- Here is a collection of weapons that I animated for Cod: Modern Warfare Seasons 1 through 6. Once again I was tasked with working together with many different departments and extremely talented people to create and animate these weapons to look great and feel fun to use. Each viewmodel animator is responsible for animating/creating attachments/variations like xmags, drum mags, stock versions, Sleight of Hand, etc for each of their respective weapons. The reason I don't show the xmag/stock versions is because the majority of them are only different hand/weapon positions.
To clear the common misconceptions out there and hopefully put this to rest: all viewmodel weapon animations are hand keyed, 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗲𝘄, 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗗 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀.

We've had expert consultants give us references and advice on how they manipulate their firearms, studying and examining fine details to accentuate their actions.

The Inspect-Animator
Ya know ive been wondering if you were dunkey, and well. This just confims it.
Regarding inspects:
At the time, we only had a few weeks to make inspects for nearly all weapons. The viewmodel, MP animation, audio teams as well as many other departments didn't have enough time and man power to do what we had initially wanted, which is why the inspects in pre-season 6 aren't as fancy as the new ones since we had more time to work on them.

After Black Ops Cold War, this is what I call a palate cleanser
MW19 will go down as the technically best Call of Duty game. Meaning the sound, animations, and graphics. I say this as a diehard Treyarch fan.
The only thing that kept MW from being the GOAT CoD was strict SBMM and Map Design.
@@user84074 the integration with Cold War unfortunately killed it IMO, ruined a lot of the fluidity of the gameplay and the features

@ETHAN MACIEL the biggest example for me was the AX-50 losing it’s one advantage over the other snipers. In Cold War they made it so that ADSing a sniper takes forever in order to slow down gameplay, and so when they integrated them together it wouldn’t make sense to have slow ADS speeds mixed with the actually realistic speeds of somebody who has handled a gun for more than 5 minutes (Cold War has the most ridiculously slow aim speed for no reason besides to make the game seems slower).
I left MW for a decent bit and came back to find the gun I used all the time on SnD being essentially useless for the role I used it in before. Even with all the ADS attachments it still aims down sights ridiculously slow. In general I can’t get back into using them or relearning almost every gun’s timings for jumpshotting and the likes of it ultimately embarrassing not just me but my Damascus & obsidian
TL;DR they removed most of the realistic elements of that game, replacing them with unnecessary nerfs
I’m so glad that now, sleight of hand is just better, more trained reloads rather than just upping the speed on the same reload.

The AS VAL has the single cleanest inspect animation of all time. It's comprehensive, displays everything you'd want in the weapoin animation, and it's snappy. Beautiful work.
The only problem is that he does a press check without actually chambering a round, at least I think that's what happens.

Beautiful video. By far the best animations, sound design, and 3D models and textures any FPS game has ever seen.
Small detail and I just noticed it but when he shoots less bullets, he keeps the mag and when he shoots more and there's less in the mag, he tosses it! Cool detail

One reason why I love MW is the sound design and the animations, it was great finding out you were one of the weapon animators because it just makes sense, you did some awesome weapon animations and it's fitting you'd work on something like this.

The asval has to be be my favorite weapon animation wise because the character handles the weapon feels so real and I know it’s like that for all the other weapons but it just feels better on the asval in my opinion well done hyper you did a great job

How many people would say it takes to make the animation for one weapon? Is it just one guy per gun, and you get a team for all the weapons, or do you have multiple people working on the same animation?

Not only are all the animations damn good with great attention to detail, but the real key impressive feat here is the switch from mag retention and sling-shotting in non-SoH over to dropping mags and using all the bolt/slide release buttons/levers when equipping SoH. Not only that but the extra variations based on magazine types and sizes. I've never seen weapon animations so diverse and varied ever and I've played a lot of FPSs in the last 20 years or so. Any other title would've just sped up the normal animations but these changes actually correlate to faster ways to replen the gun in the real world. Excellent stuff.
Your work on the renetti is literal gold. My favorite gun with imo the best reload animation in the game.

actually, no. MW Animations mostly uses MoCap tech, and Hyper spices it all up with slight changes and better model rigs

I love how satisfying even the reloads feel. And some mags visibly have rounds in them when they haven't been completely emptied. That is great detail.
Now I know why I really enjoy every weapon on the video, because you animated it, My favorite weapons are the Ram 7 and the rennetis, good stats, good looking and of course well animated, so PERFECT

man i still love watching the inspect animation for the val. the way he slightly pulls the bolt back for a chamber checks and then makes sure the bolt is locked back up ahhhh. so beautiful.
