker3358absolutely. I was really hoping against hope when I picked bard that my instrument was going to behave like that!
@@rebeccabaker3358but in dos2 you had one battle soundtrack for the entire game
That's not true
@@XeXeXeMan What is not true?
Aaaaand of course this is the track they played when, inevitably, BG3 won Game of the Year at TGA. OF COURSE
Because it's the cherry on top of the perfection that is this soundtrack!
i mean no shit lol what else could have won, it wasn't even close for any other game
@@highdefinition450 Alan wake 2 and Zelda totk were amazing games, even better than balls gate 3
@@CITYZEN50 Silence fiend.
@@CITYZEN50have you finished the entire game before saying that or are ya Nintendo dick riding
Provoke the blade...
... *and suffer its sting!*
That scene gives me chills every time.
I swear Wyll is just flexing in that scene, like he's not even a martial class but he just HAD TO kill that goblin with his rapier for style points.
Borislav, just wanted to let you know that this song inspired me to write a paper on it two months ago. The way you crafted this song.. as if it's following a hero on their journey, galloping on horseback. The horns of destiny (or fate) call to them as the strings play their own path. All until the hero submits to the call of destiny and rides with it. And at the end, the actual siren call enticing the hero to accept their place in history... Masterful sir! Truly!
the song was uploaded 2 weeks ago, what the fuck are u talking about
This is such a stellar analysis. I see a very similar story as well. When this played I was fighting goblins in order to save a gnome and we were VASTLY outnumbered. My brother was a barbarian (and played like one too) and provoked the entire group. By the sixth round, he was dead and everyone around me were downed. I was a lone sorcerer who clutched the remaining 6 rounds by casting sleep (which is busted in this game) and magic missile scrolls. It took, ALL of my resources to pull off a win. The best long rest of my life.
A paper? University? School? C’mon man take that stuff seriously… This is why country is in such a state. Imagine writing papers on this when Mozart exists.
@@jaybee4288wut the fuck are you talking about?
@@jaybee4288 Imagine being stupid enough to think that no new art is ever created, and that only the very best of the past matters. Continue to be boring, and do not buck the status quo.
I'm sure this is everyone else's favorite song as well solely because the part at 4:05 SLAPS
the buildup from 3:45 makes it so much better
Ah~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nah, 1:03 - 1:21 all the way. A travesty it only lasts 18 seconds and never returns.
@@fabianthecownipagreed
@@fabianthecownip well, it's a build up so it makes sense
Fun fact: this soundtrack instantly upgraded the defending Isobel from Marcus & bunch of winged horrors fight from "slightly annoying" to "the most f**king epic battle since the beginning of the game". IMHO
This soundtrack is in most the fights though. It just changed depending on if you had characters die.
4:06 the female vocals really kick in while the allied teiflings are getting massacred by an insane lvl 5 sword spider. Actually thought we might lose the fight.
When is this
@@SordidusFellatiohe's probably refering to if you give minthara the location of the grove, you can have a big heroic showdown against the goblins
Shadowheart switching between blasting spiders with holy flame and trying to keep Zevlor alive with healing word. Astarion trying to land sneak attack . Karlach doing reckless attack. Wyll shooting another eldritch blast...
@@manifest5768 ahh I never got to that part, can’t bring myself to do it 😂
Also, why does the voice sound so similar to Shadowheart? Did they really have her sing that part or is it just me
4:05 The part where the female vocal comes in is the climax of the song. Very well composed
4:00 Ansur: "The Waiting storm is arisen!"
This scene, this music gave me goosebumps...and it still does.
I listened to this song on repeat back when it was still called, "Battle Music 2." Masterful work Borislav! I am happy to finally be able to put a name to the composition.
„Make way for the Blade of the Frontiers!“
Wyll: *jumps to his death*
@@maharajaZ In EA you could just sneak by that scene and flee from combat and they still thank you later :D
Fraud of the Frontier!
"You can't escape The Blade!"
THE BLADE WILL NOT BEND
@4:07 all the vocal harmonies happening in this last part are absolutely beautiful, both the male and female voices sound heavenly
I don't think I ever paid attention to this theme until the fight with Ansur. I had heard it many times before but wasn't consciously listening to it, so I always assumed it was Ansur's theme, which at 4:05 it definitely is fitting. This is my second favorite track in the game, second only to Nightsong
It happened to me but in the fight defending isobel from Marcus, it just makes the battle genuinely more epic and for some reason you consciously are listening to it
In my head it's always been Wyll's theme. It plays for the first time in the battle where you first meet him, it plays in various fights that only occur when you take the good route (e.g. defending Isobel at last light), and it plays when you fight Ansur which is the final hurdle of Wyll's questline.
