The chute, the chute - let's all talk about the chute :D Long story short it goes to the Salvage hold not the Cargo hold and at present there is no cargo grid in the Salvage hold - should have mentioned it in the video as i know what comments are like lol :D But to answer that one i'll pin this up top :)
can you PLEASE stop using the head tracker? It's really discombobulating and doesn't really add anything to the videos, in fact I'd say it's a detractor as it just gives weird perspectives for us viewers
sorry dude that isnt gonna happen - i apprecaite that it isnt for everyone but it is an integral tool to how i play and enjoy th game. not everyitnhg is done for the benefit of viewers. sometimes you gotta do things for yourself. There are other great channels out there though - I could DM a few recommendations if you like
@@aydointergalacticcorporati698 but I like that....
@@Citizen_Kate Best answer ever. :) FYI I like the head tracker in your videos and use one myself. I feel it really puts us in the story - and you're a great storyteller and editor, so it adds a lot.
i have noticed that the cargo grid even on the vulture had problems. If you happen to hit any cargo it knocks it out of place and you have to replace it on to the grid again. They are easy to knock off grid.
This is the first truly multicrew experience available in my opinion. Excited for it to get in more people's hands!
I think it is definately the most fun i've had crewing on a ship and we didnt even fire a shot haha :D looking forward to seeing how doing it full time pans out when the patch goes live :)
It really is. Finally you can get a crew together and do things onboard besides being a turret gunner. You actually have a job now.
Doesnt the mole have 3 mining turret for multicrew?
@@skoomd4447 Yep. A crew of four on the Mole can provide very good multicrew play, given that the crew is organized and has a command structure.
@@Citizen_Kate Can you use the salvage beams on a live ships with the shields down?
I didn't realize how much I was waiting for specifically your review of the salvage gameplay loop until this video came out. Thank you for presenting it in such a clear and entertaining manner.
Im so looking forward to the upcoming "life aboard te Reclaimer" series!
we're looking forward to it too - I can see it being a lot of fun and also more challenging knowing the threat of pirates is out there! :)
Hey, i dont think i saw it addressed in the video, but there is a hole near the rear of the processing deck that leads straight into the cargo grid. Just toss them down there while someone stacks them. also, if you open exterior, there is a hatch that will open for emergencies
No point in tossing down because there is no cargo grid to secure the boxs. CIG very early on in testing gave us a temporary120 SCU cargo grid on the Salvage Processing deck as a workaround for the uslessness of the cargo deck at this time until the Reclaimer has been given it's gold standard pass giving the ship it's full functionality.
I am always amazed at the amount of details on the outside of the Reclaimer.
One thing you should probably know about the reclaimer is (unless it got fixed) the lift between the main deck and the cockpit has a habit of instakilling. Unless it's been fixed I'd recommend taking the ladder instead.
In a video I saw recently, on Reclaimer area where the boxes come out, someone was just tractor beaming them down into the hole at the back.
Pretty sure it goes to the cargo hold & would make the process a lot quicker instead of using the evil lift.
This is incorrect. That deck is separate from the cargo hold and serves no function currently. We think it's going to have something to do with hull munching down the line.
I remember seeing that when they showed it in ISC... worst case, they could have just left the elevator at the cargo level and then just drop the boxes down the shaft to be retrieved by the crew mate on the cargo deck.
@@CyrusKazan Thanks for the correction, good to know.
Now it seems a silly place to have a big hole at the end of that deck, makes no sense!
I tihnk the intention is probably to have that deck function as you describe - but I do tihnk its odd that it doesnt work that way right now lol
And also, the elevators have the 'cargo crid' strcuture on them and even markings for the placement of boxes on it - it also just doesnt function as a cargo grid right now :D
@@Ratswallow This can't be done either. If the elevator is not on your level, the door will not open for you.
