i love how with the start of the russian federation they try to change the anthem but then switch back to the tune of the ussr, just with different lyrics. shows how truly powerful and timeless the soviet anthem really is
They have the same lyrics:
Slavsya Otechestvo! Nashe svobodnoye! (Be glorified, our fatherland! Our free fatherland!) But as long as Putin is in charge, the Russian Federation will never truly be free. It was never free under Stalin, nor under his successors. Only Gorbachev, the best Russian Leader of all time, could have made the country free. Instead, the August Coup crushed every dream of a free Russia, and the Soviet Union fell because of it.

Because, unlike nationalistic music, communist music is based on internationalism and human will. So unlike German music, the communists used heavy and very powerful vocals to demonstrate that. Its the music of sheer human will, and not of a machine.

This is a wonderful anthem, one of my top ten (after listening to all the anthems of the world)! I credit Russia for a willingness to change anthems, although a country that counts amongst its sons Borodin, Rimsky-Korsakoff, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Stravinsky, Prokofiev and Shostakovich need not have borrowed the English and French anthemic music earlier!
I have loved Russia all my life, as an American, as a socialist, as a lover of history, music and literature. And I still love her--so much. But I want to shout every day in frustration: Russia must withdraw her aggression from Ukraine and Georgia! These are indefensible, medieval wars far beneath Russia's dignity and spirit of global camaraderie.
It's too late in the world for empires, and these military spectacles are condemned by hundreds of millions of world citizens.

@@OberstTeuton a little bit too long but cool rusian empire flag
Anthem copies of countries
Russia: God Save The Tsar!
Britain: God Save The Queen/King!
Prussia: God Save The Emperor!
France: La Marseillaise
Russian Republic and RSFSR: Workers Marseillaise
You know the
God save the queen
Is copy of
Grand dieu sauve le roi
Prussia dont haves an god save emperor they haved the Heil dir ir Siegerkranz
La Marseillaise wasn't original though, it was made by the Italian composer Gian Battista viotti in the second half of the 1700.
The Workers Marseillaise is not the exact same tune as the original French one. Rather, it uses a melody taken from Robert Schumann’s song Die Bieden Grenadiere, which uses a transformed version of the original French melody
Preobraznsky March and thunder of victory ?
Those are unofficial anthems
I’m not communist or Russian (I’m a fifth Ukrainian actually tho I live in the USA) but I really enjoy Russian music and Soviet marches. I’m also a big fan of Tchaikovsky, a Russian composer
12:45 best anthem ever :)
Aren’t this songs banned in Ukraine with the anti-communist laws?
@@valeok8357 yes
@@PremierCCGuyMMXVI So you’re technically breaking the law.

Un ruso
Sounds like my home anthem
@@jrtomwall2867 No, this song is British.
@Kazumaf sounds more like 'god save the queen"
Russian Empire anthems are always based of it
@@Notxnn прикол в том что в русском гимне очень много слов заменены
The first one looks like the British anthem lol
Also german empire anthem
It’s because they all use the same melody of God save the King
Britain had “God Save the King”
Russia had “God Save the Tsar”
Germany had “God Save the Kaiser”
Besides, most countries in the 18th and 19th century used the melody of God Save the King, and today, only Britain and Liechtenstein use it

Ok
00:00 is called “The Prayer of Russians” and it’s different than God save the Tsar
My mom was born in the soviet Union
The Anthem of the USSR is the song of a nation.
The Internationale, however, is the song of the people.
The anthem used before the current one isn't actually that bad. The melody is quite fitting.