I love that this piece of music has nine beats per measure. Nine beats, nine blades. It creates such a unique, living-on-the-edge feel.
I've listened many battle music for fantasy games in my 20+ years of gaming history, and I can honestly say this is one of the best of them. Simply fantastic.
1. Lae’zel
2. Astarion
3. Shadowheart
4. Gale
5. Wyll
6. Karlach
7. Halsin *or* Minthara
8. Jaheira
9. Minsc
I’m not sure that’s why the song is called 9 blades, but its a neat coincidence.
Why not Halsin *and* Minthara?
4:05 This part of the song makes me feel like I'm ASCENDING
You are not a Aasimar, calm down
“I will ascend”
Nice final boss theme.
*someone whispers in ear*
Huh? This is for the FIRST FIGHT VS. GOBLINS IN THE GAME????!!!!
When you line up your AOE attacks just right and the music shifts... It's just so satisfying.
YEEEESSSS!
4:05 😢 come on man this is so emotional
I cried
4:05 my favorite part!
You did excellent work making music for this game. Much respect!
I am the Heart of the Gate. I am The One Who Roars. This time, you will not escape it!
4:05 ❤
Every fight this theme plays is something special
1:03 to 1:20. Gives me CHILLS! ♥️
Oh absolutely
This.
Need a short version with just that
Has that World of Warcraft Stormwind ost vibe and that's the highest compliment from me.
Same! A masterpiece!
Every song is this game is incredible, but this one is especially insane!
This is the 1st soundtrack I noticed in the game that made me think "this game is gonna be epic" when fighting the goblins at the druid grove entrance.
This song plays when you fight with Ansur. Gods, I ADORE THIS SONG!!!! it is SO POWERFUL✊✊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
If there are any songs that share any similarity to 3:45 to 4:47, we need to know about them. The end of this track is absolutely epic.
Try the Two Worlds II soundtrack. Same composer and it's amazing.
heroes of might and magic V also has some similar osts
Try the track Daredevil from the Ace Combat 7 OST.
Also from Stronghold (Crusader) OST: Sandal Maker. Hits sooner, at 00:38.
Banner Saga has a similar dynamic soundtrack, where the chanting kicks in on some songs when you're close to victory. Very much recommend giving that one a listen. Or, if you're just looking for one song, Of Our Bones The Hills and Walls No Man Has Seen are the standouts.
When you feel you and all your companions will die but no this ain't over... One more round !
"I yield to none!"
"By sickle and sword, strike them down!"
*Blasts that single goblin with Arms of Hadar low dmg roll*
"Morere!"
Every fucking time, Wyll. Fucks sake.
This song is so beautiful it actually made me shed a few tears when it first came up during gameplay and also now when I found it and listened afterwards.
This is so good. Thank you Borislav for your contribution in video game industry. We need more of your pieces in RPG.
The way the music is dynamic in this game is amazing.
Bravo Borislav. Odlicno remek delo! Nasiot folklor e tolku bogat za moze da se spodeli so celiot svet .... Prekrasna muzika! Pure Byzantine masterpiece!
There are bits and pieces in the soundtrack that gives me the excitement I had with the soundtrack of Conan the Barbarian (1982). RIP Basil Poledouris.
Absolutely adored this one ever since I first heard it in EA, one of the best combat themes I've ever heard in a fantasy RPG. Your work is incredible!
That back end climax is something else entirely. Fantastic work! Haven't stumbled upon this in-game yet but can't wait.
This game got something special, from A to Z, just something epic
Very nice soundtrack and fits the scene perfectly. Heard this first time in front of emerald grove it felt so amazing in that first major fight when this soundtrack hit chills.
這首BGM真的超級熱血啊啊!!!
LEGENDARY ONE OF THE WHOLE SOUNDTRACK
I work at a Zoo. Needless to say the Polar Bear gives me heavy side eyes when he hears that track.
Well played BG3... WELL PLAYED.
Finished BG3... now I listen to the soundtrack over and over... getting the balls to run it on tactician..

If you're hearing this, you're in some deep shit.