I've said this before, the second this update goes live, I'm buying the game and buying a reclaimer as fast as possible. Finna run a salvage crew
You are always the tip of the spear for showing the entire SC world new content. Thank you to you and your crew! This is one of the more anticipated game play loops I've been waiting for. If I can just manage to not work at the office so much I might actually be able to try it out in the PTU. Finally a "real" industrial multi-crew experience. The Reclaimer requires 4 different crew responsibilities in order for the operation to run smoothly. Pilot, at least 1 beam operator, at least one person in the salvage hall and one person filling the cargo bay. When this goes to live, you'll also want at least 1 turret gunner. I can easily see a crew of 7 plus 1 or 2 escort fighters on any given mission. Obviously the next thing for the DEV's to address is the elevator. There needs to be a cargo grid on the lift itself so you can stack crates easily and perhaps 2 layers thick. Hopefully the DEVS are already on this. It Can't wait until I try out my own Reclaimer.
Well salvage gameplay is way more than I thought!
thank you for continuous great content from Elite to SC 🙏
that just is the start they already are working in munching gameplay where you will cut part of the ship and munching it with the claw
and thank you for watching cmdrmaskimeecc :) glad you enjoy the channel!
What I'd love to see; if u could restore/fix a wreck to a "flyable" condition, and sell it at a scrapyard as a whole, or keep it to your self and claim it.
Idea: orbiting scrapyards; and tow wrecks (with a reactor-beam) there to sell/scrap it.
When ship tractor beams become operational, Taurus will be pirate favorite. Just think about it: 1. Pirate fighters destroy Reclaimer. Taurus comes in and fills it's cargo bay with boxes, using it's tractor beam turret.
As a solo operator, the Prospector has been my main method of earning credits and it helps that I absolutely love the mechanics of Prospector mining.
In 1PTU, and after waiting 2 years, I have fallen in love with the mechanics and gameplay of the Vulture salvage. The addition of 'crafting' was a bonus I did not expect to see until a 3.18.x patch.
Vulture salvaging is definitely in my top 4 gameplay mechanics. The Siege of Orison, Prospector mining, scavenging and now Vulture salvage..
You can't always multicrew. But you can always solo.
You haven't tried Piracy then?, looks like its the future, especially with Pyro just around the corner...ish
Reclaimer is actually my first ship since I started in November 2021. It’s so homey inside
great videos on multicrew experiences. Really provides some good immersion. Cant wait to see more. Would love to see a carrack multicrew with use of the snubcraft while the ship gets left in atmosphere.
This is amazing content, keep it up! This is the most immersive video ive seen thusfar really showing the mechanics in use, i love it! I just picked up a corsair a bit ago, i can not wait till i upgrade this pc to handle the game better.
hopefully ship refineries add another layer to mining like the moving and stacking of boxes with salvage
Yes I really hope this is the case - if mining ships could detach those saddlebags and fit fresh ones then transport ships could handle all the running back to stations while the miners just stay out there mining - this would allow so much scope for orgs to set up logistics networks :)
Very cool! i just have a Vulture, and wil probably never find an crew to man a `claimer with, but its great to see that it is a fully crew working together.
Brilliant primer, Kate! Really looking forward to this loop with friends in my Reclaimer!
Space Day Laborer...moving boxes from one pile to another. Soon you'll be queueing up for factory work on the planets. Then you can buy a house, get a mortgage, and an ulcer. Life is amazing.
Excellent content, anxiously awaiting more. Keep up the great work.
Someday, we will all be saying:
Back in my day, we didn't have repair drones. We repaired ships with hand tools
While doing EVA.
Upside-down, in Amosphere!
Well done! Trying to keep in mind this is only stripping, when we partially integrate components, consumables, and munching into this time .. This is going to be great!
Thank you for this video, posted it to my FB org page. Very informative and entertaining!
just wanted to say that your videos are pure gold. love how you guys play, love your play style and how you explain in amazing detail everything you come across in such a fun way. i purchased a vulture 4 days ago and owe all the gameplay success to you. thank you for making these videos. you are appreciated.
