  • If you’re learning piano as a new hobby or just looking to start playing again, you want to pick an instrument that matches your style. While some traditional pianos can look out of place with modern furnishings, the F701 is made with the contemporary home in mind, offering a stylish, understated cabinet and compact size that fits easily in smaller spaces. Yet while the minimal aesthetic seamlessly blends with your décor and subtly enhances the look of any room, the F701’s performance as a musical instrument is bold and commanding.

    Hi, thanks for the review.
    Any consideration about the space for the pedals?
    does the compact line and the pedals position sacrifices the comfort? it seems they are too close so that you have to seat far from the keyboard? am i wrong? Thanks

    Same electronics and keyboard as the RP-701, right? The F-701 sounds "brighter" because of the difference in cabinetry.

    It seems a bit wobbly when you play. Is it because you put it on a soft carpet or does it wobble even on a hard level floor?

    Is there a reason why he calls it a "compact" piano? Are the keys still the standard size or are they smaller?

    • @OhhState
      @OhhState Před 2 lety +6

      Keys are still standard size. Compact here is referring to the amount of space the piano itself takes up in your home. Compare this piano to a traditional upright piano (what I have) and you can put this one just about anywhere, in a walk-in closet even. My upright takes up too much space to move around and it needs 4 grown men to move it.

      YDP S-54 would be a better comparison (same as 164 but more similar casing). Yamaha S--54 looks and sounds better, but doesn't support wireless connect to your mobile device and doesn't have the same intuitive display/ controls.

    Has this piano line outs or exist only the phone connectors? Is the sound engine similar to the fp 30 X? The keyboard is the same. It looks very nice but twice the price of a FP 30X

    • @plektosgaming
      @plektosgaming Před 3 lety +1

      The F-701 is built off of the FP60x. The cabinet and 3 pedal option is $260, plus a bench - figure $300. You technically save $50 with the 701 over the 60x and adding in the comparable accessories.
      The main difference is the interface (huge difference), and speakers.
      To me, it's worth the extra price for the 60x/701.

      Not really.
      Official price for the F140R is 1329$ (without bench) and the F701 is 1399$ (with bench). I took the F701 since the F140R is mostly OOS (out of stock). I agree that before, you could find the F140R around 1099$.
      Except some new screens and "modern" features, there are still some differences:
      - Touch response: 100 Levels of Sensitivity / 10 types vs. Key Touch: 5 types
      - Max. Polyphony: 256 vs. 128
      - Tones: 324 vs 301

      @@djadjaw5680 I don't think so but I didn't check myself on the official website. What my seller told me that the only difference was the frame. NOBODY else on CZcams has this ROLAND 701 series right now. WHY wouldn't you take the opportunity to do a comprehensive review and demo of the top 50 sounds and features? The ad revenue you would make from a 20+ minute review is huge-!!!! Your channel would grow enormously. What a wasted opportunity. I just listened to a 40 min podcast talk about how excited they are for this and there's no worthwhile reviews. Soon as it's released in the US, they'll be 70+ reviews posted on week 1

      @@DAWNRealizetheFutureofBusiness I have this one (F-701). I personally don't have this feeling of "metallic sound" that we can hear with this video. And of course, there are different "modes" like "Concert Piano". So depending on the mode, the sound is more natural. But I cannot compare that to another recent model since my previous one was a very "old" digital piano.