Thank you for all of the beautiful songs you have created for the game. It is much appreciated!
Please never stop making music for video games! I love your work!
4:05 that part with the voice, make it the song become perfect
4:05 One of the best parts.
This is no joke when I say this is by far the best composed soundtrack I've ever heard.
1:03 and 3:50 are my favorite parts of this already amazing music 😁
I finished my first run a couple of days ago but I can't help listening the soundtrack over and over
One of my favourite
Best part for me right here. So uplifting and heroic, I feel like I’m running down the scales of a dying dragon or turning an un winnable encounter into a fighting chance. 3:11
love it but i feel like 4:05 - 4:46 should be twice in there, that part is simply to good to just be in the end
A subtle reference to The Book of Nine Swords? I wonder. This song certainly sounds like a nine swords character plays. EPICLY.
Or possibly because it's written in 9/16 meter. That would also explain why the hype version is called Sixteen Strikes.
Браво! Страхотен саундтрак!
Man I love the choir and orchestra so much, as well with other games which incorporate it. It’s so dramatic I love it.
This song really gets you pumped and determined to push the Dead Three and their Chosen's shit in.
Or Ansur. A zombie dragon is metal as is, but that fucker decided that spitting fire is too vanilla and shoots lightning.
Then the Vocals kicked in when he decided to hover to nuke my party.
thank you for making this soundtrack.
I love the use of 9/8. 😍
This soundtrack is amazing.
4:00 Broken, bloody, but not beaten. The moment we all knew this was game of the decade. :)
Thank you, there is not much more to say, but there is lot to listen.
A music which fits the greatness of the game
Please, you have to make a concert here in Sofia sometime in the future! This music is just too precious and brilliant to stay only in The Net realm! Thank you for being a genius! Пожелавам ти много здраве и безкраен извор на вдъхновение! Прекрасен Музикант!❤❤❤❤
the last minute is just orgasmic!
Goosebumps every time 😊
Just saw this live at the Southbank Centre… One of the most amazing things I’ve ever experienced.
It’s a memory I’ll never ever forget.
Banger
The time signature is in 9/8, how cool!!!
Given that the song that goes together with this is Sixteen Strikes, I wouldn't be surprised if they're both in 9/16 :P
The vocals here.... Love it! And always wonder what they are singing....
This is my hype song every day
The part that starts at 4:05 was playing most of the battle while I slaughtered the refugees. To me it sounds sorrowful. This is a brilliant track that made my evil playthrough feel like it had weight.
Oh man yes, this song have a New meaning to me after i set Zevlor on fire
"Kowalski, casualty report."
"Only _two_ passengers unnacounted for, sir."
"That's a number i can live with. Good landing, lads! Who said penguins can't fly?"
He did *not* have to go this hard... Daaamn
4:05 PogChamp
gods damn this man makes whatever he touches better with his work.
crysis 2-3 div2 now baldur's gate 3.
Nine Blades and me 🤝
When you lose the battle and come back after killing multiple people then this song comes ALWAYS MAKES HYPE UP !!
combat music is my favorite in this game
this song title is the title of a campain my friends and me have been playing for over 3 years, just discovered this song with the release of BG3 XD
"If not over, then *through!*"
*wields halberd in cool high-guard stance* >:)
Sorry Marcus, you're not taking Isobel today!
Dark Urge: I do 😈
4.05 is epic part of song and ı experinced it when very close win and bloody battle
That's so epic! ✨
1:03 this reminds me the time when I hit a triple critical hit with the eldritch blast, this song playing... BG3 is so fucking good... DOLOR! 25 25 25 My bard made the Devil dance!
3:46 this really feels like Shadowheart's part of the song
Yeah 😊 Nightsinger
the notes at 1:30 and the brass at 3:02 are peak
man some of these songs hit me almost as strong as the game of thrones intro.
TGA GATE OST
Only you can make me cry
Man from 4:06 it sounds fricking amazing. It brings me to tears 😭😭😭 This game is fricking awesome!❤❤❤
"One cannot always be a gentleman" -Gale the turn I casted lightning bolt to cleanly smash a line of enemies, even though my allies were fairly close to them. I like fireball and all, but lightning seems a lot less resisted, and you can cleanly line up your foes in the right circumstances
Sunbeam and Wall of Fire are excellent for this too, absolutely love getting a clean line of enemies
More like 9/8 blades.