Great video once again, loving the content and very excited for the salvage to go live, I could try it on the PTU but I think I am going to wait.
Awesome video as usual.
Really looking forward to 3.18 and the desire to finally play it gets bigger and bigger with each of your videos ^^
I adore how your videos are shot like documentaries.
Wow that was exciting! Though I hope CIG is watching and can see the pain that is dealing with some parts of the ship. Like the painful way you have to transfer the boxes from the salvage deck to the cargo deck. Would be nice if there was a chute you could use to drop the boxes down into. ♥
There is a salvage deck below salvage processing and you can drop the boxes down below at the other end of salvage processing deck. So you have another crew member down below stacking the salvage boxes that drop down there. The cargo deck if for cargo not salvage. Sadly the salvage deck don't have boxgrids to stick boxes to yet (will get fixed).
Excellent content as always. My favourite SC content in fact. Great video - super excited for salvage and repair also. See you around the verse o7
When the salvage hold boxgrids work, you don't need the elevator as you can drop boxes don't below there. But yes, But good point on the elevator needs boxgrids and the elevator door to stay open until someone push the call button. Great video and a very cool glimpse in the the multicrew I was hoping SC would give us. Love it :)
Great review of this very interesting new upcoming feature thank you 🙏
Seeing you fixing bullet holes from outside of the reclaimer was a total discovery for me. I had no idea it was possible and was amazed by how immersive it can be. Thx again for the work you're doing to bring us videos like this one 🤩 keep it up 👏
this is amazing! youve really upped the quality recently
thank you dooles :) really appreciate it!
1) The grid on the salvage deck works for selling at the TDD - I use that when salvaging solo.
2) The chute from the salvage deck to the cargo deck. I haven't used it, but I saw it on CZcams.
3) Aaron Halo has the good stuff, and nobody will bother you there.
4) Will a snub ship fit on the elevator (like a Pisces)? If so, use the Pisces as a scout back to A18, and as a QT marker to bypass OMs that might have pirates.
5) Load up on Cruz, med guns, and multitools with tractor beams before you leave A18. Once the patch is stable, you will need the Cruz.
The chute on the Reclaimer does NOT go to the cargo hold. It goes to the salvage hold, which currently does not have a cargo grid.
Thanks for the video. About the best Reclaimer footage I've seen so far.
Great video. Saw exactly what I was looking for.
ArcCorp ATC did not look amused with the Reclaimer landing.
haha i know right? that one dude with the arms folded was not impressed :D
The reclaimer is so cool, it reminds me so much of the shop from Alien and that design is 👌👌
I really feel like the salvage play loop is the first play loop that I can really get into the groove of, I’ve only watched videos of it (due to the crap servers and not having one of the ships). Thanks for the great videos 😊!
3.18 has been a ton of fun already, with some stability improvements we're all going to be in for a treat! Thanks for the video!
Good stuff seeing the reclaimer in action makes me all that much more interested to see what cig does for a medium salvage ship
Cool gameplay. Thanks for sharing your PTU adventures
With the reclaimer, you sorta wish you could jam the elevator door open so you could pitch things down to the cargo bay from salvage processing.
Being able to force service mode on your elevators would be hilarious :D
i found pretty annoying to get out of the pilot seat and manage the cargo every 5 mins, considering that the vulture is a single player ship.........anyway nice video, very informative as always!!
After watching this, it seems like the vulture should actually be a two-seater instead of a single seater. Or they could introduce a different box arrangement function for the vulture in order to support solo gameplay.
Agreed, the Vulture's design is a bit confusing. It's billed as a solo ship, and only has accommodations for one, but is vastly more efficient with a crew of two.
The new reclaimer looks like the salvager from Homeworld.
