Fried Karela/Bitter Melon great vegetarian dish

  • 2 lbs. of Karela/bitter melon-thinly slice
    In a pan with 1 tsp oil
    Add 4 cloves of garlic finely chopped
    Add 1 onion finely chopped
    Add 3 green onions finely chopped
    Add 1 mari wirrie pepper finely chopped
    Add 1 tsp tomato paste
    Add Karela and mix ingredients together
    Add 1 tsp salt
    Add 1 tsp turmeric powder
    Cook for 4-6 minutes or until desire done

    Yummy, I followed your recipe also added fresh ginger & Curry. Also date syrup to take a lil bitterness away, though I don't mind the bitterness. It comes out so lovely. Thank you for sharing 🤗♥️

    My mom cooked kerila for us when we were kids. So we acquired a taste for it, and has become one of my favourite dishes. My mom also stuffed the big ones and cooked them in coconut milk. Absolutely delicious! :

    U deseed it to freeze it, but u have to squeeze it before cooking it,

    Never had with tomato paste. I love eating this with dhal and rice

      Blessed InChrist I like to add tomato paste in most vegetarian dishes because it adds a little twist to it . I love it with dhal and rice too✌️❤️

    Hi, When you freeze the kerila, do you freeze them whole or do you de-seed them fisrt?

      I take out the seeds first and I usually thinly sliced some for frying.
