I’m a Florida boy and love all our fish, but that cold water fish is delicious too, especially haddock,cod,pollock, scrod, awesome for fish and chips.
pollack has almost no flavor, that is why they use it for fake krab. Haddock is by far the best, scrod next
I love haddock. One of my favorite fish n chip fish. Years ago it was near impossible to catch cod of decent size and I'm so glad it has rebounded some.(haddock is better anyway)

Correct... It's a staple fish here in South Africa. Probably the least "fishy" fish aside for elephant sharks/ Saint Joseph sharks
On one of the many deep sea trips that I went on with my grandfather as a kid.I hooked a haddock without realizing it. I stopped reeling halfway up amd decided it should get some new bait, when I brought it all the way in it had a bite taken out of it. Dog fish love swarming around them
We went haddock fishing out of Plymouth, MA back in July. Nonstop action. We caught 9 keepers inside half an hour, along with a silver hake, a redfish, a mackerel, and a couple of throwback cod. There were so many haddock caught that the mates were still fileting them at the dock. They're delicious eating too. Now it's time to start fishing out of Galilee, RI for seabass and cod. RI regs allow 10 cod at 21", and 7 seabass at 15".

Should of got some lobster fingers aka fried lobster. Love fried haddock, just had it 2 nights ago. I grew up a Masshole but now live in the armpit of the east coast NJ and the seafood sucks here except for a few places on the shore
Are you in Rye? At Petey's Summertime Seafood? If so you need the Fried Lobster and The Platter as it's off the hook. Been a while since I was up that way, I also like the Lobster Boat in Manchester and Fox's in York on the rocks

Traditionally Dogfish were the more common Fish n Chips fish. They are used in 90% of Fish n Chips in Great Britain even though they have been overfished all over the Atlantic.
Dogfish aren’t overfished at this point in time. Population is so high that haddock fishing is very difficult in the summer months. Most fish nowadays in fish and chips is either pollock or haddock.

What part of New Hampshire are you in well if you plan on coming back to New England I suggest you looking up Cape cod offshore and he can put you on some nice tuna and some good eating quality his name is Rod and he's one hell of a captain went out yesterday hope 9 tuna and brought seven both side and we went home with our three recreational fish
He is at a Cape cod Massachusetts and we went out of just passed monomoy point about 4 MI out turning blowing up everywhere