Great video, thoroughly enjoyed it
One word... "This is FREAKING AWESOME!!!" 🤯🥰
excellent video. I own the Reclaimer and am glad to have some salvage capabilities available for it. Hope we someday get to use the drones and the CLAW! And the quickest way to send the boxes to cargo bay is to toss them in the hole at the end of the Processing floor where you started. (there's a big down arrow) We experimented and found you do get credit for boxes in either location. Oh, I see you mention the chute so guess that's what you're referring to.
I cannot wait to see the life aboard the Reclaimer! This is full fledged multi crew. They need to fix a few big bugs but I look forward to doing this with my friends.
Absolutely LOVE your videos. Best SC content on the internet!
this is really cool. exciting progress
Very fun and informative!!!!
There's a slot at the other end of the salvage processing room to drop boxes down so you can bypass the elevator altogether. One person underneath stacking and one person up top tossing boxes.
see pinned post my dude
if you'll use left alt + mouse wheel you can spread the beams slightly. our team uses a spread of .22 (you can see that in the center indicator which says 0.00M for your video. This way you don't get beam overlap and remove more material quicker (at least we think so).
With the way the salvage and filler stations work on the reclaimer you could easily make it into a minigame!
2 teams of 2 people, One on salvage turret, other at the station.
1 person flying the ship, this person will also be the judge and must not be biased.
You get one hour of salvaging, after which the boxes are counted and the winning team and judge gets the money from both team's boxes, split equally among them.
Sounds fun to me!
I got to say I was not a big drake fanboy …. Until now I really love the Corsair, vulture and the cutter. And now I got all 3 now . Great work on the video and keep up the great work 👍🏾❤
LOL, you don't often move the "Mothership" to pick up all the crew. I think there might be a more suitable ship to pick them all up and deliver to where you're salvaging. Too bad MPUV doesn't do QT... so maybe a Cutty Steel :D Great vid as always, team!
elevators were not working in New Babbage to Vlas was actually stuck there :D
Amazing gameplay, thank you! Best wishes from Argentina
thank you for watching NomeDeArte :)
Love your full multicrew vids, need more day in the life series. You guys should also do a story series for the org like made up missions with a story arc. Keep up the good work, hope to join up when i get a decent pc
Just bought my Reclaimer, traded in the mole. Thing is a beauty
Another fantastic video.
It will be even greater one day in the future as ship systems come online. Also, when salvage starts extracting more materials from ships.
Who else has seen Dark Matter? The Reclaimer totally looks like the Raza, so I’m glad you actually have a reason to multicrew it. This ship has teeth too.
Somewhat, I think the Raza is about the size of the reclaimer, but in the shape of a Terrapin or a Valkerie. Love the Raza!
I would pay a lot of money for the Raza, or a Rylon Gunstar.
I just discovered your channel, and just as i got done with the daymar caves this popped up!
Edit: The addition of the music is also very awesome
Oh cant wait for a reclaimer series! Now i just want more multirole ships for different series
ATC controller doesn't look happy ^^ Haha - great video, as always!
Great vid again. I so want to help crew a Reclaimer right now. 🤣
Seriously, the Reclaimer and salvaging would be the first interesting oppertunity to be hired to crew and work on someone elses ship.
can't wait to use the claw for the rest of the stuff
That reclaimer s brilliant.
Such a bad arse looking ship.
tips
alt 1 2 or 3 for rear 3 and front 3 auto turrets very important you salvage crew know how to man these guns and they are ON and ready incase people attack,.
SET your power management to all shields F7 hold
when salvaging a limiter [A] and just under half way with mouse should be enough for abraid salvage speed so you get a nice smooth scrape.
trawler is gonna lose you materials but if you're in a rush you can switch.
amazing work :)
You guys make great content. Keep it up.
Wanted: box handlers to work on board a reclaimer.
Experience on a jumptown ground team beneficial
Tractor tool supplied
10,000 Auec an hour
its really satisfying to watch
They need to make a crew room in the salvage room
As soon as 3.18 goes live I'm looking for a job on a Reclaimer. This is what I want to do now
fav SC channel
i am crazy exctied for a life aboard the Reclaimer series!
You don’t need to use the lift to move the boxes to the cargo hold
You just drop them down the hole at the back
Remember that salvage will be better when munching comes. Also the components can be salvaged when fiscal.
Must admit, your gameplay is inspiring
wow thanks dave that is very nice of you to say! :)
I wonder why your elevator wasn't working mine works just fine 🤔 great video BTW enjoyable as always
Multicrew is why i bought the game, and its exciting to see it starting to come to life
There is a slide at the back of the Cargo Processing bay to simply drop the 1SCU containers down into the Cargo Bay. You don't need to use the elevator.
not the cargo bay no. the salvage hold - which at present has no cargo grid - so you'd still need to more them to the cargo bay using the elevator - jsut 1 floor down
@@Citizen_Kate You are absolutely correct. I went back into my Reclaimer and realized that. Another cool thing I did not know is that if you open all exterior doors from the cockpit you also open an external door which allows you to simply dump cargo boxes out of the Cargo Processing bay and out into space or onto the ground directly. I love this ship!
The reclaimer really needs ship to station docking, and I feel like making room for an argo mpuv snub in there would also be very helpful.
This game just gets better & better.
You don't need to put the boxes in the elevator to get them down to the cargo bay. You can use the tractor beam to drop down the hole in the back that goes to the cargo deck. Then have someone on the cargo deck to move them into place.
lol gonna be getting these comments all day i reckon - the chute goes to the Salvage Hold NOT the Cargo Hold - and at present the Salvage Hold has no cargo grid
I'm just waiting for the Vulture to be available for purchase in-game.
The MFDs are still flash btw, not entirely sure what's going on with the MFDs + elevator panels going blank, hopefully fixed soon, pretty sure it's one of the main reasons it didn't go live before xmas.
Yeah lives gonna be great. Big part of the update is soft death, so having to fight over a full hold of scrap and then hold off a boarding party if they disable you is gonna be amazing.
I feel like it's only gonna get more profitable as time goes on. I think salvage will be in three steps. Hunt for components (slow but VERY profitable if you find a wreck with those intact), hull stripping, and using the reclaimer arm to turn the rest into scrap commodity. That last part probably won't get a lot of profit, but it's a little more money for your time since it'll probably be the fastest activity and you'll have the material right in front of you anyways after the other steps.
Awesome vid as always!! Why do you typically use to record gameplay/discord audio? I have noticed when I capture replay or just record with NVidia I never get the discord audio.
Always love your more utility oriented videos! But I also got thinking, can you do multicrew bounty missions & salvage (soft death for NPCs hopefully?) as a 2in1 kind of deal in a Reclaimer?
Hmmmm
It's not necessary to use elevator to move boxes between two floors, there is a connection between them at the end of each room
That room isn't the cargo hold.
Hi tech space ship but no conveyor belt to transport the boxes to the cargo area😂 I love this game so much, this might be my favorite game ever. It's just some things you have to actively do are hilarious if you think longer than a second about it. These things are fun for a blue monday, but soon it'll be tedious.
I dunno about that - i mean one persons boredom is another persons good time - look at mining, to me its boring but people absolutely love doing it. I like the cargo aspect of salvage tbh - and the argument it will become tedious kinda reminds me of when FDEV said they wouldn't add ship interiors to Elite Dangerous because 'they would get boring'... FDEV are so out of touch lol :D
Kinda think this ship justifies a Medical bed with respawn. Salvaging is so relaxing. Even by yourself on a Reclaimer is fun but with a crew of like 4 it would be amazing. Great video guys amazing if you need someone else to help please pst me ingame.
Honestly even with the Vulture, that's pretty good money for a job that doesn't carry much risk.
i'd love to join a crew like this that want immersive salvaging gameplay 😁
Monster of a ship ;D
def need at least 3 people to run the reclaimer for sure
